I bought a Groupon for this place.. upon arrival I wasn't sure where to park so I called inside and Hannah came outside to show me where to park. I thought this was very nice! Once inside the salon everyone was very nice. I showed Hannah a pic of how I wanted my lashes. After she was done I loved them! I just wanted her to fill in the outer corner on right eye and she did it with no problem! I LOVED my lashes! However, once I got home my lashes are falling off I've counted 9 on one eye 5 on the other and I've only had them done 6 hours ago. Is this normal? Because I paid and extra $20 for silk lashes. I have not wet them or anything so this shouldn't be happening at all. I am going to call the salon in the morning and hopefully they will fill in the lashes that has fallen out. I literally never leave reviews for anything, but I made a Yelp account to leave my honest review for this establishment. First off, 10/10 experience, will be here again. I have wanted to get eyelash extensions for maybe 2 years now but have been hesitant due to price/fear of losing my real lashes. I made an impulse decision 2 weeks ago to just go for it and I do NOT regret it. The website has a very easy appointment maker, but I called was able to be squeezed into an ASAP appointment the same day with Hannah. I didn't have time to print the groupon but was told on the phone that they would honor they Groupon regardless if I had it or not, which was very kind. When I got there parking was easy and free, but I got lost regardless (classic me). I called them and Hannah actually came to where I was standing in the rain and walked me to the boutique, which was so sweet. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did an amazing job. The whole process took only 45 minutes which confused me because I was under the impression it would take ~2 hours but she did an amazing job. Only a little glue got in my eye but nothing I couldn't handle or wasn't expecting. I did pay the extra $20 for the synthetic lashes but it was very worth it. I read many reviews that people's lashes fell out within a day but it has been nearly two weeks and they still look great!! I can't exactly think of any negatives, maybe that my real lashes do fall out when my fake ones do but at most 2-4 lashes fall out daily and there's about 100 lashes per eye so it's nothing crazy. I had a pretty poor experience here and wouldn't get my eyelashes done by them again.Keep in mind that I haven't had my eyelashes done before so - to be fair - I didn't exactly know what to expect. However, I did research online ahead of time and had some idea of how it would go.I got a full set on Groupon. I expected that to take about 2 hours, but they were finished in about 50 minutes (and that includes the time that they took to pluck my eyebrows). I was surprised by this, but hey - maybe they're fast? However, glue very clearly got in my left eye (it was super red and watery when I looked in the mirror when I was done) and they didn't say anything about it. It burned for almost 2 days after that. So maybe taking a little more time would have helped.Additionally, I was expecting some questions on desired length/color, etc. However, they didn't ask me anything about my preferences and I ended up with extremely stiff dark black long lashes. They looked nice, but not even remotely natural. This was also disappointing because I paid an extra $20 for the mink lashes, only to have them basically look and feel like the lashes that I can glue on myself.Finally, it has been less than 5 days and already a very significant number have fallen out. I noticed the shedding right away and it has been increasing over time to the point where I'm now starting to notice multiple falling off at a time. This is true even though I very carefully avoided all water/sweat for 48 hours, have been doing the comb through, avoiding makeup, etc. Even worse, the lashes keep going crooked so that they are hanging down into my eyes and poking my eye (did I mention that they are super stiff) but I'm afraid to rub them because I don't want to knock more loose. I'm disappointed because I can tell they aren't going to last as long as I would have liked for the price.I saw another review commenting that she felt like she got sub-par service because she was a Groupon customer. I've been wanting to get eyelash extensions for a while, but never wanted to drop $200+ on them. I found the Groupon for Hair Nail Boutique for a reasonable price, and the salon had better reviews than others on Groupon.I was able to book an appointment using Hair and Nail's easy online system for just a few days later. Parking was easy, the only downside of the whole experience was that I had to wait 10-15 minutes until after my appointment time to get started. I got my first set of eyelash extensions (mink) on 12/16 with Dao. She was amazing! It burned a little bit but that's expected. My eyelashes looked amazing afterwards. It's been 3.5 weeks now and I'm still getting loads of compliments on my lashes, and strangers have told me they thought they were real. They still look great! Dao did such a fantastic job coloring and styling my hair! I LOVED the way my hair turned out and I can honestly say it turned out better than I could have ever imagined! She even recommended special products after noticing the shampoo I brought in uses bad ingredients for my type of hair color!  I have not been to a salon in over three years and so this was such a nice treat. I got my first set of eyelash extensions here on a Friday before a trip the following Wednesday. Overall I liked the salon but I would not do it again. Here is my review. About the location: great parking, nice staff, nice location, comfortable eyelash studio, good explanations of services.About the eyelash extensions: I had them applied on Friday, but they were ALL GONE by the following Friday. I was very gentle with my lashes: no wiping or rubbing (dabbing only!!), no oil-based soaps or products, heeded all advice. They started to fall out the first day (one here, one there), and by weeks end there were like 4 on each lid and it looked so bad. I looked like I had alopecia of the eye. On top of that, the service is very expensive ($120 for the set - full top lid silk) and it was recommended that I return in 1-2 weeks for a fill-in. Overall, I liked the salon and I liked the first 2-3 days with the lashes, but they did not last for me and were def not worth the cost. Read Less

Recently got a full lash set with Dao- she came highly recommended by 10 of my coworkers. It was extremely easy to make an appointment (online) and the salon gives detailed instructions regarding lash care. The salon was a tiny bit hard to find- but there is a dedicated lot with free parking. Dao was amazing! She helped me pick the right lash length for my eyes and did incredible work. So much patience. I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions and I am sooo happy I did. The staff took the time to go over the different types of lashes and what would look best on me based on my preferences. I used to go to this salon when I worked close to it. There really was no need to get volume lashes done, since they did a great job with individual lashes. I was very happy with them. I've recently relocated jobs, and not able to make the hike there for lashes. I've gone to three lash techs since then and not really gotten the "WOW" lashes I have with Hair Nail Boutique. Hannah is amazing! She is organized, prompt and efficient! She keeps a great schedule. I wouldn't let anyone else touch my lashes! They look so natural and never over done. Well i come here because its close by my work . Im getting a pedi right now . I feel bad to say this but it took this nail technician to take out my gel pedi about25 mins - she used a nail files to take out my gel . I was planning to get gel but i decide to stop her And get pedi only. Which is really bad too . This place needs to be under investigation to see if these ladies has license or trained . After I was referred by a friend, I went to Dao Nguyen to get my lashes done before I went on vacation to Mexico. Dao did a fantastic job, my lashes stayed very well even after swimming in rough ocean waves, hot Cancun weather, and pool water. They last 3-4 weeks if you take good care of them. Hair & Nail Boutique's pricing is the most affordable you'll find for lashes in the northern Virginia area (I did a lot of research on technicians and pricing before going). They do a special 50% off for your first full set (ends up costing $99) I paid $20 extra to get the silk since they are lighter and don't weigh down your lashes as much. Fills are $50. Most other places are $200 for a full set and $80-$100 for fills! Since getting my lashes done with Dao, I've gotten many compliments on my lashes. After seeing how good mine looked, 4 of my coworkers have gone to her for lash extensions and they've all loved theirs as well! After my last experience, I was invited to come back by the manager and was promised a much better experience....and I was NOT disappointed! Just like last time the staff was super sweet but wow, my nails look amazing. Both of the nail techs that worked on me were very detailed and precise, all the while still making sure I was comfortable and keeping up conversation. I didn't catch the first lady's name, but the second one was Dao and she's amazing. Also, the customer service here is top notch. This place is okay. My boyfriend brought me here to do my hair, nails and get a pedi done. I've gone back a couple of times after. The powder dip they use lifts too quickly I shouldn't have to go back in the same week to get a refill done. So I did the acrylic layer with gel polish and it still lifted. It gets annoying to have to go back every other week.  The hair stylist basically complained about my hair being thick and that I should let her know next time( probably to charge me more) she gave me a trim but still was crooked. The product she used i didn't like it was too sticky. Pedi was good but when I came back to ask for them to just remove the color the pedi lady didn't like it. She was trying to get me to pick a color but I wasn't in my budget to get a pedi but apparently getting your polish taken off cost 45$ at this place. Read Less

I was really nervous about getting eyelash extensions for the first time, but Hana did a great job. After reading some of the reviews I didn't know what to expect. However, my first time was great. I love my lashes and will go here again for a fill. It's been 24 hours and only a few (5-7) have fallen out which I've read is completely normal. Untrained.  Unprofessional.  Sloppy work.  I'm being kind in giving this place 1 star.  I'm looking for a new eyelash place - so I decided to try this place based on reviews.  I called - made an appt a week in advance.  When I arrived the women didn't even look at a book to check me in, there was no liability waiver form ( which is pretty standard for eyelash professionals), and she didn't even call me by name.  There was a walk in who came in right after me- and was taken right away. So clearly the appt isn't required or given preference.  When they requested no waiver form I should have requested to see proof of training on eyelash extensions.  Lesson learned. When she asked me which lashes I wanted - I told her I typically get the mink- so she added some $ amount onto whet she quoted me.  Then the absolute negligence and incompetence became apparent. After she had appropriately put the under eye protectors on - she proceeded to take glue and drip it across my real eyelashes along the edge of the follicles.  She then very quickly started sticking 2-3 grouped strands on top of groups of my eyelashes-she did nothing to separate my eyelashes and individually glue extensions on each real eyelash ( like you're taught to with proper training ).  The result was that she completed a "full set" in less than an hour ( a trained professional typically takes at least 2 hours for a full set). .  One of my follicles had so much glue in it it hurt and I had glue in the eyes causing them to burn and water.  When I told her she told me there was nothing wrong- that I would be fine .... really? I quickly got out of that awful experience - and within less than a week - most of the grouped lashes had fallen out.  One group - near the area she has glued to my follicle actually took with it my real lashes do I I had a gap.  Less than 2 weeks later - I went to a trained professional. And while she was super expensive - but was able to remove the remaining awful lashes and replace them/ fill in my gap.  I've been getting lashes done for over 4 years now - and This was by far my worst experience. . I have been going to Hair & Nail boutique for my nails and eyelash extensions for 6+ months. Since I've started going to them, I've brought several of my friends. I live in DC metro, and it's still worth the drive and fighting the traffic. I have tried many other places closer to my apartment, but no one even compares. Dao is the best! She's sweet and always on point with the lash extensions/refills. I've been going to her for the past 6-7 months and she truly does an amazing job. I've never stayed with a lash lady for this long, so I'd say she's consistently good. She's meticulous, yet quick and she always makes sure that you're happy with the results. Though not the fanciest place nor the most extravagant/glam lashes, it's great for the everyday clean look. I don't wear makeup to work, just mainly the weekends and these don't look so dramatic to the point that they look odd without any makeup on, but they don't look too natural where you can't tell a difference either. They're the perfect balance. I refill every 3 weeks- I'm not constantly rubbing my eyes and I wash my face 2-3x a day. Go to Dao for your eyelash needs!! First timer here; got a full set mink eyelash extension today. The process was easy. Dao was super nice, gentle and fast (took ~1 hr). My eyes stung only very little and they were fine within minutes. Beautiful results! I may just get addicted. They are quite subtle, so I am thinking about going with silk ones next time for drama. I've only gotten my lashes done a couple of times before and the experiences were mediocre so I never kept up with it. It was my birthday last month so I decided to treat myself but also not to hurt my wallet too much. I found this place through recommendations and also for the reasonable price. Anywhere else, a full set was $200+. My full set was done with Linh. She was very friendly and gentle. I even fell asleep! I just came back for my refill appointment, this time was with Dao. I initially saw this place on groupon for $99 and then groupon had a 20% off local deals that brought the total to $74.25. I called to schedule my appointment and was asked to cancel the groupon and that they would honor the price. When I went in everybody was very nice and I was asked if I wanted mink for $20 more, I agreed and my technician went to work. Just moved to the state and needed to have my first set of eyelash extensions replaced so I looked on Groupon for a quality provider, reasonably priced, with respectable reviews when I found Hair & Nail Boutique. I purchased a full set of mink and silk eyelash extensions and was able to book an appointment the very next day. Just upon arrival a representative (Hannah) was doing everything to contact me however I was utilizing my phone for GPS so I disregarded the messages. Once parked she informed me a large storm from last night had left their boutique without power and she was working hastily to notify all clients to reschedule and offered to book me first thing the next morning. When I came back the next day I noticed only some lights were on but the door was unlocked. She informed herself and others were coming in early before business hours to accommodate for the inconvenience. Hannah did an exceptional job maximizing all her time so as to accommodate for an unfortunate circumstance for her employer and her clients. My eyelashes turned out beyond amazing (my husband who notices nothing said he was even impressed) and I have also decided to use their nail technicians so I can have a one stop shop for all my beauty needs.
