Worst experience ever. Rude and rough nail tech made worse by male manager who was abusive and then decided we were racist. Never again. Have had good experience in past but male manager should go if he was indeed the manager. Will never return and will tell everyone I can not to go here. No man should ever speak to a woman that way. I really am shocked at my experience with this nail salon. I was going to try the SNS powder nails, but I noticed when they first coated my first nail in the powder that it was a different shade than what was on the model nail colors. I said "I don't think I'm going to like that color after all. It's a lighter brown tone and I don't think I would like it." Multiple techs all started trying to convince me that I have to wait to put the top coat on to really see the color, and that the color on my first nail was not going to be the final color. I said to clarify "so the color will change with a top coat from the color on my nail now?" And received a resounding yes. Well, when they put first two coats on i stopped them and said "okay. So The color didn't change and I still really don't like it. Is there a way we could add another color on top?" And was told no, and that I need to wait for the top coat. So when they put the top coat on my first finger-- I notice that the color doesn't change at all. And I said "okay, that color didn't change and I really do not like it." And I said "I am still going to pay for it, but can We just take it off and I won't have a color?" And they started arguing with me that it was the same color and that it was my skin tone that made it look different, and that they weren't going to charge me. I said "okay. I don't like it though. Can you take it off?" And they said "it's going to take forever and we aren't going to charge you for it." And i said "okay. I just want to get out of here then. Can you just put on the top coat?" And then the tech takes out regular clear nail polish instead and puts that over the powder, and my nails are now bumpy, grainy, and look destroyed! That tech then gets up and walks away. I turn to the other tech that had assured me of the color and said "why are my nails all bumpy and rough? Is there another layer?" And he goes "yeah. It's all bumpy because it's not the real top coat. You said you just wanted to get out of here... so now leave." Which left my stunned that they intentionally botched up the nails even after I said I would pay for the work still! At this point, my mother, who came here regularly turned and said "I come here every two weeks and I cannot believe you would treat us like this. Can you please just remove the color now??" And they asked me to come sit back down, and as the tech was filing the color off he started saying "never have I ever had a customer do something like this. You are a mean and terrible person. People are always happy with these colors and you are impossible to please." At which point i said "excuse me? I offered to pay for this and wanted to stop taking up your time and just asked for the top coat! I was trying to help! And then your technician intentionally put the wrong top coat on to botch my nails!! I have never had a nail place not apologize for something like this!" And he says "yes, he did use the wrong top coat because we just want you to leave here and never come back." At which point my mother comes over and said "you don't need to worry. We are going to write reviews for how terrible this experience has been!" And the technician responds with "You're both just racist and we don't want your type ever coming into our store again. Just leave." And he walks away with hoop all over my hands and nails because he hadn't finished removing the color. My mother's nakl technician comes to me and apologizes saying "it's not your fault sweetie. I'm so sorry. Here are your shoes!" And helps us out the door...Never in my life have I had a problem with a nail tech like this. If I don't like the color than I always pay anyway and just ask for them to remove the color and include a great tip. I've never ever had a nail salon manager be so rude Or make it such a personal thing by attacking me by calling me mean, and racist. While I had a great experience with my mani pedi, my daughter had a male tech. At first, during her pedicure, he cut down her toe nail way too short. He then began to file them and it hurt multiple times till she asked him to just stop filing. She wanted to try natural nails and went to pick a color. It was time for her tech to get off work and he didn't want to even do a simple manicure. She chose a color, but when the first nail had the first coat, she knew it wasn't the right color. Her tech then left and a new man took over. He proceeded to tell her the color would be the same as the sample once the final coat was applied. She then proceeded and he added three coats. It was not the right color.  Daughter asked after 2 coats, could they try a different color for the last coat because she didn't like the color. That wasn't possible so she asked to have it just removed. When they brought the drill out, she realized that wasn't gonna be good and would take forever. She then said, just put the finish coat on and I'll go. She said repeatedly she would still pay, but she didn't like the color, but at this point, she wanted to just leave. They put a regular top coat on the nail and it caused the under coats to become all grainy. The nails were now ruined. A third tech took over and proceeded to tell her it was her fault. Three techs would not be wrong. He then began to berate her. From across the salon, I asked him to stop arguing and just take the stuff off. He stopped yelling for around 5 minutes and then he started with his quiet voice arguing with her again. I rushed my dry time to just get out of there as he began to tell her what a mean person she was. His words were abusive and completely uncalled for. She said from the beginning she didn't like the color. That was all. From repeatedly calling her mean and telling her he didn't want to come in there again, after admitting they had indeed purposefully messed up the nails, he then called her a racist. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I have been in this nail salon with several wonderful women nail techs and i had a good experience with my nails. The whole thing was ruined by this man who claimed to be the manager as he took liberty to bully a young woman who spoke up to say she didn't like a color. For him to then berate and abuse her with a constant stream of rudeness was beyond anything I have ever experienced. Needless to say, because of him, if he is indeed the manager, no woman should ever darken this businesses door. I will never go back and put out a warning that if you do go there, don't tell any of the men you don't like the color it means you're mean and a racist and be prepared for abuse and purposeful sabotage  of your nails. I'm not just paying for the product, but your customer service included and she is just rude. She didn't even put lotion on my hands. I didn't even know she was finished. I know all about suggestive sales, but if I tell you I can't afford a certain style at the moment don't force it. She proceeds to tell me the color won't be as bright because I chose such a light shade. I didn't want anything extravagant due to the nature of my job. She really rubbed me the wrong way. Ok so it's been awhile since I wrote a review a lot is happening including my family is growing so excited !!! Ok so while babe was getting his hair cut I decided to go next door to D B Nail Studio and was greeted and told the price and told where to sit it was all like bam bam bam nice and smooth.. Well let's take it back when I first walked in there was an older woman and what I believe to be her daughter or granddaughter with her who was kind of fussing but doing it in a classy way not really upset but upset lol... It was too the point the gentleman apologize and ask how can he help me ..Any who I went to IVY now this is my first time here and she was very sweet has the most genuine smile and asked me how I was etc.. She was so gentle yet firm getting the meat off the nails you know and asked me was I ok from time to time and even asked if I wanted my eyebrows done too it's as if she knew I was thinking that very thing .So she got the cuticles together , got my nails painted I got gel I hate waiting for normal polish to dry , & then we went to those eyebrows of mine .. I grew them out so I was like oh boy this isn't going to be good lol but again she was very sweet and gentle and made sure that everything was too my liking BEFORE we left from out the chair.. She gave me her card and even told me Merry Christmas before I left.. OH and let me tell you about this hot towel she placed over my hand after she put the lotion on OMG it was like heaven and it tingles and it felt like my hand pores opened ( is that even a thing lol) and felt very refreshing that's the first time I had it ... I’ve gotten my nails done by at least 5 of the techs there. I’ve done gel, acrylic, and now I get the sns dip recommended by them which goes right on top of your natural nail. If you show a picture of the shape you want your nail they always file exactly the way I show. The basic pedicure last at least 30 minutes as that is store policy. There is a huge selection of color as well. When the manager isn’t actively doing someone’s nails he is walking around the store talking to customers to ensure everything is going well. Very welcoming place. I got the spa pedicure and they couldn't have done a better job. The nail techs were awesome and very personable. I even had to go back the next day to get 3 of my toes repainted because I smeared them (I didn't sit under the dryer long enough, totally my fault) and they fixed them for free. First off, this salon is very clean and the people are very professional.  I am here from out of town and needed nails done for family photos.   I would love to give it a 5 based on just that.  However, when I got in the car and took a good look at my nails the quality of work was messy and it was way expensive....My fingers were soaked in acetone (instead of wrapped) which was a bit strange to me but hey maybe it was a new procedure.  My cuticles on my fingers and feet never received any softner, were not pushed back and were cut without being conditioned.  I had polish on the side of my foot and shellac on the side of my fingers.  I really wished I would have looked at it closely before we left.  My cuticles were a mess and the painting on my nails was not even close to being good.  I wouldn't recommend it for basic manicure and pedicure as I really feel that it was rushed and sloppy. I always go here and I always have the best experience but this time was different I had a different person doing my nails when she sat me down and started she was going so fast and she put so much acrylic on that it was dripping of the nail and under the nail, she but 2 nails on crooked and I had to tell her to fix it other wise I'm sure she wouldn't have fixed it when she was drilling she was drilling my nail bed and the tips of my fingers it hurt she wasn't gentle at all and there's still acrylic under my nails, and my nails never properly dried because she but 3 coats of polish and 2 thick coats of clear polish I was like oh lawd I sat under the dryer forever, but the nails turned out cute besides all of that I would recommend going there but don't get the lady I had she was an older women with short hair. I will not return here. The girl that did my pedicure was rushed, left streaks in my polish, and put a grainy matte top coat on my toes. When I asked the manager to fix it she had an attitude and didn't even apologize. She then tried to repaint my toes with no base coat. My toes are finally painted, but very sloppy and unprofessional behavior.Edited to add: I just got home and actually had a chance to look at my feet. Worst pedicure I have ever had. Polish is still horrible and my heels are not smooth. Somehow with her little grating tool she made them feel worse than when I started. Read Less

The staff were very pleasant and appreciative of customers coming in. The salon was very clean and well kept. They use liners for the foot tub, very sanitary. The tools came out of a sealed, sterile packet. I got the pedicure with the hot stones. The best darn pedicure I've ever had!!!!!!! I also got my brows waxed. They turned out even and look fantastic. Beatiful work there. I love all the nail techs! I was so happy to have a nail salon near my house. They treated me so special the first time I entered the door. I was there second customer when they opened the doors for the first time. I recently had my eyebrows tattoed and they look so natural. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. Dan is so precise and worked very hard to ensure my eyebrows shape would look right for my face and then to make sure they looked natural. She knocked it out of the park.Read Less

I've been there several times to just get a pedi and mani to my natural nails which wasn't a issue. But if it's anything other than that I would not suggest this shop.The owner Dan is just plain rude. I got a fill-in and on a Saturday the work that was done was so rushed that I literally sat there and removed old polish off my nails in spots that the lady didn't get. I told her I wasn't satisfied with my work. She took me over to her booth and tried to fix it. My nails lasted every bit of 4 days before the started popping at the tips. I called her an explained to her what happened. She's wasn't available for me to come in that day and was off the next. So I took it upon myself to soak them off because I had 4 broken nails. I went in the my scheduled appointment day and time. I waited 38 minutes past my appointment time to be exact. While she took her time and talked about how she cussed her husband out and wasn't talking to him because he pissed her off. I showed her the pictures of my nails all messed up well apparently that wasn't good enough she wanted me to walk around with 6 nails on for 3 days. I guess this was upsetting to her because she was so argumentative and said she wasn't going to do my nails. It had nothing to do with trying to get them done for free because I was going to pay half price after already wasting $26. She was just so aggressive and nasty with the way that she talked to me. I went to get a pedicure and fill in. This was my second time at the shop. The first time Eddie took care of me from start to finish and he did a great job. The second time I went was last Friday. I had an appointment but felt rushed the whole time I was there. Michael did my fill in and I have 2 nails on my left hand that look horrible and one on my right any that is crooked. Then I was sent over to have a pedicure by a young lady. She used a razor on my feet and took a nice big chunk out of my big toe. I wasn't offered a discount of any kind. I was just told "sorry". Love this place. I've been coming here for years now. The service is great. Owners are very friendly.  The nail techs they have in the shop are pretty much all good. At first, I would try to make appointments with specific people but my schedule was so random I just had to do walk ins. I've never had a bad experience. There are some new people who I haven't gotten around to being helped by, but if I had to go to one of them I don't think I would be nervous. Ever since moving from Norfolk, I've been on the hunt for a new salon. One of my mom's friends gave her a gift certificate to D B so I thought that I'd try them too. They're pretty friendly and quick to service you when you walk in but it's better to have an appointment. I prefer to see Ms. Linda or Tommie. Ms. Linda does good eyebrows too and she will do them for free if your services are 45 dollars or more! The only pitfall is that they are open from 9:30 to 7:30 and that doesn't coincide with my work schedule during the week. They are open on Sunday from 12 to 5 so that's a plus! Read Less

Everytime we make an appointment for a customer. The tech cant take on any walk-in customers within 30 mins before appointment time, and waited 15 more min pass apointment. So total waited time is 45 min while the shop having alot of customers waitting for services.we had been opened for 7 years but only refused 2 persons for appointment.  1. Customer missed 2 apointments, never called to cancel each time so i sat and waited 45 min everytime and when i asked her. She reply by " i had things to do."  2. This group of three alway make apointment for 3 techs on our busiest day but never kept all three. Sometime 2 showed up and told us the third couldnt make it. Knowing that the third tech that been sitting for 35 min for nothing. The last straw is all 3 never showed, never called. So we have 3 techs sitting around for 45 min on our busiest day.We do honor all our apointments. Our apointments, they never had to wait for services, doesnt matter if its a holyday or weekend.But im sorry for these 2 customers. I cant make the techs waitting for nothing on their busiest day. Place has a lot to offer.  Most are friendly.  Tina did a good job but check the tips of your nails, don't go home and have to file.  Also seems new in cash register, she something about under charging, and had me make a correction.  It made me feel uncomfortable.  Also, Tina refused to make a follow up appointment.  Just stated "call in and make appointment".  It was boarder line disrespectful.   One last thing, Tina dat best to a sign taut said speak English only, it was an Epic fail.  Not a good experience today. I visited this shop on today. I got a pedicure, shellac polish, and my eyebrows waxed. I was serviced by Jessica and it was awesome. I've never been to a shop were I was satisfied with one person doing everything. My sister and I were shopping for a nice salon for our mother to experience her first pedicure for her 80th birthday. This salon really fit the bill. Beautiful Asian decor befitting a spa, quiet relaxing music playing softly in the background, everything neat and tidy. We bought a gift certificate to cover a mani/pedi and facial. Because we had a surprise birthday party setup right after, we also asked for makeup, for an additional charge. They did a great job, matched her nails to her dress, and threw in eyelashes as a birthday treat. She looked absolutely beautiful when she walked into her surprise party.
