Only giving a one star because I can't give zero. Had my nails done here and one broke two days later. When I went to get it fixed there where people waiting for two hours and sat other people as soon as they walked in. I have given this place chance after chance! Unfortunately, when my salon is not open, this is the only other place to choose from. Being that I will be leaving out of town in the morning, I had no other choice. These people dont even LISTEN! I have long natural nails (so its as simple as it gets, no fake nails no nothing). I simply asked that my nails be painted with gel polish and have two designs (one on each ring finger)...... My once long and beautiful nails are now short and stubby! The nail polish doesnt even cover my whole nails (looks like I have press ons on). ALL my nails were filed to a slant, square tip (I specifically asked to keep my natural oval shape). Then the nail tech tried to design all my nails (I nicely said no, just the two ring fingers)...... And last but definitely not least, the designs.... The designs I paid for.... Those designs are literally...a gold strip (sticker mind you) across my nail........................... I cannot and will not return to this place. They have gotten me for my money too many times. I had a wonderful experience at Nail Trix and love the work Blake did on my nails. Blake's dad did my pedicure and was very attentive, asking about the water temperature and setting the chair's massage function for me. I showed Blake a picture of what I had in mind for an upcoming vacation. His work is prettier than the picture. He was fun to talk with during the manicure and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. I cannot remember being this excited about how my nails look ! Love love this place ! We made an appointment for 11 girls on a Friday at 2:30PM and they were able to accommodate us all within a reasonable amount of time ! Eveyone was really nice and detailed oriented. We didn't feel rushed at all. Also they literally have the BIGGEST selection of nail polish I have ever seen and they have them sampled on plastic nails so it's super easy to pick out colors. A++!! Read Less

I usually go to nail salons back home but since I'm in college I wanted to get a gel fill-in for the time being. My nail tech was Blake and he was basically rude to me the entire time. I understand people have bad days, but he didn't even greet me. I wanted to see if this salon offered chrome nails and he told me I had to go on his Instagram page. I didn't have phone service at the time to even go on his Instagram, so I had to settle for a regular polish. I can tell that this salon was busy and short staffed, but the service I received made me wish I went elsewhere... I'm upset that I went to this business and my gel fill in is below average in shape and quality. Read Less

I think there are reasons for the mixed reviews. The staff here didn't make an effort. They were not polite or friendly, which is pretty important in a customer service sort of place. In top of that the job was not thorough and was pretty hurried. I realize that people have off days, but this is not a vibe you pass on to the customer.... Not good. Read Less

New to the area and looking for a regular nail shop as I get a mani/pedi weekly and my eyebrows waxed came  here last week without an issue this week was another story. I always bring my own base coat and polish but asked for a matte top coat wasn't until AFTER that she said it was $3 extra. It's not a big deal but I would of preferred to be told before the service. Then she demanded I pay in the middle drying my nails as if I was gonna leave. where am I going to go we are in a mall! I will say that I am in sweat pants due to just getting out of class but still I am just getting my nails done. My eyebrows came out OK. I will not be back but might have to due to the convince. Ok so there are mixed reviews about this place but I decided to give it a chance.  I was sorely disappointed for my efforts. When I showed up I was the only one there and they were cleaning the shop, and at first no one approached me after I stood around for approximately 5 minutes. I asked someone there if they were open and minded doing a pedicure (this was at 7pm on a weekday where their hours are until 9). The gentlemen there just didn't seem at all excited to have my business. But once I sat down it was fine. I was asked if I was comfortable and struck up a very pleasurable conversation with the young man doing my pedicure. I was pleased with the job he did as he was doing it and even tipped extra because I thought he did a great job. However I received this pedicure on Monday night and as of Tuesday the polish was already chipped on most of my toes. I paid $27 (plus tip) and I am not an unreasonable person, but a pedicure should last much longer than a day. I am so bitterly disappointed. I was visiting Christiansburg and needed a gel fill.  This seemed to be the only place in town, maybe I just didn't look hard enough.  The wait was long, and the service was rushed.  The nail tech cut my nails back so far they barely reached the ends of my fingers.  It was a nail fill, and not brain surgery so it wasn't the end of the world, but on future trips to Christiansburg I'll look a little harder to find another place if I need a fill. The salon needs a good scrubbing and  to show customers you sanitize the tools.  How hard is it to greet a customer and ask how they want their nails done?  No one expects chatting and being friends.  But respect and showing the customer you want their business would be nice.  The only reason this place is busy is because they are in this little mall.  The tats and face piercings are not professional. The hair all in your face and treating customers rudely is poor for business. I am glad you don't need my hard earned money.  I won't bother you again! Read Less

They are incredibly rude and when I took my daughter back in and asked them to fix the horrible fill in they did, they waited until she got in the seat and then brought other employees to intimidate her, asking her if she had ever had her nails done before, because that would explain why she didn't think it was a good job. Nail Trix always does a great job with my mani-pedis and their prices are fairly reasonable. I often go here with my wife and we both enjoy ourselves. They have any colors that we want, our nails look great, and it's a very relaxing, enjoyable time.The only real downside is that the customer service is strangely lacking. I gave a one star rating because of the crappy service, horrible manners, fluctuating prices, and overall unwelcoming atmosphere. I have visited nail trix to get fills on my acrylics a few times and the only good thing I have to say is the prices are decent. Besides that, not only are the manners and customer service of the owner appalling but so are those of her employees who seem to think their job is a burden and treat every customers as if they shouldn't be there. To give two examples, the last time (which happened to be today) I was there to get a fill done, the owner cut open the side of my finger with one of the drills used to file acrylics down. Not only did she try to cover it up by cutting off the hanging skin and wiping up the blood, she did not clean the utensil afterwards, and I know my blood got on there. The dirtiness level is astounding for a place that you should feel safe from getting bacterial infections from unclean tools. I never got an apology for the damage she did to my finger either. Example two happened to my friend who was also with me today. She had been there two weeks prior and got the same gel manicure with designs on two fingers. However, today the prices was 7 dollars higher and when she asked the owners daughter why, she was brushed off and ignored. So when she went and asked the older woman, the was directed towards a well concealed sign under one of the stools that described her designs as "elaborate" and therefore more expensive even though she never asked for anything special and they were the same she got last time. The rude and abrasive attitudes of these employees is completely unacceptable and frankly unprofessional. I don't think it is too much to ask to be treated with some amount of respect considering it is their livelihood and based on the satisfaction of their customers. Overall, I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was an awkward and uncomfortable 25 minutes and I will never be returning. Read Less

I'm torn on this review.The gel manicures I've gotten are excellent.  The polish is beautiful and lasts for weeks and the shape of my nails is perfect.  The lady who does the waxing does a great job on my eyebrows.  I like for them to be cleaned up but not scary pencil thin and they are perfect each time.  But.  When I go in the store sometimes, it's abundantly clear that they don't want me to be there.  As a customer, I hate to feel like a burden to the people providing the service.  I'm polite and tip well, so I don't want to feel bad for being there. Do not use this salon - in fact, please read Google+ reviews first if you don't believe mine. I moved to the area in August with a beautiful set of pink and whites, they were ruined after one time with this salon. I had the owner (male) as my technician. After providing the gel fill, my nails looked like duck bills - high at the cuticle, low in the middle, and actually slanted up on the end (and very thick on the ends). Since I wanted to grow out the white from the pink and whites so I could do regular polish this fall, I asked him to touch up the white with a bit of polish until the white was completely buzzed off. While he didn't have an issue with that, he literally globbed white polish on the end of the nail, and used a full-sized paintbrush to draw a straight line on the nail itself. So now in addition to the duck bill nail, I now had a glob of polish (bump) on the end of the nail. When I showed him what my nails looked like from the side, all I got was a "yeah, yeah" and he kept going. I paid $38.00 for this mess, and even though I said I wasn't happy, he walked away after I paid. That night, the gel white polish peeled off, and by the next day, the gel overlay was lifting and peeling as well. What a mess! I read the comments on Google+ too late. I read a couple bad reviews and was really upset by them so I thought I should put in my two cents. I visit Nail Trix at least twice a month to get a gel manicure and sometimes a pedicure. My nails always look great and last until I return to get them done in a couple weeks. When I walk in, they recognize me and get me a seat immediately, even if I have to wait until they're finished with someone else to actually start on my nails.This place is a family owned business which I think is really cool--the mom and dad and all three kids (who are also full time college students) work every day of the week to keep the place open! Because they're located in the mall, they must stay open anytime the mall is open. Anyone who wrote a mean Google review about them not being friendly--I would like to see that person work every day of the week and not have at least one day when you don't feel like chatting it up with everyone who you come in contact with! One of the guys who works there, Ton, is who I have started requesting to see when I go because he does gel manicures SO well! In talking with him one of the many times I have gone, I also discovered that he has attended training for gel nail products and will be helping to teach more training classes through OPI! The main point--they do excellent work! Go get your nails done, whether it be a pedicure, regular manicure, gel, or acrylic....which by the way, they do awesome nail designs....which I have never gotten but I have watched a lot being done while I'm in the shop! While you may not walk out feeling like you just had the best conversation in the world with the nail artist, you WILL walk out with great looking nails for a good price. Before I started going to Nail Trix regularly, I tried out every other nail salon in Blacksburg because that's closer to my house, and nowhere else even compares! GO! You won't regret it! Read Less
