I've been going to Ivy Nail & Spa for about two years. Mostly, I get pedicures and they do a great job. Amy is my favorite nail tech. I highly recommend her. She is meticulous about polishing and great with color. She knows what I like and helps me find the perfect color when I'm there. This has been my place of choice for two years, but today they said they could not take me at 5:07 when their posted closing time is 6PM.  There was a free seat at the pedicure chairs and one for nails.  No one else waiting.   As this is the third time this has occurred - I will take my business elsewhere.  Called another place nearby with one more star which also closes at 6 and they said they would take me.  They will help anyone who arrives before 6.   Sometimes - it is important to accommodate a repeat customer - particularly one who tips well. Went last week and had a great pedicure by Annette. She is super friendly and accommodating. Only problem is the toe nail polish is already chipping and it's only been a week!My pedicures usually last 5 weeks and never does OPI polish chip after one week!Very disappointed, maybe they dilute their polish or it was a bad bottle. Recommend you take your own polish for a pedicure. Otherwise this would be a 5 star review. Read Less

I read the Yelp reviews and really looked forward to a relaxing mani and pedicure, because it was a very stressful week. My technician was very good until....6 people arrived 2 mother friends each with daughters, And 2 more women together.  It appeared they were all walk ins. There were no more manicure tables and my manicure had to be un luxuriously done at the pedicure chair, while the technician stood, and there were no more spare technicians. Another woman who had a reservation when I arrived also had to have her mani at the pedicure chair.  Granted it was a tough decision with 6 people willing to wait.  I clearly felt rushed for my manicure.  None of the technicians at the tables were moving quickly.  All their clients had arrived before me and were still being worked on when I was ready for a manicure. My technician didn't remember to even ask me to wash my hands after the oils were put on my hands at the pedicure chair. Upon leaving I asked if I could wash my hands that still had cuticle oil on them. Like I said it was a tough situation, but it is a slightly smaller place than some.  I left feeling more tense being deprived of a relaxing experience. I can't imagine returning. Read Less

I went there to try it out with a female friend who is very "discriminating" about nail salons. It is a "smallish" salon with 4 chairs.  It is a nice, cozy "out of the way" salon.  My friend found the decor "soothing".  They do not, as my friend would describe it, make a "theatrical production" of showing you that they use sterile tools.  However, if you pay attention, you will see that they do remove the tools from sealed plastic wrapping.  My nail tech Amy was excellent and there was no language barrier. While my toes are a bit on the high maintenance side, Amy was unfazed.  This is in contrast to the salon we previously visited where the salon owner complained to my friend about the state of my toes!  My only two issues with this salon are very minor: 1. No paraffin dip for manicures. 2. I recently starting getting polish on my toenails. I found the selection of colors underwhelming.  However, I was still able to find a color.Overall, we will be coming back.  Given the sometimes overwhelming choices for nail salons in Arlington, that says a lot. The reviews are true!!! I am so picky when it comes to nail salons. I recently left my go-to of almost a year because they raised their prices and I did not feel like their services warranted the price. I am so happy to have found Ivy - $34 for a gel manicure is absolutely reasonable for the warm greetings, excellent polish selection, warming mitts & back massage! My manicure is still looking perfect! Make sure you bring cash to tip - they will not let you tip on the card & I had to walk to Giant for an ATM to leave a tip. I'll be back! : ) Read Less

I love Ivy Nails. I've been going religiously for almost three years since I've moved to the area, and every time I dare to try anywhere else I regret it. Not only does Ivy care about the end product of my nails, but they care about the health and condition. They've gotten me through many tragic aftermaths resulting from acrylics/SNS/gel fail mishaps. Second time visiting and I think they do a great job with both manicure and pedicure. However, I noticed everyone "who is white" get a quick back massage and my nail technician never offered me any. I have received a new technician on my second visit and she didn't offer a back massage like everyone else. I felt discriminated against . People think because you are black you may not have money so you should not get the good treatment. I make 6 figures so I will take my money somewhere that treats customers equally! Read Less

I had a fantastic gel manicure here! Angie assisted me in picking a color and even tried out two colors on my nails so I could see how they actually looked before deciding. After she apply cuticle gel she put my hands in heat packs which felt very nice. Angie has incredible attention to detail and the polish was applied perfectly. She made sure I kept my nails under the UV light for the proper amount of time. She even gave me a relaxing neck/back massage! This was a great gel manicure for a reasonable price of $35. It's too soon to say how long the manicure will last, but as long as it lasts a couple weeks this will be my go to spot! The one downside is the parking and that is only because it's tricky to find the parking garage. There are specific reserved spots for Ivy nails customers and they validate your parking so it's free! I got a mani/pedi here ($45) at 11am on a Friday. They do a great job. It is true they have sodas and bud light in the fridge but more importantly herbal tea and good magazines for me. They use these heater things for your hands and give a mini back massage. Everyone there is extremely sweet. I recommend! Read Less

This has become my go to nail salon!  It's in the Virginia Square neighborhood a few blocks from the metro  right on Washington Blvd.  There is a parking garage and they will validate your parking ticket if you bring it inside.  The ladies who work here are very friendly and do great work!  I've had several gel manicures done ($35) and they last for weeks.  They also give a fabulously relaxing hand and arm massage during the pedicure.  Ivy nail salon also does great pedicures and they have waxing services.  The bonus at this place is that they serve complimentary water or BEER with your service.  They have a mini fridge stocked with bud light!  Getting your buzz on while getting your nails did... AWESOME!  This is definitely the nail salon for me! Read Less

I've only been here twice, but they do an amazing job. I've had Ben both times and he is always very patient. He brings his own stylus to work so customers can use it while there's foil on. Not to mention they give cookies and water. I recently tried the SNS my natural nails always break, but they are SO LONG ! I haven't broken a single one since coming here. Read Less

New favorite salon! 1. Great customer service - received a welcome and goodbye from ALL the staff. 2. Reasonably priced - well worth it!3. Convenient location.4. The young lady doing my nails took her time and gave me a warm smile when I told her its my first time. She gave my a hand warmer for my cuticles too - nice touch. Only downside is the manager answering calls while doing someone else's nails- I would mind if this happened to me. It's a small salon with barely a lobby area but the layout works.. I came here with a friend this Saturday morning and I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't overwhelmingly busy like I'm used to.  I got there first before my friend and I was planning to wait for her to go through the whole process together.  Well, the lady I got had a different plan for me.  The language barrier didn't help the situation but she was not willing to let me sit on the sideline.  She got me in the seat and started on my feet - she was already painting my nails by the time my friend showed up.  She didn't like my color choice (pale blue, purple-y tone) and she made it known but I stood my ground.  My toes came out good, she did take her time so I felt relaxed.  My nails on the other hand, did not.  They looked streaky and sloppy but I'm never in the mood to complain (I mean if she didn't see the job she did than I won't be able to help her).  It was a nude shade so not so noticeable that I needed to make a stink about it anyway.  I did like that they have these huge heated mitts that they put your hands into - not sure what they do but I'd go back just for that!My friend got a similar color and her toes came out nice as well (she had a different lady).  For her nails, she got gel and they came out gorgeous.  I think I will try that next and hopefully I get a different person to change my luck around.  I recommend this place. I want to give this place a higher score, but sadly I can't, given the level of service that was provided. My friend and I walked in and were greeted after a few minutes, hurriedly. We were seated at a small table off to one side, where there weren't standard tables or set up, it was very awkward and seemed like they were trying to squeeze us in. The women were nice, but there was really no way to relax and actually enjoy, it was more of just lets get this done, which isn't ideal. This place is my favorite. Not only is it professional, but the staff is very nice and very personable. They offer the standard services: manis, pedis, gel manicures, waxing services etc., and also offer refreshments. I've gotten my nails done by each of the ladies there and they have always turned out great. Anette is the best and will try everything she can to accommodate your schedule.
