Awful customer service. NEVER coming back! I’m a long time customer that has their nails done every two weeks. I always make an appointment as I know it can be busy on the weekends. I called and was given an 11:45 appointment over the phone. When I arrived at 11:46 the girl behind the desk (who was not Nadia) told me my appointment was for 11:30 and they gave it away. When I told her I was told 11:45 on the phone she argued with me and rudely told me I could wait 20-25 minutes if I wanted. NEVER coming back and letting my friends know not to visit this establishment. Mint Nails you just lost a loyal, consistent customer who brought additional business. You need to do better. Read Less

Never coming back after my last visit. The manicure I got can hardly be called so. My nails look and feel horrible. The lady (damn I wish I remembered her name but I'm sure it's the same one another reviewer was talking about), so that lady can not be let near anyone's nails. Seriously. She CAN NOT DO MANICURE! She doesn't know how to remove the cuticle (it was extremely painful and left me bleeding). She didn't even touch the loose skin around my nails.I had to ask her three times to do that and every time she "cleaned" it it looked worse. Eventually she told me that you can't cut the loose skin or it will bleed. Whaaat????!!!! And yes she left it there. Sticking out. Even the dry skin on both sides of my nails. Even after I kept insisting she had to remove it . Even after I told her it does not look like I got my nails done. And believe me I was been very polite and nice to her. I've never been so pissed off about a nail service. And I'm pretty sure the owners of this salon do not care. Otherwise that lady would not work there. Well, ladies, save your nails and money. 2 stars for the fact that they fit me in as a walk-in, but the service left a lot to be desired. I went in for a shellac removal this weekend and was surprised to find that this salon charges $13 dollars for a removal. I am used to paying around $10 for removal, but the service at this salon did not even include filing down the nails. They also use pure acetone(and even recycled cotton balls!!!!!)  which strips the nails and leaves them soft and fragile. I guess if the service had been ok, I would not have had an issue with the $13, but neither the service nor the quality of products used warranted such a high price. Read Less

Wanted to really enjoy this cute place.  My daughter and I went together and they took us on time as scheduled.  I was getting gel nails and she wasn't.  Then the pressure started in her to get the gel many times.   Finally my daughter asked if the gel was extra and she told her no.   So she agreed and got the gel.   We found out at check out it was $25 more and she didn't even want it. I also got my eyebrows waxed.  It was very painful like I was getting cut after the waxing.   She kept plucking on my eyelid where there wasn't even hair!   Today my eyelid is very swollen with cuts.  Very painful. This place is very expensive but I think it's worth it if you're looking for a treat from your regular mani/pedi at your local salon. Their standard pedis come with hot stone and parrafin treatment. You also get hot stone with your mani. I wouldn't come here regularly cause you'll go broke! But definitely a nice treat here and there and they have tons of great colors to choose from. I will admit I am very particular about my nail shape and have no issues asking my tech to fix something, but that is frustrating to have to do when you're paying a lot of money. They should perfect every mani and pedi they do, in my opinion, and make sure your nails are as close to same size/shape as possible. That's why I am giving 3 stars. My tech was sweet but she cut me several times while filing my nails and burned me several times when she was going over my acrylics with the electric filer. Came in for a simple acrylic removal. Why did 3 different technicians work on me? And even when I made an appointment they told me they had other appointments and that my nails were taking too long. On top of that, the woman was "done" and left me with powder all over my nails, and dried acrylic/acetone mix scaly patches all over my hands. Cut on two nails. Read Less

Great service, great interior, and great selection of nail products! The high price is worth it.After a friend's recommendation, I finally gave Mint a try for a gel manicure and pedicure. I couldn't decide on what color I needed for a special occasion and the girl who works at the front quickly helped me find a color that would match my dress. She went above and beyond in finding my color and making sure I was happy with my choice!The pedicure bowl is lined, as I expect from a place in this price point. The place is very clean, though small. I do love the modern feel of the interior. It makes for a better experience!My technician was awesome. She was great in every step of the way. She was careful with my cuticles, accurate in how she cut my nails, and applied the polish with additional layers to make sure the white color is showing. I'm still enjoying my beautiful nails a week later! Still looks fresh. I've been a customer at Mint for almost two years! There are so many reasons why you should be a customer there too... I personally see Milly every 2 weeks that said, there are a number of great technicians. As with any salon my suggestion is once you find someone you like stick with them it's worth it. Overall, the customer service is phenomenal -- Nadia who typically runs the show at the front desk will ensure your service meets your expectations and is great with recommendations for polishes, service types, etc. JUST ASK :) This salon is also one of the most hygienic places -- cleanliness is a must! I will say you get what you pay for and while it's not the cheapest service in the area you'll walk away feeling pampered. Very disappointed. Had wanted to try this place out for the longest time and finally got a chance this past weekend. My friends planned a bachelorette party to start here with mani/pedis, champagne and snacks. That part was fabulous. The salon was very accommodating and offered discounts to the group. You also are guaranteed to have a great time when you're with great friends. The problem was with the service I got in particular, which was terrible. The tech did one of the worst jobs painting my nails (areas missed, second coat doesnt cover the whole nail), feet still rough because she didn't exfoliate them and didn't even provide a massage to arms and legs which is standard. It was all very rushed. Probably because my group was large and they were trying to rush us out it felt like. Most of the ladies in my group were happy with their results which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1. I on the other hand rate this one of the worst mani/pedis I've ever had. Read Less

This is the worst experience by far. My friend and I went their to get manicure and pedicure. My friend got the Delux treatment. Which is around 130 dollars plus. She first complained to me about how aggressive and rough the technician is, 15 mins later, I get in the spa again to check on my friend, her face is furious and she seemed very uncomfortable. That when she told me that her hands burn, she's in pain and want to leave. I rushed the front desk to inform them that my friends fingertips and cuticules are bleeding and I want to know how the sterilize and DISINFECT their equipment. If they barbacide. They do, but still she bleed and I hope she doesn't get any kind of infection. The front desk girl checked on my friend, said she will talk to a manager, gave us some meds, and the spa tried to reach the owner, but we were informed that she is not picking up. The manager apologized. My fri3nd just wanted to get out in tears and pain. Funny, we still got charged for the services that was done. Got 20 dollars off. The main thing is that customer service, satisfaction is horrible. They spa admitted it's their fault. I am sure VPOR won't be happy to know about that. I have never experienced anything so bad in my life, and they didn't seem to care, but told us thank you for your feedback.We were referred to go there. I won't refer anyone to go there. The service and how they handled the situation is no where close to being acceptable. I am sure a vet would have done a better job. Read Less

I went in for the first time on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't too crowded. I was excited to give this place a try...it was clean and they have a great choice of colors. However, my tech rushed my manicure and there were areas around my nails not cleaned up :/ I guess you have to notify them a couple times how to clean your nails! Read Less

I'll actually give this place 3.5 stars. I understand Mosaic is an up and coming area but sh*t... $44 for a gel manicure?! You've got to be kidding me. Let's start with the positives. I would give their customer service a 5 because their service was great. From greeting us to making sure we didn't wait too long and to making sure we were satisfied, they were great. They offered us water/tea as well. But for $44, where's the booze?! Their gel color selection was great. Tons of shades to choose from. I love neutral tones and they had so many great nudes to choose from - I actually went with 2! Skill level? I would say average. I guess I'm spoiled living in LA, I have so many great nail artists who kill it with nail art but this place seemed to struggle. I had to ask repeatedly to fix this and that. From cuticles to filing to dust particles, I felt the attention to detail lacked. My nail tech def did her best to make sure I was satisfied so for that, I will give her an A for effort. I guess I'm just bitter that I paid $50 to get 2 stars on my nails for something I'd normally pay $35-40 for. Tip: they give you a 5% discount if you pay in cash. Read Less

Long review here, be warned. I'm very torn as I write this review. I wanted to absolutely LOVE this place because we are frequent visitors of the Mosaic and it looked so fabulous. However the only thing I loved about my experience with Lena was my nail color. Pros: -the decor is beautiful, chic and low key. -location is perfect, surrounded by shopping and some of our favorite restaurants. -the receptionist is a doll! - very clean. And now the cons: -felt pushed toward a gel color on top of my acrylics that I was simply filling, then snubbed when I politely declined, twice. - asked for a certain shape and was told they weren't long enough and I should remove and get a new full set (declined that too, only had the set 3 weeks) - showed picture for another shape and length, she said okay; zero consistency! Each nail is a different shape, ranging from a short coffin style, to almond, to round. They also bubble out on the edges on a few. At least, though, they aren't uber thick, but so uneven across the surface. - she was so unbelievably rough. It was the most painful service I've ever received, from Maine to Miami. Horrible. I have 3 bleeding cuticles, and all of them are swollen and red. If this had been my very first nail experience I would NEVER do it again. Not even the accidental nip from cuticle cutters; Lena took a paper towel with something on it and OBLITERATED my cuticles with it, scrubbing back and forth with a ridiculous amount of pressure; I've had acrylics off and on and regular manicures for over 15 years, I have no idea why that step was necessary. And not once did she apologize when my cuticles bled. Didn't even bat an eyelash. -finally, she left me with my nails in front of the fan to dry, walked away and never came back. Not at all. Walked by me multiple times, never spoke or looked in my direction. I finally just got up and paid my bill ($25 for a fill, totally fine price, be aware you must pay tip in cash). Had I not been in a rush to get to my next appointment I would have complained. I really didn't notice the condition of my nails until I was in my car. If Lena has been doing nails for 18 years, as she told me, I hope I simply caught her on an off day. I have seen beautiful work done by Holly and Millie, so I will maybe try Mint one more time with one of them. It's a very small maybe, unfortunately. Read Less

Had a $19 manicure. Cuticles are uneven and painted over- looks terrible. Didn't care for the massage with the stone- it was too big for my arms and hands so it didn't massage any of the little muscles. Nail tech didn't understand even a little bit of English - we had a hard time communicating over the most basic thing and that annoys me. On the plus side they have a nice selection of polishes including zoya and Deborah Lippmann and they offer you tea. Even if the prices were reasonable I wouldn't return. Read Less

My best friend and I have tried numerous nail salons in NoVa & have found the one we love! The ladies at Mint are all very sweet, professional, & amazing at what they do! As dental hygienists we both value cleanliness above anything else & we've always been pleased with their systems. Beautiful atmosphere, the BEST massage chairs I've ever sat in, & I've loved every woman I've worked with! Front desk is quick, efficient, & super friendly.
