I recently got a gel manicure and pedicure here and loved the experience. The shop is nice and clean and all the staff were friendly. The only problem is that within 3 days of getting the pedicure it started to chip and with one 4 days the manicure began to chip and peel away from my nail. I really wanted to like this place as I been looking for nail salons to make my own. Everyone one was nice, so out going and easy to get along with, this is why it was hard for me to give this place such low rating; with that being said it is a nail salon and if I pay 90 bucks I expect my nails to be on point. That same night my thumb nail polish starting bubbling and then just came of soon a second one by the next day they were horrible. I scheduled an appointment with Reese, the owner and when I arrived nobody was there except for Haley and the receptionist Shay. I specifically asked for Reese for a reason, but oh well. I paid $65 dollars not including tip for gel extensions, which is very pricey. I left with crooked shaped nails and they lifted up after a week. I could have done better myself at home. Read Less

Can't rave enough about Holy Chic! There is no where else in Fredericksburg that can deliver on quality, aesthetic and staff. It's so cute, fun and I love that they're all about health and cleanliness. Every month they have nail art specials and they can do designs by request. I was super excited to go to this nail salon, long story short, it wasn't what i expected snd they made me feel like a criminal, please read for further details. I went on a day they were having a special, they had gel manicures for $20 or  $25 (this was July 27th, i know I'm late).  My bff and i decided to go to celebrate her birthday. I called and made reservations for us at 7 that night so we could be sure we were on time. The morning of three appointment, i got a phone call asking if i had gel polish on my nails already and i told them yes but only on two fingers. They said okay that's fine we will see you at 7.When i get there at 7 it was a nice atmosphere, they had snacks and drinks spread out on a banquet table and i checked in for myself. They asked me to pick a design, so i did and they said designs were on special for $4 and they do four nails, something like that.  They look at my nails and start to freak out because i have to soak off my gel. Um someone called me about that and didn't say to come earlier . I had my nails in this thing steaming off two fingers of gel for 45 minutes. My bff got her whole manicure done and i was still steaming. I finally get out of the steam and into a chair. It was not a manicure. It was a polish change. There was no clipping of cuticles, no orange stick pushing them back, nothing. They just shaped the nails and put polish on. The gurl who put on my polish wasn't super awesome at that, but the girl who did my design was amazing! My nails were hella cute. My bff had to leave earlier than me to get home to her baby, but i was still getting my nails done. I handed her my credit card to pay for both of us and then gave her cash to tip.  Finally my nails were complete and i could go.I went to the front desk and no-one was there. I got a snack and hovered looking for a  employee to let them know hey thanks i love my nails i already paid, but no one came up! So i left.  I was already a block away when suddenly a man who works there cane running out of the store yelling 'Jasmine! Did you want to go ahead and pay now?!'I turned around slightly mortified, and yelled back i already paid for myself and Theresa and i have my receipt texted to me.  He looked into the store and i guess repeated what i said to verify its validity and then did oh okay, you're good! RUDE. are you kidding me? I stood at your front desk for 5 minutes with not an employee in sight, and then you wanna chase me down to have me pay?? I normally don't leave bad reviews and like to give multiples times visiting a business before I leave a negative review. I am extremely disappointed in this business. This is my second time attempting to visit Holy Chic. The first time was for a sisters spa day for 3 of us. I called, booked appointments and gave credit card information. They called back 20 minutes later and said they didn't have any available appointments for that day so we didn't reschedule. I then get an e...mail that afternoon verifying the appointments. Very confusing. The second time my Mother in law made 3 appointments and when we arrived they were 10 minutes behind and only had the 2 appointments down. They were booked for the rest of the day but offered an appt that evening at 6 at night. Not acceptable. As my Mother in law and friend were waiting to be seen we started browsing the books on the coffee table and were greeted to a book with nude pictures of Kim Kardashian's breasts and in a thong. This place is definitely not my cup of tea. The fact that no one bothered to make this error right is beyond me. I loved my experience at Holy Chic! I have short nails, but they've never felt/looked so pretty! Best mani I've ever had, and Reese was awesome about helping me find a color I loved. I also left feeling more educated about why they are a 'waterless' nail bar and how they are doing a stellar job creating a more 'natural'/non-toxic experience. It's a 'must go' kind of place. I made a spa day for some of my girls, my mom, and sisters the weekend of my wedding. Everyone absolutely loved it and my nails came out gorgeously. They were super accommodating when my sister in law ran late and were able to switch some of the girls around so that she could still get her facial in before they closed. Thank you guy so much! Had my eyebrows waxed today. I asked if I had to make an appointment, they said no and that walk ins were welcome. Was asked to come back to be seen at 4:15, it was 3:45 and I didn't mind waiting. Came at 4:15, and had to wait an additional 25 minutes until they saw me. Saw the technician and she didn't really take much time to talk to me about my eyebrows. Immediately should have been the first red flag but it was my first time so I didn't really know. I talked to her about how much I loved my full brows, and she was smiling and generally very welcoming. She finished up and handed me the mirror and I had pencil thin eyebrows. And they weren't even nicely done either. Very crooked and parts of my eyebrow were way bigger than others, even though there were parts of my eyebrows that weren't even left. In all, at least in terms of eyebrow waxing, would not recommend. Read Less

Unfortunately I have to change my rating, as not three days into my pedicure it started chipping pretty badly. By the end of the week several toes had no polish whatsoever. After reading reviews on this site, I booked a pedicure at Holy Chic, just to check them out before fully committing to changing salons for my nails.  I was very much interested in switching to a higher end salon with a commitment to natural products, essential oils, etc.  and this place seemed to fit the bill.  I went in for a pedicure just last week and it was great;  in fact, I "checked in" on Facebook, my cousin saw it and a few days later, she and her daughter had "heavenly pedicures" here as she phrased it since they were going to be in the Burg that day. So, today I went in for a gel fill.  Now, I have acrylic nails but was very happy to learn those could just stay on while they grew out;  the only difference would be my fill ins would be gel from now on.  Worked like a charm!  Reece did my fill today;  she is not only the easiest person in the world to talk to (I talked her ear off, I'm afraid, and I am usually not the one doing that!  I'm usually the listener!), but she is incredibly gentle and before I knew it, we were done. Already my nails feel lighter and more natural.  I'm sold! And have already booked my next appointment.  Being able to schedule online for me is perfect because I am not always sure from one week to another exactly what my schedule will be  and I like the flexibility of not having the same appointment every 2 weeks.  I'm a fan!  P.S.  A big plus - everyone with whom I have interacted at the salon has been so very friendly and fun. I'm so sad to be leaving the area after finding the perfect nail salon for me! When cleanliness, quality and style matter, no one holds a candle to Holy Chic. I've been going on a regular basis since July and would recommend it to anyone interested in using nontoxic products. We put enough bad things in our bodies. This happened about fifteen minutes ago and I'm honestly still a bit upset with my experience. I made an appointment for today, march 11th at 1:00. Because there was a very large car accident close to the salon, I was delayed and arrived at 1:30. I did call to apologize and let the salon know about the accident and I know I wasn't the only other customer to be late, since they mentioned their other 1:00 had not arrived yet. When I arrived, they refused to see me. I understoo...d that because I was late, it might not be possible at that time and requested to reschedule that day. Here is where I'm angry- I was told they were fully booked and I would be charged a cancellation fee and they wouldn't be able to see me that day. This was a *lie* because after I left, I looked up their website and saw there were appointments available. When I called back to inquire, I was lied to again. To be clear, I am not mad that I couldn't be seen. I am mad that I was charged $20 based on a lie of being fully booked when there is clear evidence that they were not booked. I will be filing a chargeback with my credit card company for the cancellation fee (with screenshots as proof) and will also be sharing my poor experience with other Fredericksburg residents. Fantastic experience! Clean, courteous, professional salon and service. They use low/no odor products so the place does not smell like some salons. My manicure lasted a full week without chipping. Prices are fair and reasonable for such amazing service. I will definately be back! Read Less

I am from Pennsylvania and was in town visiting friends. As a expectant mom to be and my friend a mother of two under the age of 2, a day of pampering was much needed! My girlfriend chose this place because Holy Chic had signs advertising "breastfeeding welcome". She finds herself out in public often being asked to find a bathroom when she needs to feed her 7 month old. At Holy Chic the staff encouraged her to be comfortable and she could feed right where she was being pam...pered or if she preferred privacy, she could go to their back room which was set up for breastfeeding. The staff loves babies and doted on her little girl. I can't forget to mention that this place is all natural so you can forget about gagging on any kind of fumes! If I could rate 10 stars, I would! This place is Fabulous, how lucky Fredericksburg is to have such a place right downtown! This is definitely my new go to place for a manicure and pedicure! They have a completely different approach that is more organic and environmentally friendly with a waterLess pedicure experience that is the best pedicure I've ever had! It left my skin feeling softer and smoother than ever before, I will be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first but a...fter having experienced it I am converted now. No water waste or the fear of getting a fungus from the uncleaned basins of conventional nail places. The staff is So friendly (everyone speaks English!) Reece the owner went above and beyond for my visit, I called ahead, I was bringing a friend for her birthday and we were totally surprised when finding out Reece had made a special fruit punch just for our visit. They are so sweet and genuine here, the decor is super modern and very pleasing to the eye. The owner is also a big advocate for breastfeeding mothers, I heard, they have a special room just for moms to nurse and/or pump...and it doesn't matter if you are getting services done?! Downtown and need a place to slip into for that feeding or pump session? Then slip in here for a great experience and meet everyone and while you're there...might as well schedule to come back and get your nails done! So chic! The people were friendly, the space is beautiful and the service was amazing. I'm looking forward to coming back for more pedis and manis. I really appreciate the consideration they have taken regarding non-toxic products and client safety with absolutely no compromise on the results. My signature pedi and callus treatment were very well done and my feet and legs are feeling great after the massage. Holy Chic's storefront caught my eye when I took my first stroll down Caroline in old town Fredericksburg. What piqued my curiosity even more was that this is the first waterless nail salon in VA, and the owner took great strides to conceptualize, research, and reinvent the typical nail salon experience. This is an Eco-friendly salon, so mamas and earth mamas alike can feel good about getting glam at Holy Chic.It looks like West Elm/California modern spare decor, very clean and peaceful, with simple wooden tables, sheepskin rugs, whimsical yet sturdy swings, and high crisp white walls and windows overlooking the layers of character of the adjacent store. You get a sense of place while still feeling contemporary- beautifully and simply done. After reading the favorable reviews from my fellow  yelpers, I called at 4:15 on a Wednesday, seeing if I could score a last minute gel manicure. No problem! And right now, you can upgrade to a gel manicure for free!(typically $10 more). I didn't even know there was a safer alternative to the traditional gel manicure, so this sealed the deal for me.There's an array of bright cute colors and chic neutrals, the team offers up coffee, tea, and friendly conversation. The only thing Id say they can work on is the length of time an appointment takes. I arrived without polish, and typically I can get gelled within 30 min. This appointment took ab 75 min. My technician and I bonded over Orange is the New Black and How to make a Murderer-- Perhaps if you don't love chatting about binge watching tv like we did you'll squeak out sooner.Awesome salon and concept.
