I've never been to this salon until yesterday, and I'm completely nail salon-illiterate, meaning I have no clue what to do after walking into a salon, and it takes forever for me to choose a color or style (my job is very particular about nails). I get my nails professionally done maybe once or twice a year for that reason, and since they're usually on the long side, I only get them shaped and polished. Well, this time, I'd broken over half of them so I was in need of lengthening as well as polish. I came as prepared as I can be and even stopped by the ATM to take out cash for a tip!Usually when I enter a salon, someone greets me immediately and asks me to pick a color/what service I plan to receive/take a seat and wait, but that didn't happen here. I stood for a short second not knowing what to do and took a seat after noticing the chairs. A man came up and asked me what I wanted. I told him, well, I tried to tell him that I wanted the "Spa Manicure". There was an accent barrier, but I heard him mention "Pedicure", I told him I didn't want that, I want the manicure. At this time I wasn't sure if I should mention that I needed acrylics/full set or if that was to come later. We started talking about polish, and I asked him to explain the difference in regular vs gel. He said gel lasted longer so I chose that. I also said I needed acrylics since many of my natural nails were broken. He cut me off mid sentence and walked away to get the basket of colors, but I definitely got "Acrylics" out and put my hands up so he could see my 4-5 very long nails scattered amongst my very short, broken ones. He nodded and assured me everything was included with the manicure. He sent me to the "shaping/filing guy", and although there was hardly any speaking, I picked up on his nudges when it came to soaking my fingers. I was asked "which color" about 5 times, no exaggeration, and I left bleeding a bit along my cuticle: no biggie. We kept trucking on. Well, besides being cut, everything was fine and dandy until I realized I was only getting my nails clipped, shaped, and polished: things I could've done at home. I thought the application of the base coat of the nail polish was a part of the lengthening process. I didn't realize what was happening until he told me I was done, and asked if I liked them. Then, proceeded to try to talk me into getting a pedicure, and another lady asked if I needed my eyebrows arched. Sorry, but my fingernails are a trial. If service is great for my fingers, my next trip will definitely include the pedicure. Yes, stopping to get tip money was clearly a waste of time.Granted my nails are cute and crazily shorter than I'm used to -which was my purpose of going to the salon- but I definitely didn't get what I wanted or asked for. With the loyalty punch card, I might give it a second try, but this time I will make sure to point at what I want, (there's a card at the front with their services), rather than trying to speak. If I go back, I will raise or lower my rating accordingly. Read Less
