Great atmosphere and customer service. Everyone was friendly and one of the nail technicians was extremely funny. It was an entertaining experience. Plus, my nails came out fabulous—my nail shape was touched up and Ms Rose made them look SOO much better than the last salon I visited and she even gave me a mini hand massage after finishing my nails!! No one has ever gave me a hand massage after a fill in, how can I ever go anywhere else again after that?! Lol! This is amazing and weird! They spent over an hour massaging and taking care of us. I didn't feel like they were rushing us! Worth every penny!! I wish I could give a 10 star review. I went here based on the recommendation from a friend so I was really excited to try a new nail salon. I get there on a Saturday evening, about 2 hours before their 7:30pm closing. There were two people sitting in the waiting area when I walked in. One lady was finished waiting on her child to get done and another was waiting to be seen. No big deal. I get asked what I would like: "shellac manicure and regular pedicure." I sit down and wait. I wait for about 40-50 minutes just to be taken back to the pedicure chair, which I was then told didn't work . I see there are only THREE nail techs working, with about a total of 10-12 people getting their nails done (4 in the pedicure chair, not including myself), not to include the one lady that walked in for an eyebrow wax. They filled up the pedicure tub with extremely hot water, I couldn't keep my feet in it and then they added some cold water. I asked the tech if they had any matching polishes for the shellac I picked and they said "uhh maybe. we have about a dozen" (FYI!) So turns out the shellac I picked didn't have a matching polish so they tried to find one for my toes. The color they found was little off, but whatever. I was tired at this point and just wanted to leave. I get my pedicure, which was just ok. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary great about it. Then the tech states "can you go sit over on the second station for your manicure? Other people are requesting me." Ok sure. So another tech (older woman with glasses) starts on my shellac mani. Again, nothing spectacular or great about the manicure. In fact, she didn't even cut my nails even and I had to tell her to make them even. So why only 2 stars? My nails look like they needed a touch-up near the cuticle because she didn't even polish the entire nail (including the sides). Needless to say, I won't be returning or recommending this place. Was looking for a new nail salon so turned to Yelp. Was immediately put in a chair as I walk in. Hong was my nail tech. I did a shellac manicure. She did a great job. New to the area and really needed my acrylics filled, so I decided to come to Icon because of all the positive 5 reviews. I arrived without an appointment around 11:30am on a Friday and waited a few minutes while a nail tech finished with a client. A sweet young lady who worked there asked to see my nails while I was waiting and asked if my polish was gel, and when I said yes she gave me a basket of gel polish swatches so I could pick my color. When the gentleman was ready to do my nails, he sat me down and helped me decide between two colors I had chosen. I let him know I wanted a glitter polish on top and he said that he will do my ring finger first; just to make sure I still wanted glitter on top of each nail. I let him know I wanted the coffin shape of my nails touched up/re shaped because I wasn't satisfied with the last salon that did it. I showed him a picture and said: "okay! We will copy that nail shape!" And he did a perfect job. He was gentle, took his time, and had extreme attention to detail. He was talkative and I felt very welcome. I came here to get my nails done after my engagement and to treat my sister to a pedicure for her birthday. We came just before the rush, so we were able to get started after only about a 20 minute wait. Shortly after we got started, several other people came in and the wait quickly turned into an hour.Most of the people were friendly enough, but it took a while for anyone to acknowledge that we had entered the salon. And the first thing anyone said to us was basically "what do you want?"The lady that did my nails didn't speak much to me. She just handed me the colors to choose from and walked away before coming back to do my nails. When I didn't understand what she wanted me to do, she kind of just looked at my like I should know better.My nails, however, did look great. I can see why this place has so many 5-star reviews! I came in for a pedicure (called ahead, 10 minutes prior) and they got my pedi started as soon as I'd picked my color. Hong, my nail technician even offered to try a few colors if I couldn't make up my mind.I went with the spa pedicure, which was quite reasonably priced at $32. It's been a long time since I've stepped foot in a nailSalon (5 years). In my high school years I always has acrylic nail, and maybe it was my bad experience back then that it made me stop getting them. Well after weeks of research (Yelp) I decided to give this place a try. I came across other places which had hundreds of mixed reviews but this place has a couple reviews but all 5 stars (the reason I decided to come here). And I am so glad I did! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a nice older lady who made me feel so welcomed. I got my nails done by Key, and he was AMAZING! So friendly and made me laugh, he has a great personality! i went with acrylics with a coffin shape (I showed him a picture of the shape I wanted). He helped me pick out a gel nail color since there was so many options, and I'm so happy I went with his suggestion, I LOVE LOVE the color! The place is also very clean, and they take their time, even with a few ladies waiting, I never felt as he was rushing to finish my nails. I love this place. If you want people who care about your nails go here. They take their time and and have great customer service. The place is also really clean! I paid $25 for a full set and it was what I asked for. I asked for a skinnier oval and showed him a picture and he replicated. Most salons do fat ovals that are the size of large nail files and when I ask for skinny ovals they give me almond, with a pointed tip. No. No. No. Most nail salons don't do what you ask and will make you feel SUPER uncomfortable to ask for modifications or something else. But these people ask if you like it. I really love this place! I drive past two other nail salons (both of which I have tried) to come to Icon! Not only are they friendly and attentive, their salon is clean and they ALWAYS give me excellent results!I also love to bring my daughter with me because they are so sweet to her! They have a kids version of a Pedi that is less expensive that allows my daughter to join me without full-blown doubling the cost.I'm grateful to have found a welcoming place that I can relax and spoil myself a little and include my daughters as well! I've been getting my manicures and pedicures here for more than 2 years now. The place is nice and the nail technicians are friendly. The prices here are awesome! Other nail salons I've been to are way too expensive. The best time to go is during the morning on the weekdays. It can get a little packed during the day. I decided to check out Icon Nails based on the positive reviews on Yelp and the close proximity to my house. The salon is located to the left of Farm Fresh in the Orchard Square shopping center, just outside of the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach border. I came in to get my eyebrows waxed and I was immediately seen.  The woman that helped me was super friendly and she did such an awesome job with my eyebrows. First time visiting this salon and I tried the shellac manicure. I walked in and was greeted and they were friendly the whole time. Downfall was the wait time I went on a Monday evening around 6 and only one person was waiting when I walked in but I still waited almost an hour but I will say part of the wait time was because they don't rush to get you out the chair and only 3 techs were working at the time and they were all with customers when I arrived. I'd definitely come again but I'd maybe try coming early on a Saturday morning as soon as they open or make an appt. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back. Read Less
