I decided to go because it was recommended. At first look I loved it. Then I went in my bathroom, washed my hands and noticed that the pinky nail was severely crooked. I had others tell me as well"Hey did you know your nail is crooked. They only had to "fix" the nail and I would be happy. They said for me to come in so they could see it and "fix" it. I spoke to an older gentleman, showed it to him and he agreed. ( I even sent pics via facebook ) They said (Facebook again) Co...me in and we will fix ... so I told them I would be in Saturday and I arrived their before noon. He called the boy over and talked to him in their native language and I was told that he said it was crooked when I came in. Here is my question If it was broke and REPLACED how could it have been crooked? I sat their while 3 others getting fills or sets, walked past me so I got up and left. I only had 1 nail to fix not 10. I even called and told him WHY I left. He wanted me to come back and I said not with an appointment and the call abruptly ended. I had a basic pedicure. No complaint about the young woman who did it. I have concerns about the ventilation and sanitation. A tiny baby of another client cried and the mother was a young girl who was more concerned about her nails than taking care of her baby. Also don't think it is polite to speak another language while giving services to a client. Why do the managers sit around on their phones while others are working. Should be in a private room when not dealing with clients. Except for the behaviors of staff the place appears neat. Not too sure of sanitation practices. Read Less

My acrylics weren't even and the woman was way too aggressive. When I asked for a manager to complain about the outcome they spoke to each other in a different language for about a minute and then asked me if I told her how I wanted them. I said, of course, numerous times and I eventually gave up because I don't think she understood any of it and it even looked like the tech sitting next to her was trying to give her advice. He then spoke to her again in a different language and told me it looked like that because of the color I choose and at that point I told him I would never return because that was the worse response he could have given. Mary does my mani, pedi, and eyebrows. She always takes her time, listens, and does what I ask her. It is very clean and sanitized equipment. Reasonably priced. They are very busy suggest having an appointment. The reason for the 4 rating is the language barrier not everyone speaks or understands English and I don't like that waxing takes place in front of everyone not in a separate room. Read Less

They were so busy that they did not even ask how I wanted my nails or if I wanted designs, I showed them a pic of an ombre mani and they didnt know how to do it so I ended up with 2 color mani which is now chipped and appears cracked and my pedicure does too after only 2 days..I will not be coming back and do not recommend them at all, also witness 2 ladies complain about their nails and they did not apologize or try to correct the error...I would go in person and complain but doubt they'd care. Arlington abounds with nail salons. Most try to maintain some sort of competitiveness.  If nail salons were coffee shops, my regular spots are akin to a Starbucks: offering a decent selection of coffee drinks, beverages, and food items in an atmosphere conducive to either a bit of solitude or catching up with a close friend.  La-Or, by contrast, is equivalent to a sad coffee shop in a drab office building. Yes, you will get a competent manicure/pedicure but that is about it.  Tucked in a alley-way in the Crystal Underground, La-Or felt cramped and lacking in atmosphere.  Yes, my toenails are a bit gnarly which is why I go to a salon for a pedicure. At other salons, my toenails are never an issue.  But here, apparently, they had never seen the likes of mine before.  I was also less impressed when one nail tech proceeded to do my manicure as I sat in the pedicure chair.  I like having my nails done while I sit at the table even if I'm not getting polish. I also missed not getting my hands dipped in paraffin.  I am also used to being offered some sort of drink: water, tea, coffee, and even wine.  I do not recall being offered anything.I only went to La-Or because a close female friend goes there. She may not go there anymore  as the salon manager got a bit "bitchy" with her about the condition of my toenails.The manager even told my friend that I need to come in more often or they will charge me more next time.  Well, there will not be a next time. It's a shame that this place is so clean yet so awful at nail filing and shaping. I'm not sure how many times I have to say, "file them straight across, no curves please" for them to not shape my big toes like circles. Apparently more than four times. I just can't come here again. Read Less

I've been coming to this salon for many years now. I moved away for 3 of those years and was super happy when we came back to the Crystal City area so I could visit Gina again. She does an amazing job on my nails. Pays attention to every detail. I have had many pedicures, by many of the technicians, and all of them are wonderful. I have *only* ever gotten pedicures here, so i can't speak to the facials or waxing services.But I have been here on and off for a few years, and I can say that this place is extremely hygienic--wonderfully so. Everything is new and clean, and so maybe their pedicures are a little more expensive, but that $4 is so worth it. The nail techs have all done a great job in my experience too.  Overall they are very efficient, and make it okay to show my feet in public again. Plus they really seem to care about their work! oh and like most places they don't take credit card tips.Deducting one star for something that isn't the fault of anyone who physically works there but because their website hasn't been working for awhile. This is only mildly irritating because website has coupons for a $28 pedicure on Tuesdays (when i usually go), which they won't typically honor without  the coupon--which I can't print if the website is down. Lol Not a big rub, just a small mention. Plus i should add that this last time they were nice enough to hand me a coupon to honor it.I'll definitely go back. Read Less

Great place for a mani-pedi! This has become my favorite salon. Usually, a manicure won't last two days before it starts chipping. I don't know what they do differently here, but my manicures have lasted up to a week! The service they provide is consistently excellent. I would highly recommend this nail salon. Read Less
