I really wanted to love this place because it’s close to where I live and I’d heard good things, but I was disappointed. The gel manicure started chipping two days after I got it done and now, 5 days later is almost completely gone. I booked an appointment online. When I walked they weren’t very busy yet everyone had an attitude. A the gel colors were minimal would say and not many were Spring colors. For me I’m not spending any money in a place where I’m not greeted, and when I ask about additions to my service before being seated you’re disrespectful and rude. This salon is very conveniently located and has a really clean and comfortable atmosphere. I got a full set sns dipping powder with Crystal, and I could not be happier with the results! She took her time to make sure that each nail was perfect and helped me pick a color that went well with my skin tone. Decent pedi. Horrible manicure. I came to the store with a certain idea in mind and even asked if they are able to do it before they got started. In reality they weren’t able to do it and I ended up leaving with something I didn’t like at all. And on top of everything two nails came off three days later. I did not like either waiting for 25 minutes for Tracy to show up (it was windy and below the freezing point!, and the door was locked, I had to wait outside), or being rushed through getting my nails done. This salon is in a very comfortable location amidst luxury and popular apartments on 15 street south Fern street. It's clean and has a huge menu. There is one big but in this place. One nobody speaks English or if they do a little and two nobody cares whether you actually use their services or not. My attempts to make an appointment and keep time resulted one time in making an appointment and waiting for the nail technician to show up, second appointment, and they are morning one, by 10 am result in nobody in particular is available. I live in a building right adjacent to their location and frankly on arrival just a few months ago asked a couple of neighbors about the place. Nobody used them, some adviced where to go. The only silver lining of my favorite manicurist leaving is now I can leave an honest review of this salon. I only kept coming back here because of Chu, and because it's like 2 blocks from my apt. But really only because of Chu. I found out she had left but at that point was already close to 4 weeks into my SNS manicure so I didn't want to wait. I called and asked if they had availability for an SNS French in a couple of hours. They said sure come on in. I come in, am half heartedly greeted by one of the ladies (to be fair, Mike who's the usual receptionist wasn't there). I tell her I called about the SNS appointment. She says "ok" and goes back to do what she's doing. I stand there awkwardly for a beat and then take a seat. After 5-10 min, she's comes up to me to look at my hands and tells me that the 2 people who know how to do a French are currently busy. I say ok thanks... and leave. Nothing. Maybe a half hearted sorry as the door shuts behind me. In terms of services-- everything here is a la carte. Like this comedian's video on YouTube:youtube.com/watch?v=SsWr…You want a manicure (i.e.  Getting your cuticles cut)? That costs extra. You want nail polish removed? Extra. UPDATED: July 2017 They just went under a remodel and Madison went in for a "Nail Emergency" and as always they took great care of her. Madison explains that they are the "Best in the World." The ladies and gents here have watched her grow-up and engage her like an adult. The folks also accommodate her brother and I while we wait. This is a FULL service shop! Brava! September 2015 They are great with my daughter, who happens to be four years old, and has many "nail emergencies." Reasonably priced with great service. It sucks to haven't had a great experience at this salon, as I've just moved to the area and was excited to have a salon so close. The salon itself is nice. I felt that there wasn't a large selection of gel colors in comparison to my usual salon is Los Angeles. The ladies were nice when I arrived, but the service left something to be desired. (I don't recall the woman's name who did my service). My pedicure was actually pretty lackluster. I paid for an upgraded pedicure, the lime one I think. During the service I thought the technician was doing a good job and from my seat everything looked fine. I thought she could've paid more attention to scrubbing the heel area, and when I left the salon and looked at my feet a few hours later they looked like I hadn't even gotten a pedicure! Much less a rather expensive one. The polish was fine, but she definitely did not put much effort into the rest of my foot. And that's important! No callous remover or even elbow grease. It was definitely NOT worth it or my time.The manicure was fine, but you can tell that I should've had another coat as parts of the polish are thin. It's not terrible, but not worth going back. Final note is that their website advertises a discount on services if you go in between 12p-3p for the month of June. I wasn't offered that at all. Not sure what the bad reviews are about. My experience at this salon was nothing less than spectacular. First off, the decor is super swanky. I didn't have to wait too long to get my nails done. For the location of the salon, I felt that the prices were pretty standard. I just got a regular mani, not gel. I had Sandy as my tech and I could not recommend her enough. She was professional, meticulous and a great conversationalist. She gave a great hand massage to top it off. I feel like some other salons I go to completely skip that step which is disappointing to say the least. I work as a nurse at a hospital and so my hands go through a lot. Usually by the end of day 2, my nails are chipped and look pretty crusty. However, when I got my nails done by Sandy, my nails lasted for about a week without chipping. I don't know why this place gets rave reviews, I guess it's for decor.  They're very sweet and accommodating but they rush through your services. The push the deluxe spa services (I get it) but I feel like I got the fast food treatment of pedicures. Read Less

Nails are life and this is where your nails go to die.So get this:My Situation: I wear fake nails, with acrylic, and regular manicure - ballerina tip. My go-to nail tech is out for a month, so I go to this place. I had my nails for 2 weeks so they're chipping off and I come in and specifically ask for a REFILL and pedicure. A REFILL. Meaning - take the acrylic powder and repaint my nails. The nail tech kept pushing for gel and I gave in. So - I get my pedicure, easy. Then we go and do my nails. She suggests I remove my nails because my fake nails are chipping, which is WHY I want a refill but she goes ahead and rushes me to remove them. So obviously if you remove one nail, they fine remove them all but while she was doing it she broke one of her own tools. Like the metal literally chipped off of her nail clipper. Which obviously means that my fake nails were NOT meant to come off.THEN she goes and rips off one of my other nails and my nail shape is all messed up.But get this - so my nails are bare. She takes the acrylic gel powder, places it all over my regular nail, then regular gel nail polish, and then a top coat. LAYERS ON LAYERS ON LAYERS. LITERALLY MY NAIL LOOKS LIKE BUBBLE STICKERS.AND my nail shape isn't even even. While i was getting my nails done she also had the audacity to tell me to calm down. ALL OF THIS FOR A WHOPPING $92. I am very torn on this review.  I have been a customer for over 4 years and had seen Lee Ann for 3 1/2 of those until she left unexpectedly and without explanation in October.  Lee Ann was phenomenal.  Mani, pedi, eyebrows all perfect.  She was by far the most personable and biggest perfectionist.  After her unfortunate departure, I had begun to see Tracy, who was also personable and did an amazing job.  I live close to the salon, and while walking to Whole Foods yesterday, I noticed that the entire space was being gutted.  After visiting the website and seeing a "temporarily down for maintenance" message and calling to hear a Verizon VM service message, I guess they're closed?***Update, apparently they had temporarily closed for construction and remodeling. Typical nail salon, wasn't too impressed or turned off. Rating based on total experience with service & quality of work received.The shop do reuse nail files/sanders, you can see other people's nail residue on it - pretty gross actually. I went to get a mani-pedi ($45) and my heels still feel rough like sandpaper. I wanted to soften up my rough heels and excess dead skin. This place was great! Flew in early for a conference outside the city and needed my gel nails redone as I had chipped a few. The shop was able to take me right away and had an excellent selection of gel colors. I did a gel manicure and the girl did an excellent job on my cuticals, shaping and gel. She noticed that the color I picked was shimmery and mentioned it before we got started as that was not the look I was going for. She double checked how I liked the shape of the nails and how ma y coats for desired darkness...I can't remember her name! At long last, I've finally found an amazing nail salon in Arlington!  I visited W Nails & Spa recently to get my nails done for a special occasion.  My nail stylist was professional and friendly and gave me a great suggestion for my nail polish color.  I got a gel manicure for the first time ever, and a week later it's still looking fabulous!  Their regular Manis are $18 and gel is $38. I'm planning to mainly do regular Manis going forward, but the added benefit of gel is that it dries more quickly (and I was in a hurry) and lasts longer!  The nail salon is large and clean.  They take their time making sure you're pampered and also happy with their service.  Walk-ins are also welcome, which I appreciated on a time crunch.  I'm so happy I've discovered this place!  I will certainly be back.
