Although the ladies here are very nice and welcoming - I received the worst pedicure I've ever gotten.I called an hour ahead and Jennifer told me to come in at 3pm in which we did. My husband and I waited until 3:30pm and were finally sat in chairs, soaked our feet for 10 minutes - The time is now 3:55pm and I'm sitting under the dryer. My legs were rubbed for a minute; my feet weren't even touched and let me just say I have some pretty feet  Never in my life would I wait 30 minutes AND pay $25 for 15 minutes of service. 4.5 stars. This place has a really great staff and environment, the people are caring and personable. So far I've had a couple gel manicures that were fantastic but the last time I went I got acrylics and they're a little wonky looking. I think I will just need to be a little bit more 'demanding' about what I want. Still going back for sure!! Read Less

If it wasn't for rave reviews from my mom, I would have never stepped into this place.  It's rather unassuming from the outside.  But man, am I glad I went!  Ben and Jennifer are very sweet and do an amazing job.  They are very thorough and give attention to detail.  When it comes to a pedicure, yeah I want my nails to look good, but the massage is very important to me!! Ben gives the best massage ever.  I about fell asleep.  They also don't try to upsell you or push any extras on you. The only negative is that even with an appointment, you probably will have to wait (today I waited 30 minutes).  However, it's worth it.  And I was comfortable while waiting.  I think the busyness speaks to the quality of their work, and popularity! ��I noticed while waiting that they know customer's names, and customers seemed to know details about them and their family.  All in all, highly recommend! A few months ago, I would have given this salon 4+ stars. However, they are absolute crooks! I had a full set put on on December 7th for a party. December 8th my nail broke on the way to the airport. I had to have the nail repaired in Florida (close but slightly different color) I broke 2 additional nails on December 9th. When I returned to VA I returned to the salon December 16th. At this time I asked a young lady to change the color of the nails as I had 2 different (similar but different colors). After completing the color removal and "repairing" 2 nails I was told I would be changed for the color change. 2 nails (the same two that were repaired are now cracking) I asked to have the 23$ I was charged for the color change applied toward new services today as I'm so unhappy with the workmanship completed. I was told that was against policy. If you're getting your nails done here. Only allow Jennifer or the gentleman to complete. The younger ladies are not qualified. Jennifer (who I believe is the owner) is a great technician, but the customer service is substandard to say the very least. Read Less

Just had my first visit here yesterday and they were lovely.  I wanted a full set of acrylics that were natural-looking.  Jennifer did a great job--quick, top-notch quality, and friendly service.  The shop is relaxing without being over-the-top fancy, they don't push products and the prices are really reasonable.  I don't consider myself a "nail person" but, with this quality and these prices, I will probably keep these babies up for a long time! :)  Will definitely return and recommend to others.  Thanks, y'all...happy to find you! I have been here at least four times now and I have been very happy with the service. I get gel done to my nails and they last about two weeks. They put enough gel clear coats to last. Other places I have went do not. I also had a pedi once here and it was wonderful. She really applied a lot of pressure to the message and it helped relax and rejuvenate me! I've been to this nail shop numerous times in the past three years. The atmosphere is welcoming and the customer service is amazing. I went in to get a pedicure October 19, there was no wait so I was seated quickly. My feet barely soaked 5 minutes before the tech came over and started my pedicure. The young lady was very sweet though. The service lasted at most 30 minutes and that's with drying time. By the following weekend my polish was chipping, I'm used to getting at least three weeks wear out of my pedicure. Definitely not worth $25. The quality of this place has declined over time. I've been going here on and off for about 2 years and the last couple times my nails have came out very poor. Bad shaping of the acrylic, gel polish barely lasts a week. *UPDATE* I decided to give this place a shot at removing my acrylic and after asking several times not to pry the nails off (this is very damaging and leaves the nails thin and weak) the nail tech continued to do so. My daughter and I went here to get our nails filled. We had gotten our full sets done from another salon. I made an appointment and they took us on time. They were very fast and precise at doing our fills and making sure the length and shape was exactly what we wanted. They gave us plenty of time to pick out our colors. My daughter ended up getting a special color that cost more (chrome polish). The next day it had bubbled up and peeled off of one nail. Due to school and work schedule we weren't able to get back into the salon until the following Sunday. They fixed the messed up nail with complete understanding and free of charge. I came in yesterday for a fill and pedicure. The pedicure was absolutely heavenly. I did the milk and honey pedi, and the young lady was so sweet and the massage was great. My feet still feel very soft a day later. For my fill, I wanted the faded french design that I've been seeing a lot of lately. A few months ago, I tried to get it in a different salon and they ended up giving me a regular French tip - which I hate. I was really hopeful that with all of the good reviews I would be able to get it done. The salon itself is very sparse. I was a bit concerned because I didn't see anything that would hint that they could do designs. When I showed Jennifer the picture on my phone of the faded french design I wanted, she nodded and went to work filing off my old gel polish. I was a bit put off at first because she was talking to the other girls the whole time. Then she started to paint my nails with a pale pink polish. I was getting nervous. She then explains to me that she can't do the design I want, but could do the French tip because she didn't have the right powders. I was really frustrated - I wish she had told me when I first showed her the design that she couldn't do it so I could pick out a color. To her credit, she did a wonderful job on my nails. They look nice, and I'm not dissatisfied with how they turned out. I guess I will just have to keep hunting for a place that can do the faded french that I want! Read Less

I finally got a chance to visit this place and I am glad I did. The atmosphere is very relaxing and my nails look great. I even messed a few up when I left and they were fixed with no problem. Our experience here was amazing! My husband and I both got pedicures, and I got a manicure. He had the 'Callusent' pedicure, and what the lady removed was both horrifying and awesome. My husband has baby soft feet again! She really took her time to do a great job and didn't rush. It was the same with my pedicure (I got the 'Sugar Scrub' pedicure) and manicure. She (a different lady than my husband's) was a perfectionist, and my manicure is one of the best I've ever had. We will absolutely stop here again when in the area just for the pedicures. Went there because I was in need of a pedicure and the good reviews. I wasn't impressed. They did take me on short notice, but the experience was ho hum. The young lady who did my pedicure also didn't listen. I explicitly stated "do not cut my cuticles" she attempted to cut them. I asked her to file my nails smooth,  she didn't,  I have ridges.  As she had the lotion bottle in her hand I stated again "Don't Lotion anything above the ankle". She looked me in the face and then squirted the lotion from my knee to my foot. *sigh* the foot message was more of a rubbing and the polish was okay. The best thing about the experience was the guy remembered my name as I was leaving. Which is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 2. With me, it's the little things. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE!They do not know how to shape eyebrows and they do not know how to properly apply gel nail polish. You will pay Northern VA prices and your gel nail will not last one day. When I came back to have their MISTAKE fixed they gave me EVERY EXCUSE  you could think of as to why the gel nail polish didn't last. Don't waste your time or money! Read Less

I have tried just about every nail salon in the area and Family Nail Care and Spa has far surpassed them all. Ben and Jennifer are talented and caring. Always making sure you are satisfied with your experience. They are personal and remember my name and my preferences, mind you I only come every other month. The atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful music. The tv has tranquil scenes playing not news or talk shows. Hands down the best pedicures around with good prices and options. I was in such a big fan of this nail salon. I was there for about an hour and a half just to get a refill that I ended up leaving not liking because they did cut too short and the style was changed. I was charge five extra dollars for Matte top caught without realizing when it should be free like other nail salons.
