I only gave them 1 star because I couldn’t do 0. My daughter and I went there today and we both hate our nails! My daughter was at another table getting her nails done and asked the lady to cut them shorter. The lady told her no that all the young ladies kept them long. At the same time I’m getting my nails done and my lady was being so fast and rough! She didn’t try to make them neat or take her time. I had to ask her twice to redo a nail she kept messing up. All the ladies seemed very rude and wouldn’t speak any English to anyone they were working on. They would only speak to each other. My daughters nails look so cheap and awful. This place is great! My mom and I have started coming when I'm home in Virginia for a weekend (live in Boston) since we love to get pedicures and gel manicures together.  My gel manicure is flawless and always lasts 2/3 weeks and the pedicure is nice as well.  You can't beat the price and I love that I'm in and out pretty quickly.  I wouldn't believe some of these terrible reviews - I have been here many times and would recommend to a friend. I really don't know how this place stays in business. It lacks sanitation in the entire place, I will be contacting Fairfax County health. So while you are getting waxed other technicians come in and out and there is no privacy. I find it to be rude that someone is heating their food while I am getting a wax. They don't sanitize their equipment after use, I watched her put it back without cleaning THATS DISGUSTING. After all this, they will hustle a larger tip from u, straight up "do you have another dollar for my friend, I giver her for her part" hmmm your friend did my waxing and gave me no privacy and you want me to tip her? I come here because the prices are so cheap, but the service could be way better. I usually get my eyebrows and sometimes my upper lip waxed, and numerous times the women who are waxing me will comment on my complexion and make me feel self conscious. I've been going here for years, so it was worse when I was a teenager and still had bad acne, which isn't really the case anymore....but still. Ask for VIVI she's the best. She's so friendly and she takes her time with you and makes sure your nails are PERFECT!!! I hardly write reviews but this one is needed to help save people in the future. 1) read the all the reviews below before going 2) without a doubt- your nail polish will start chipping 2-3 days after you get them done. I went in once and then day 3 they were falling off. I went back to get them corrected and they gave me such a hard time about it instead of helping me and apologizing. They asked me so many questions about where I was sitting, who helped me, and wanted me to pay to get them fixed. If you do go to the salon- bring your own color and clear coat because their nail polish is not going to last. (Read the other reviews and you'll read the same)- and on top of that the new nail polish that they put on to correct the last time they did it starting cracking and falling off the next day... so disappointing 3) the first time that I went- I really enjoyed my experience. The pedi was nice (she could have removed more dead skin off but it's okay) and the mani was nice but she didn't start painting close to the cuticle. She started painting a millimeter away from the cuticle which I thought was odd. 4) they rush their services-- this is one salon where they are not detail oriented therefore the job will only be done satisfactory as temporarily- not long lastingly 5) I really hope they improve their quality of paint and service. 6) prices are great- but now I understand why. I have come here for pedicures many times and they're great. Decided to come here simply to take off my acrylic nails. The lady first gave me a bowl full of acetone to soak my nails in so I figured I would just be soaking the nails off. About 5 minutes later, another lady came and started to pry off the nails with an acrylic nail. I was fine with it until she got to the left hand pointer finger. She was being too rough and my actual nail was cut into with the nail and I could see the flesh of my nail underneath. I told her to just leave it  alone and finish the rest of the nails. I was so upset, particularly because she seemed angry at me for telling her to leave the nail alone. She didn't seem like she was any bit remorseful. Now I have this nail that still has acrylic on it and I don't know how I'm going to go to work with this. Pedicures are fine here but stay away from anything manicure related. Read Less

I've been going to My Nails to get my eyebrows waxed by ViVi for at least 4 years now. It only costs $7 here which is very cheap compared to other salons. ViVi is the best, she always takes her time and always checks to make sure you're ok with your eyebrows before you leave. I have sensitive skin so I appreciate that she always blows on the wax before and applies aloe after to soothe skin. She's also given me multiple manicures and pedicures over the years and she is very careful and patient. I would definitely recommend going to My Nails for ViVi! Read Less

I was immediately unimpressed when I walked in the door as the place is a bit crammed and doesn't meet my expectation for cleanliness and tidiness, but I was in a rush and decided to give it a chance. My pedicure was quick, very rough, and there was NO foot massage involved and come on...that's the best part of a pedi. What left me most disappointed was when I went to pay and was asked, "soooo, how are you going to handle my compensation...you'll give me cash, right?" I came in with my mom, she needed a mani and pedi and I needed JUST a polish. They immediately waited on my mom because what she needed cost more. Four people came up to me and asked me what I wanted and when I told them, they said something to each other in Vietnamese and kept going. One of the ladies was talking to me and mid conversation turned to help someone else who walked in the door. This place use to be decent, idk what happened. The lady tried charging me an extra 5 dollars for a longer acrylic. Then when I declined, she made them extremely short( like almost the size of my regular nail) the point of acrylic is to have a longer. Nail! Then she tried hustling me on some " stronger"  acrylic formula that would be an extra 5 bucks too. This NEVER happened before. I declined and she did a horrible job. All my acrylics were uneven, didn't fit the nail, and lopsided. I understand at nail salons they try and hustle you and what not but at least they would do a decent job. Then she proceeded to ask me for tipLike 3 times when my nails were drying. I'm a paying customer, and honestly I have no shame in just saying, sorry you did a bad job, no tip for you. And I'm only carrying ones from now on, so if it's a bad job you can go ahead and earn yourself a 2 dollar tip. It's just better to go to a higher end salon at this point and pay for quality nails. This is the second nail salon in the area that tried up-charging me for longer nails( angel was the other) I'm either calling ahead next time to make sure or just going to go somewhere with great reviews. A few other things:A. I think they are struggling because they stay open really late. One time I saw them doing nails at 10:30pm at night. They try and get as much business as they can. Even forcing customers to wait 30 mins because they say they will be done in 10. I've literally seen a lady yell at a customer to " stay, stay, will be done soon" That's not fair to the other paying customers because then there mani/pedis are rushed. B. They don't carry much OPI anymore. They've replaced it with some other weird brand, probably a lot cheaper. There's maybe a row full of OPI but basic colors( red, brown, pink). Personally I've tried multiple brands at nail salons, and OPI seems to stay on the longest. C. This place is a dump. They charge almost the same rates as other nail salons for a horrible quality nail and environment. It's better to just pay an extra 5-10 for mani or pedi because it's really worth it. The pedi chairs are disgusting and old. The place is crammed with barely any room for ppl to walk up and down, and most things are not sanitized. My pedicure was rushed through and the girl did a half a** job. I use to like this place but they really disappointed me the last time. Don't try to hustle me, charge me extra and rush through and then do a crappy job. Never coming here again. Read Less

Every time I try this place I come out disgusted. Have not been in about six months due to sanitation issues. Decided to give it another try...hoping for a staff change. They are just beyond rude. This service I was damn near assaulted. The technician literally just grunted at me. Grunts. Did not ask any customer service type questions like...I don't know...how do you want ABC done? Technician began to apply eyebrow wax before even asking me my desired shape. After I show her in the mirror what shape I wanted she grunts in a nasty tone...'I know how to do eyebrows'....not 'ok I will shape them the way you want'. Waited half an hour only to be given a mediocre pedicure for less than half an hour, the technician was ill, she said she had allergies-she was sniffing her snot in every 2 seconds bent over my feet-very disgusting. Also, she seemed completely out of it, at one point I had to repeat Ma'am almost for one minute before she responded. I asked for the water to be warmer, i.e. hot in the foot bath, it was lukewarm and she insisted it was warm, then turned on the water rather than do what I ask.  Also, not at all gentle, over cut my nails, I had light bruising and bleeding in the evening when I got back. I've been here SEVERAL times because it is walking distance to my home. During each visit, they rush me and do not give me the chance to take my time and pick a color. They work VERY quickly. They do not always do a horrible job, but the customer service is VERY poor. The pedicures here are definitely not recommended; they are very quick and they do not really give much of a massage. The only reason I would recommend this place is because it is very low priced compared to other salons. Read Less

I'm writing this in the parking lot outside of their store so I hope this is meaningful. I'll sum up the specifics that tainted my experience (This was my first time btw). • I asked for acrylics with colored powder (which they didn't have) and was offered colored gel. • The acrylic application was pretty sloppy and the work station was completely unkempt which made it feel less sanitary. • The technician asked me if I wanted long nails (I always wear long nails) and proceded to file them down to almost nothing after already applying the acrylic. •I was only offered two nail shapes, square or round, wanted square, got round. • The gel color process wasn't bad and did turn out quite pretty. •The entire process costed me $40 and the technician blatantly asked me for a tip (after recognizing that I was dissatisfied) TLDR; Go somewhere else if you want to actually get what you want. I live in MD but I won't go to any nail salon beside My Nails.  I've been their customer for years.  Their prices are reasonable and they treat you like family.  They had new chairs and tables, the place is very clean.  I would highly recommend My Nails to anyone.  AAA++++ Read Less

Horrible service. Lady was very adamant on upgrading to shellac instead of a regular manicure as well as getting a pedicure. After I refused she completed my manicure in less than 10 minutes, poorly shaped them and didn't clean them up to the extent they could have been. I will never go back to this place! Read Less

I've been to this salon at least 10 times. I've gotten my nails done by a couple different technicians but I stuck with Jen because I felt like she was the best for my taste. She does a great job and pays close attention to detail. The reason why I'm giving only 3 stars is because this salon in general is not very professional. I've walked out of this salon feeling very bad about myself because the technicians were standoffish or rude. I always say "maybe they'll be in a better mood next time" or "maybe they're having a bad day", but I've come to a point where I'm tired of overlooking bad customer service. The prices are unbeatable which is really what kept me coming back, but I'd really rather spend more at another salon where I walk out smiling rather than confused and feeling crappy. Read Less
