Tip: If you have sensitive cuticles, do not go here. 5 stars but 3 reviews from years ago; should've checked the reviews thoroughly. Girl doing my nails was either in training or just not adept. Kept going at my cuticles despite me going "ouch" and "that's alright". I finally had to tell her please stop but by this point my cuticles were bleeding and swollen. Did not make a big deal out of this and I went to pay. The owner/manager went "tip is cash only" I hesitated and she proceeded to inform me "there's a machine outside". I showed her my fingers and politely told her about my issue, declining to tip. She nodded, went "ok, you want me to add it to your card?" (note: no apology offered) I glanced pointedly at my bleeding cuticles and back at her then declined, again. Suffice to say not coming back here to be bullied in to tipping after abysmal service. i had my waxing done by tiffany which was really great. i went there again for another underarm waxing but it was not tiffany who did it. i forgot her name but she was not gentle at all! after my waxing my husband noticed that my armpits were really red and i told him it was just normal. now it has been 3 days since she did the waxing but still my armpits look red and they started to look brown! plus i've noticed there is a little peel..i wished it was just tiffany who did it! AMAZING. My friend and I went on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us 30 minutes before closing for two pedicures. The ladies who did our nails were so nice and funny (I can't remember their names I'm sorry!!). They did such a good job! It's now 24 days later, and my toe nails look like they were just done. I even got a compliment this morning on the color. I'm so pleased with how long it's lasting, and how good they still look. The only downside is that it's a little hard to find, but totally worth it! I live in the building so it is particularly convenient for me to get my nails done here. I have only done Mani/pedi, not hair or waxing here so that's what this review is about.I generally feel that the salon does a pretty good job with nails.  Go midday during the week when they have price specials and manis and pedis cost even less if you can.The problem is every time I find someone I like they leave.  I worked with Tiffany, who is no longer there, and I don't remember the name of the woman I used to go to before her.  At the moment there is only one manicurist there I have worked with. She does a pretty decent job, and she's very nice, but the manicures never seem to last.  Even with gel polish they start to chip after 3 or 4 days.  So, if it's convenient for you, check it out. If you go in before 3 PM you can get a gel manicure for only $25, which is a fair price in comparison to other nail salons in the area. My gel manicure looks great and I was happy with my service there. Read Less

I went to Crystal Towers for a Groupon I bought for a Brazilian wax... my first ever! I let Kay know that before we started and she was very attentive, making sure I was comfortable the whole time. It was definitely awkward at first, but the more we talked the more I relaxed. The only complaint I have is the salon is difficult to find. It is in the basement of the apartment building in the South Tower. I ended up asking a resident in the hallway how to get there. Read Less

Helen, Kay and Tiffany are the reason I will always go here as long as I am living here in DC area.  They all do great work - but they are so personable and friendly - work on making your experience there the best! The salon is awkward to locate, but if you can get passed that, they do a fantastic job. Just so you know, it's in the basement of the south tower. I walked in at 6pm on a Friday night and they immediately fit me in. Most nail techs draw a thick line for a French because it's easier, but that wasn't the case here. I think the services here are great.  I have now gotten a wax and a haircut from them.  The waxing prices are very reasonable, and Tiffany did a great job.  She did not give me problems even though I had a Groupon, and even gave me more coupons for after my package runs out.  My haircut was great, I didn't catch the stylists name but she was nice and did a good job.  I'm Asian and have a lot of hair, and she knew how to texturize it and make it lighter.  She did try to sell me on some packages, but just asked me to "think about it".  Everyone is so kind there, and they have quite a following.  One customer came in and brought lunch for all the ladies.  I'm definitely coming back for future haircuts and waxes.Like everyone said, tip in cash! I have recently moved to Cambridge and thought I would try Salon 262. Letty was so friendly from the moment I came into the salon and has given me a brilliant haircut. I am so pleased. If this review was based just on the quality of nails, it would be a 1 star, but the ladies who work here are very nice and accommodating. It has only been 6 days since I got a set of gel nails on, and they are completely falling off and chipping from the front and back of the nail. I've never has gel nails come off so quickly and just literally fall apart. Sad, I like the ladies that work there, but won't return because of the quality of the work. Read Less

I would probably give this place a 4.5/5 but if I have to choose between 4 and 5 stars, I'll give the latter. Stumbled upon this place after seeing a flyer for discounted prices on weekdays before 3pm and after checking this yelp page, figured it was worth a try. Needless to say, I am happy I came here!I arrived around 1:30 with no appointment and was seated almost immediately. Color selection is decent though not as extensive as other places I've been to. Regrettably, I didn't get the name of the lady who services me but she was great! Apparently she does the nails and waxing, but not acrylics. She helped me pick a color based off of what I told her and we got startedShe didn't soak my nails or anything like what I'm used to but my nails look and feel great so I really can't complain. She explained to me all the services she does, as well as what the other women do - nails and waxing, and hair. She engaged in small talk with me and it was far from awkward or painful. I'm not one to talk other than hello and how are you, but she was very sweet and reminded me of a dear friend! She recommended that I go to Helen (I think?) to get my hair done - I told her I hadn't in 3 months and needed to - so after my pleasant experience with this woman, I believe I will be returning for a pedicure and haircut soon!Btw, it is a little hard to find if you aren't familiar with crystal towers.Great service, friendly workers, and good prices!P.s. So I used Yelp to find this spot, and I have to say - my fellow Yelpers did not let me down! I just needed a quick mani for an upcoming wedding. So I made an appt for 6pm after work on a Tuesday. Yes, they were running a few minutes late (it's the time when everyone gets out of work), but Tiffany came over and greeted me with a huge smile and a welcoming chat. She did a fantastic job squaring up my nails, evening out everything, and applying the polish. We chatted and she was very nice and friendly. With the drying time, it took about a solid hour and I was out of there by 7pm. From what I could gather, the place is very busy most of the time - while I was there, there was another male getting a haircut, then a female getting colored, and a few others getting a pedicure. She even told me they have quite a few regulars with standing appts every week. Also, the phone kept ringing off the hook with more people wanting to come in - good thing I made an appointment. When all was said and done, it was only $13 for my manicure and it looked fabulous for the wedding. I even got a few compliments. Bravo!Yelper tip: if you are entering Crystal Towers from the front door, you need to go to the end of the foyer, take a left, and then take the elevators down to the basement.
