I've been coming to DK Nails since last spring. Today I called at 1:32 pm to see if there was a 4:30 pm appointment available. I asked for a specific nail technician, who does an excellent job on my nails. The manager who answered the phone confirmed that technician was there. When I got there at 4:30, the manager asked me did I just call a few minutes ago. I told him no, not to mention I identified myself when I called. The manager said he THOUGHT I said 5:30 pm. It was truly a misunderstanding. However, no apology and was told to come back in 25 minutes. Not to mention the way he talked to me in front of the other customers, as if I was beneath the others. So i went to DK Nails & Spa for the first time today. I had been going to a place for many years and after losing my technician to a stupid marriage (LOL) and her moving to San Francisco LOL I had to find a new home and I think I just did!! I absolutely love this place and Nina did an amazing job she aimed to please the entire time asking me before making cuts. I have 100% REAL nails i just get gel over so I'm NOT an easy person to deal with when it comes to my nails but she was definitely doing her job 110% I will be going back and I highly recommend this place!!!Read Less

I received the WORST pedicure ever in my life. This was my second time there and I will not be returning. My toes are in pain today and can barely wear my shoes. I get regular pedicures and don’t understand why she felt it was necessary to rip off skin. This salon appears clean and the staff friendly.  However, I had a full set of gel nails with gel polish put on and within 1 week, 3 of my nails had literally popped off.  By day 9, another 4 nails just pop off.  It was like the glue wasn't holding the tips at all.  I kept each one of them, to show they weren't broken, jammed, etc.  I returned on day 11 (not even waiting a full 2 weeks) and brought all of the nails that had popped off. I explained what happened - the lady seemed to not care, shrugged her shoulders and proceeded to put new tips and nails on.  In the end, they charged me for another full set of nails!! And once again, after 7 days, 3 of them had popped off.  I have since gone to another salon and have not had any problems with my nails whatsoever.  If you are looking for nails to stay on and continue to look great a week after you get them - I would not recommend you come here. I've been here before and had a fairly decent experience. This time, not. Not sure what the nail tech's name was, but she hacked my overgrown big toenail down to a nub in 2 snips before asking and before I could stop her. It's like half of a toenail now. Very ugly. Then the other side doesn't match because I told her how awful the short one was, so she left more on the other side. And because it's so short she couldn't shape it. Since one side was shapeless, she didn't bother to shape the other one. The paint job is mediocre at best. She attempted to up-sell me on services the entire time so much so that I couldn't even relax and enjoy my pedicure. She applied sea salt and then alcohol to my toenails to prep for polishing, but forgot the lotion. So not only are my toenails unsightly, my skin was reptilian when I left. Just terrible. I'm not a regular, I was just in need and looking forward to getting a professional job. I do better myself. That always sucks to anticipate something that turns out horribly. Ah well. Read Less

I started going to Henry almost 3 years ago when he was at his shop down by me, which is 2 hours away from you all. I followed him to Alton and now I have follwed him to you all. I walk in to your place and immediately feel like family. Everyone is super nice and makes you feel very comfortable. They don't even give you time to pick out a color. Horrible service! They aren't even good at a basic color change. Don't even think about Waxing here either. I ended up with super thin brows even after letting the woman know I wanted to keep them thick. Oh and they don't even clip your nails when getting a pedicure and if they do, don't expect them to be even. The woman talk in their language and you definitely feel they are talking about you. The pedicure I initially came in for was awesome. Kind of wish she'd worked a little more on my heels (they callous like crazy) but they still look and feel a lot better. I have been to this salon maybe five times or more Now it extremely rush for my pedicure .I'm coming for relaxing i pay $40 pedicure for nothing it take less than 30 minutes and they told me that is new deluxe than they try to save my lotion for some reason ..don't want to come back this salon no more so unprofessional people working here now. This nail salon is one the best ones in the area. I don't know why it doesn't have more stars. The employees are very friendly and welcoming. I usually go to Katie for my nails and she is amazing. Her work is very thorough and it lasts for 3 weeks or more with no chipping! She is very careful to make sure that your natural nails stay healthy and strong when she polishes. My fingers hurt, I was overcharged, the nail polish I had when I walked in is now smeared across my fingertips. The nails are also lumpy and the ladies were talking about me--they just didn't know I could understand. She only smiled when asking about if I wanted extra services, and when I said no, she would do it anyway and tack it on the bill--so a $25 basic pedicure becomes a $40 one because she chose to give me a foot massage/use exfoliator, etc. And then they get upset when the tip isn't what they expected...trashy service shouldn't even get ANY tip at all. The pedicure itself was great and very clean, but every design I asked for they couldn't do.. it was just zebra lines or a palm tree or a simple flower. If you want a design I don't recommend if your just looking for a good pedicure I'd very highly recommend! Read Less

I came to US Nails as a walk in and was hesitant because there weren't more stars on yelp but decided to take the chance as I was in the area. After receiving a fabulous gel manicure (at $5 cheaper than the going local rate I might add!), I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great looking nails, good selection of color, timely service, and great attention to detail. She has been doing my nails for almost a year and my gel polish always last 3 weeks or longer without chipping or peeling. Terrible! I usually have a tolerance for poor service. I try not to compare salons or experiences but I think the mixed reviews on this salon are because some of the employees may be great and others (like my lady) are terrible! She rushed my entire mani/pedi, she touched the metal cuticle pusher to each nail but didn't actually push them back.like I wouldn't notice?! She rushed the entire process, pulled my hands, pushed my hands aside and was so unfriendly. She painted so sloppy, because she was going so fast. I was skeptical with the mixed reviews but this place ended up being awesome! There was no line as I walked in off the street for a gel manicure. I was pressed for time with my work starting in 1.5 hrs. But they finished my manicure in under 30 minutes and the nails came out dynamite! They convinced me to get a pedicure as I HD an hour still before work. The chairs are in like new condition, it is very clean and appealing, plenty of message options and room to put your bags! They did a basic pedicure which was awesome! Message, oil and lotion, spa bath, razor, and only 5 more for French tips for a total of 30 bucks. They are quick, efficient and the quality was much better then red door spa (where I had gotten my nails done last before here) I'll be back and bring coworkers. -heart-Thank you for getting me relaxed right before work! There are so many nail places to choose from, I wish I would have picked another! I chose the spa pedicure and a french manicure. Pedicure was first. The tub was broken so she placed a plastic bag in the tub and put my feet in there.. the foot massage was barely a rub that lasted all of 10 seconds! She pulls out these fingertip clips and saturates them and my top/short with some liquid and slaps a dirty towel on my lap to rest my hands... I could go on and on... oh, one last tidbit... i live barefoot, therefore I am the callous queen and look forward to getting those babies shaved, grated or sloughed off each week... after the lame non massage she places my flipflops on as if she is going to begin polishing...!! I said, pointing to my feet, what about my calouses??? Well, that ticked her off!!! She brought out the industrial sized cheese grater and took all those frustration of hers out on my feet! what irritated me more than anything was the constant chatter and giggles in Vietnamese... I had a pretty bad experience here. I'm not sure if it was just with the one lady or the whole salon however, because this salon was recommended to me by a friend, but the paticular lady who did my acrylic nails was awful. She was not friendly and she did my nails very rushed, and was not gentle whatsoever. The paint job she did was also very very sloppy and rushed she did like one coat of the nail polish and it was awful looking. I will probably never return here. Read Less

I will NEVER go here again! Pedicure was ok thought when I got home, I had to finish off scrubbing my feet of any dead calluses. I thought the lady was doing a decent job with my nails, but when I got home, I noticed tiny bubbles forming and didn't do a neat job with the top coat.  I had to get it redone the next day, as I had a wedding to go to, and my nails were redone perfectly at another place.  The lady kept pushing me to get a gel mani & I said No a few times.  "Do you not understand the meaning "NO"!  Only thing I liked about the place was the huge selection of colors, that's about it. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came here about 3 times...Each time they would force me to do gel when I walk in just for a manicure and/or a pedicure.One of the times I asked for a full set with regular polish and they forced me to do a full set with gel polish. There is a reason why I don't want to put gel because it is very expensive and I am on a budget. The last time I came here was today on Friday 4/22 and I wanted to remove my acrylic nails and just get regular polish on my natural nail. They kept telling me regular polish isn't going to last long (I am aware of that) ... So they seated me down and start drilling my acrylics, telling me they're still strong and by removing them, it'll damage my nails. I've been to other salons in the past that have acknowledged this request; not a big deal. But obviously they're pushy and want to make more money. So I said OK, I'll keep my acrylics and get a fill-in with regular polish.Then they come at me again, forcing me to get gel polish over my acrylics. Every time I said I want to look at regular polish, they would get mad. So I finally said OK, I'll get a fill-in with GEL. Once she finished doing my nails, I showed her my thumb nail was crooked and she had the audacity to tell me that's just my perspective or that's how it looks at an angle. I was not going to argue so I said fine.... After I paid (but NO TIP)... I walk to my car noticing that not only my thumb nail was crooked but the middle finger and pointer on my right was crooked too.I wasn't going to turn back and argue because I'm not that type of person but from this experience I may have to start because I right after I ended going somewhere else to fix it, which lead me to spending more money. The girl who did my nail did not want to fix the one thumb I showed her.... Which made me go somewhere else that same day. They're under new management now, they remodeled the place and have new chairs, If looks much nicer and brighter. Cleanness isn't' my concert at this place as I've seen my nails tech pull her tools out from the sanitizers when she did my nails. Thorough and precise work. Tina is fantastic. I've had multiple manis, pedis, and eyebrow wax. I'm new in the area and was happy to find a place that is so clean and does good work. My last experience here was horrific. I wanted to get a regular manicure and she gave me gel without telling me until I saw my bill and wondered why it was so much. I didn't notice because I thought she was just giving me some special treatment. Nope, she was just trying to be slick and trick me. Well I wasn't having it and got into an argument and ended up paying for regular manicure. It's unfair how they treat customers. I mean the lady was nice, probably to distract me but sorry lady nice try!! Never would recommend this place to anyone.
