It was late but I desperately needed my toes and nail done and came to the mall since salons here open later. I have normally went to nail pro and never felt satisfied so I wanted to try Zoe's which had better ratings but their tech was gone and they said angel nails was upstairs. As my toes were getting done I decided to look up angel nails. They had bad reviews but my experience was far from bad. Lynn did my toes and nails and Tiffany finished it up. They were WONDERFUL! Lynn let me try on a few options because I couldn't decide which color I liked and was so careful with details. And even though it was late Lynn gave me a great foot massage and callous removal (for free - I saw someone say it was charged but I didn't get any extra charges). I didn't get any hand massage or anything extra with it but I hadn't asked or requested plus it was late. Anyway - I loved my nails as well (I got a new shape and they were really great!) the price was very good too - $85 for gel mani and gel pedi!! Nail Pro would charge over $100 for much lower quality. I don't know what's up with some of the lower reviews - my experience was great. But I believe Lynn and Tiffany only work on the weekends- so I will definitely be coming back then to see them! Place is okay.  The massage on the feet and hands were mediocre but she did a good job with the polish.  And yes to remove callouses its an extra $5 so the price is not all that cheap. Trying to pay by credit card and the system is down.  They wanted me to get money out of their ATM which would charge me a fee.  I don't think so.  And they are not willing to pay that fee. Literally stood there for 10 mins before anyone acknowledged me. Two employees walked up to the front counter and didn't even acknowledge my presence. All i wanted was a gift card. I got my nails done this week and quickly thereafter noticed my nails were turning color and looked as though they had ink on them. I returned today and was told that it was not the polish, but my nails ( which they did) having a "reaction". They refused to change the polish unless I paid an additional $25 to change the polish. The nail techs are unclean and do not sterilize equipment after use. I also watched one tech rinse a pedicure bowl with water and not use disinfectant after completing a customer. When I mentioned it, the other techs around started yelling oh she’s about to do it now. I said she wasn’t going to do it until I said something. The ladies all told her and she used disinfectant and cleaned again the proper way. Public Health is a a serious concern and we will NEVER return again. This place doesn’t deserve my money & support if they don’t care enough about my health to clean before and after me. I will be following up with Fairfax County Health Department. Read Less

I literally had two people say to me "I thought you got your nails done." I'm going to try to get a full refund. Update: I went in to get a refund. The lady present was on her iPad feet up relaxing and extremely rude as if I interrupted her. She accused me of not even being there on Friday and asked for a receipt. Why would anyone do that, but I digress? She eventually agreed to call the manger, who was very nice but refused a refund offering to redo instead. I agreed, but the redo got off to a rough start. The rude woman was clearly mad she was being forced to redo my nails since she didn't handle in the first place. She insisted on lecturing me saying I must have done something. She then said her colleague appeared to have forgotten a top coat. She asked me what color I wanted, presented me with the same old polish option. I then asked her for a recommendation, explaining I had travel coming up and needed it to last at least one week. She laughed and said calm down. I'm not big on long reviews but I want to make sure people know about her unprofessional and rude behavior. I also wanted people to know about the refund policy. I have been to the Fair Oaks Mall Angel Nails location a few times for manicure and pedicure. This weekend I had a gel French manicure and regular pedicure. Overall, the positives of the salon include cleanliness, availability for walk-in appointments and lasting gel manicures. I would recommend calling and making an appointment with Sophia before coming in. Each time I have gotten my nails done at this location it has been a different price. I feel that I was overcharged when the same mani/pedi was $50 last month and I paid $70 this time. Other than the price, I believe they do a quality job with gel manicures. Read Less

I don't know the name of the person who did my nail, unfortunately. She filed down my previous shellac so much that my nails were pink and thin. The paint job is extremely sloppy. The tips are all uneven, the bottoms near my cuticles are bad and will catch on my hair within a few days, there are "wings" of shellac that I'll have to file down. She didn't wait long enough for the paint to dry in between coats, so the tip color is smeared all over the rest of the nail. It's really awful. I wish I could post a picture!! Read Less

It's unfortunate this place has bad reviews because I go here once a month to get a gel manicure by Jennie. Maybe it's because I only see Jennie and she is AMAZING! I have really thin, brittle nails and it's difficult to find nail technicians who know how to get the gel to stay on. Jennie does the best gel manicure I have ever had and I have been getting gel for 6 years. She is the only nail technician I can find that makes my manicure last for 3 full weeks, no joke! I stopped in this weekend to get my nails done with my best bud. I am from CO and my hands are dry (I dont usually get manicures). The technician was clearly very visibly upset that I had dry hands, and my french manicure was done very sloppy, with the edges of my nails exposed, and little bubbles in the white part of the manicure. She went out of her way to make me feel stupid and ugly, and she would say what i can only assume were insults TO MY FACE in her language (and then she and her asian colleague laughed for at least 2 minutes straight). If I could give 0 stars I would, this place is atrocious. I got gel nails on a Wednesday, and on Sunday I noticed most of my nails were chipping. I went back on that same Sunday and asked them to redo it since I paid so much and after arguing with them for about 15 mins the lady finally agreed to do it. It's been about 24 hours later and one of my nails chipped again. These are supposed to last atleast a week and it barely lasts a day. I have been going to Angel Nails for about a year on and off, I usually have "Tiffany" do my nails, however today she was busy and they gave me someone else whose name is "Jessica". I told Jessica that I needed the Salon Pedicure which runs $45.00 and a fill and repair/gel nails which runs about $35 to 40. with tip I get out of there with a little over $100. The pedicure went fine and then we went to Jessica's station and again, discovered that she did not speak English, did not understand well, and so I pointed to my nail and told her that I wanted my nails to look just like that nail. My nails are mine, I have the gel on top and she proceeded to cut down and shape the nails so horribly that there was no way to repair the ridiculous job that she did. I told her to stop and "Tiffany" came over and then called her manager that she told me was watching everything and she pointed to cameras at the front entrance. She tells me that the manager is always watching.  This really gave me the creeps.  Seriously, why is this guy monitoring everything all the time? Anyway, Tiffany asks me to speak to the manager and he tells me that Jessica should have listened to me, that this is her error and that Tiffany will repair with the powder.  Then he tells me that everything is on the house and that he does not want to lose me as a customer.  Ok..I said, I doubt she will be able to fix this and I am not going to go through this "tip" thing again, that I had grown my nails out and that I did not want them to cut them down and put tips on.  I was told by Tiffany that it was the only way.  Ok, cutting them down, adding powder and my nails look like hell. With using the keyboard, cleaning house, laundry, yard work...they aren't going to last.  I am told that if they don't last that I will need to come in every time ....Question...who in the hell has time to run to the nail salon when their substandard work breaks???  Not me!  My husband stops by to pick me up and I show them their work and he says 'you have got to be kidding, are you serious"?? Until I got there, my nails were long, shaped well and needed a refill and one repair. Now they are short and stubby,  I will say that Tiffany did her best, but Jessica does a crappy job and I would not recommend her to anyone. Now, while all this is going on, a woman who had her nails done asked to have her brows done. So, a woman that works there, wearing a turquoise and white dress takes her to the room and the woman comes out very angry stating that the woman did not know what she was doing and that she did not want her touching her again.  So, ladies,,,,if you know whats good for you, DO NOT GO TO ANGEL NAILS....there are plenty of other nail salons in the area that are not as expensive, do good work, and are not being watched by the owner of the salon.  If you do go, do not let "Jessica" touch you, she will not do a good job and you will have regret.  Tiffany is fine, but, like the rest of the women working there, they are all vietnamese, speak little to no English.  When I pointed out to the owner that the ability to communicate, to understand and be understood is not happening. I was told that "Jessica" has been in the USA for 5 years, and yet, does not speak English.  Before anyone bitches at me about this issue, I am a card carrying Democrat, a liberal and I don't have an issue with immigration and naturalization. My problem is that many of the folks refuse to learn the English language, My mother and my mother in law were from Germany and Hungary respectively and when they immigrated to the US they learned English and could speak, read, understand and be understood. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be understood in a business environment. Finally, Tiffany was done, she asks me if I am happy, and I told her no, I was not happy and that I would not be returning, that I would give a review on yelp and that it was not going to be kind. I asked her for the name of the woman, and she wrote it down on a card.  And so, here I am, writing a scathing review and very resentful that even after the "owner" told me that I would not have to pay anything, they handed me a bill for the pedicure.  In the year that I have been going to Angel Nails, there hasn't been a time when I did not witness some customer raging at something that one of these women had done to them. I won't return to Angel Nails, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Frankly speaking, they are unprofessional, you cannot understand them and they certainly cannot understand you. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went there yesterday to get a pedi and gel mani with my mom. I wish I could remember the name of the lady who did my nails so that I could advise anyone who goes there not to let her touch you. She did my toes which I honestly liked. It didn't look too professional but I don't really like to complain so I didn't say anything, you can say it looked presentable. She then started doing my gel manicure which she did very fast. The color I loved but my nails looked like I did them myself in the middle of the night. She didn't cut my cuticles, there was actual nail paint on my fingers, it was messy and very sloppy. Once I stepped out I again, did not want to complaint but my mom insisted I should just nicely ask her to fix it. I came back and asked her to fix it and she gave me the biggest attitude. She started "cleaning" the nail polish from my finger and then asked me if I wanted another coat. I said I didn't want another coat I just wanted her to fix the messiness.. I could see her getting upset and talking to her coworkers in her language. Se grabs my hand to show them because according to her there was nothing wrong. I told her thank you and got up. My mom suggested I should ask to speak to a manager so I came up to her and asked to speak to a manager. She said she was the manager which I'm pretty sure was a lie. I told her again, " listen, you can't sit here and tell me this looks professional, this looks like I did it myself" I pointed out all the mistakes and she insisted she didn't see anything. She grabs my arm and pulls me towards her to show my hand to her coworkers. Her coworker says they can take off the nail polish and then give me a refund. Btw the total was 60.00 and I gave her 10.00 tip. So I'm not gonna pay $70 for something that looks like I did it myself at home. Anyways, this lady is being loud and rude and making a huge scene. At this point everyone is staring at me and I could tell she was talking about me. She started telling me that she never had someone who complained so much before and that I was picky etc, she went on and on telling me basically how annoying I was. Then she said that she could only give me back the money for the gel which was 35.00. I said okay sure also, please give me my tip back. She basically threw the 10 dollar bill to my face. She kept talking about me out loud to her coworkers in their language and laughing. I told her nicely "I know you're talking about me just because you're not speaking English doesn't mean I can't tell, maybe if you had done a better job I wouldn't be complaining".As she was removing the gel she hurt my cuticles. I was in extreme pain and my cuticles are now swollen. Then later she calls her boss because I guess they couldn't proceed with the refund and makes me talk to him on her cellphone. He kindly apologizes and says he can't do the refund but someone else will fix my nails. Eventually another lady her name is Tiffany, did an amazing job and agreed with me. I still would never go back to this place, this went on for two hours I literately wanted the earth to swallow me I was so embarrassed. I honestly wouldn't even give this 2 stars. The technician who did my nails did a superb job and he was very friendly. However, my experience here was undermined due to a very rude lady. She made inappropriate racial comments in Vietnamese not knowing that I could understand her and proceeded to ask her coworkers if they could get me and my boyfriend to leave because it was taking my nails too long to dry. After I paid, I asked her if she had any problems with us and her response was to belittle me and refute me by saying that I did not understand what she was saying. How? I'm Vietnamese also? I came here in the middle of a weekday, and there were no other patrons in the place. I got a gel manicure, and it was very rushed and sloppy. The lady hardly talked to me, and instead pointed and grunted when she wanted me to switch hands. First time I tried it and they were terrible. I asked for gel acrlyic nails and the lady did a awful job. She rushed the entire process and didn't brush the gel on well. Walked in and was asked to come back in 20 minutes. Did so. Wanted a mani pedi and it said $40. Older lady did it, and she was just meh. I didn't really enjoy the mani pedi - probably wouldn't go there again. Upon paying, I forgot to add tip on the card so I asked her to swipe my card again for a tip. She was SO rude, she just looked at me and said no, bye and went back to her customer. I was so annoyed, I had the card in my hand and asked her one more time to swipe the card for a tip and she just shrugged and attended her customer. After that I politely said thank you and left. Sooo much better than Nail Pro downstairs. This place has more technicians and the space is more organized and modern. The tools used were clean and straight out of the pack which was a relief. I got a basic manicure with gelish French polish. My thumb nail was chipped down to the skin and the tech suggested a couple of ways to repair it so I wouldn't have to cut the entire nail off and start the growing process all over again. When it was time for my pedicure a female tech completed it. I am uncertain why the techs switched but the lady was just as friendly as the guy and did a good job as well. The prices are not listed anywhere on the walls so I had no idea how much anything costed until it was time to pay. When I first moved to the area, I decided to try Angel Nails on a whim. I have very short thin nails so I like getting the pink and white acrylic. I was greeted immediately and taken back to a woman who proceeded to ask me what I wanted.  I explained not too long, white tips, squared off and natural looking. She told me to sit down and got to work.She was not overly rough. I did not get cut. The end result however was the worst I had ever seen. The pink was way too pink, lines were not straight and there were ridges in my nails. Within a couple days they began to lift. I have to think the product they were using was subpar or too old.I am thankful to have found my current nail salon. When I showed her what Angel Nails had done, she just shook her head and proceeded to remove all that they had plastered on.
