Horrible customer service by the owner/manager! I have patronized this establishment about 3-4 times when I'm in the Fredericksburg area visiting my family. Each time I was made to feel that my business was a chore by the owner/female manager (her station is closest to the door). She made it very obvious by her comments and non verbal cues that it was as if she was doing ME a favor each time I got my nails done there. The only reason I've returned, after my initial visit was because the absolute sweetest nail tech works there. I forget her name but she is always smiling, has a glowing personality, great positive energy, nice demeanor, and always takes her time to make sure you feel special. I love being in her chair. Unfortunately, she works for a boss who has a terrible disposition and nasty attitude. I just left the salon after I was refused service. The salon closes at 5, I arrived at 425. I ran inside and was NOT greeted by the owner, who saw me walk in because her station is the first you see when you come inside straight ahead, she sits at the front door by the register. Instead my favorite nail tech, who was finishing up with a customer, who was giving my nail tech her tip, immediately greeted me with a warm smile and hello. I said hello how are you - I made it just in time. She looked at her boss who had a frown on her face and said, we are closing in 20 minutes we don't have time, come back tomorrow. I replied I will be flying out of the country tomorrow to which she didn't even respond. She was totally dismissive and rude. I was so taken aback. First, if they were closing in 20 minutes, that would be 15 minutes before they advertise they close. I know it's Sunday and people want to get home, but if you make it known you close at 5, please state when you stop taking customers because those two times are clearly different and not stated on the door. Maybe say no walkins after a specific time so customers are on notice. Secondly, customer service is basic. The least she could've done was greet me when I walked in the door like most other nail salons do, which is followed by "what service are you having and pick your color". That's pretty standard. There was no reason for her to be so extremely rude and dismissive as if I was a burden showing up to the salon 35 minutes before they close. Moreover, I told her I was leaving the country tomorrow (going to Europe) and she didn't care - which is within her right; but at least say something like ok we'll see you when you get back. I guess some basic courtesies aren't so standard. Lastly, it's unfortunate that the nicest, sweetest nail tech ever who does amazing work, has to suffer under her boss. I love her work but will no longer patronize an establishment that doesn't care to treat me with basic customer service. Maybe today was just another off day for her over the few times I've been there but seems she doesn't care so I am writing this review so others are aware of how I am was treated and maybe will care to make an informed decision.
