This place is adorable. PROS: very pleasant staff, I walked in for the first time at 5:45 pm on a Thursday and got my nails done no wait with MiMi. They give water. Anything I had an issue with when it came to my nails she adjusted to my liking.Good prices and good work. I was referred by a friend to go here to do SNS manicure because my nail salon didn't do them. I was blown away by the quick and excellent service from Ben. Found this amazing little gem while staying in town, Ben did Fantastic job and did a Fun design on my Dip nails that I've never seen anywhere else! i'm not Avid nail salon go or however my experience here has change that normally when I get my nails done it's yeah that looks nice or this is fine is it the first time I walked out of the nail salon absolutely beaming and really liking the job that they did I tried out the S&S nails and really enjoy that better than jail and acrylic acrylic just destroys my nails and gel is good but really needed something to last me for 2 to 3 weeks solid well I'm on my work tripThese definitely did the job look professional and then did exactly what I asked for which is rare in nail salons particularly because I have short bitten nail beds with dry hands and I want a specific look that's a little bit harder to do with my hands and Ben did that.Tips are cash only so you can write over the amount of your services so make sure to bring cash Read Less

Really enjoyed getting my nails done here. I went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Got sat right away and my sns manicure was done to perfection. My only complaint was the design I asked to be put on my nail. At first I tried a complicated heart made of multiple dots. That didn't work so I asked for just a simple heart... that too looked terrible. After a day I took it off. Again, the nail work and experience was great other than the design. I recently moved back to NOVA after graduating from college and I have been on a serious hunt for a nail tech that's just as good as mine from school. Since being back, I've gone to a whopping FIVE nail salons and not to say that they were all bad, but it just wasn't what I was used to. I've been going to Ivy Nails every few weeks for a few years now and LOVE it. They're super clean, they're always on time when I make an appointment and they give you cookies and water while you get your service done. I am gonna give full disclosure...when I get my nails done I only opt for a french manicure. I have yet to master the perfect french manicure, so that's why I come to the professionals. Sunny did one of the best manicures I have had in my life. Seriously, he made it look beyond perfect...I have included pictures so you can judge for yourself. So what's his secret? He paints the tips on first and does a double coat of the white polish. Most places will paint the tip on once. I opted for gel as I am rough on my nails. I liked that they use OPI, it is one of favorite brands. As others have stated a bottle of water and cookies are provided so it's a nice touch.P.S. Apparently they do SNS nails here so when I come back I will try that. I am always concerned with the UV light when I get the gel. Read Less

Just moved to the Alexandria area and needed to find a new nail salon. Found Ivy Nails on Yelp and decided to try it due to the high customer reviews. Ben took care of me and was really great and meticulous with my nails. My gel manicure and pedicure easily lasted three weeks. Definitely felt pampered and will be back! Read Less

I got a manicure done by Sunny. When I walked in there was no receptionist so I had to yell across the store to a tech doing someone else's nails with what service I wanted, not professional at all...strike one. I wanted a regular manure with a gel top coat but was advised they can't do that because it takes to long to dry; however, at all other salons, I've recieved this service, strike two. I was asked to pay for the service before it was complete, strike three. Their eyebrow wax station is simply a chair in the corner of the room, which i happened to be sitting next to, so I heard every conversation between the wax tech and customer getting a wax..not relaxing at all, strike five. Sunny put 2 counts of polish and then IMMEDIATELY put the top coat on. When I asked if the polish was dry yet, he said yes..which I knew it wasn't. Later that day I had air bubbles on each and every nail which ruined the entire manicure. Final stike. I would highly recommend to go somewhere else. Read Less

Wow! I just found my new nail salon. I've been hesitant to go anywhere since moving here because I'm really wary about sanitary practices (which are often well below my standards). Ivy Nails is nice, clean, and very sanitary - you see them using disposable files on everyone, you see the fresh tools being pulled out for each client, you see them lining each foot tub with plastic (that's key). On top of that, their service is fantastic. This honestly was the best pedicure I've ever received (and I had a regular place I went to once a month back home). I opted for the basic ($30) with the callus removal ($5) and a parrafin wax treatment ($7). My technician, Mai, was friendly and did great work, and my friend's technician, Sonny, was very very amiable and also did immaculate work. I'll probably ask for one of them every time I go. The basic pedicure includes an orange slice treatment and a really nice foot and leg massage - they don't skimp on that, and I'm glad I went for the callus treatment. I actually probably didn't need the parrafin because of how smooth my feet were already. She was gentle and didn't overdo it on the exfoliation. They have a FANTASTIC nail polish selection. It's really vast and they use OPI it seems exclusively (with exception of their gel/shellac and SNS). They offer you bottled water and cookies (crackers? I'm unsure but they were freakin delicious) when you arrive, and despite our not having an appointment on a busy Saturday afternoon, our wait was very brief because they had so many employees working. I frantically walked into Ivy Nails the evening before I was going on my vacation for a gel manicure ($35). I was greeted very warmly by the entire staff, and was promptly directed to a chair to begin the process. My nail technician was very detail-oriented and checked up on me frequently to ask whether I was comfortable. I walked out in about ~30 minutes with freshly painted nails that looked great! Ladies, FIND ANOTHER NAIL SALON that won't talk about you and that will appreciate your hard earned money!!! This shop was clean like other reviews say. However, the nail techs are very UNPROFESSIONAL. Especially the lady who I believe was the owner, Tina, because she was very distracted with other things going on in the shop while she was doing my nails. I'm Vietnamese but they assumed that I was Korean so they continued to talk BADLY about every single customer, including me and my friend. Regretfully, I did leave a good tip because she did a decent job. But that wasn't even appreciated because she said in Vietnamese "the Korean girl left me a big tip on a $30 pedicure." She said it with a tone like "why would someone tip that much on a regular pedicure". That was the last straw for me. Read Less

Wasn't going to write a review, but I'm kind of tired of going into nail salons with poor customer service. When I came in, the nail tech at the counter said it was too late since they were closing in 15 minutes. However, the guy who manages or owns the place said that I could come in IF I get gel since it dries quicker. We all know that gel is more costly than other services. But since I really needed my nails done, I went along with it. The lady who did my nails was so upset and seemed like she was rushing. I could clearly tell she was talking about me in her language. That's SO rude and customers know when that's happening. They had the nerve to lie and say she's talking about her family and not the customers. My nail tech even talked about another customers situation to me, which was very unprofessional. I would give only one star; however, one of the nail techs was very nice and made up for the other rude ones. She was very kind and offered me cookies and water. The tech who painted my nails did a great job. But as soon as they were done, the rude nail tech set the alarm and basically had me standing outside in the cold. Luckily my uber came on time or I would've been in the cold for sure. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The service was over priced and the customer service was overall not good. I came here for a pedicure since I heard good reviews. It was nothing special that you can't get at another nail salon, especially for the price. I paid $30 for a basic pedicure because of the orange and flower petal treatment they advertised. They gave me some dumb excuse as to why they can't use the flower petals and tried to charge me more for the orange treatment. When I pointed out that it was included in the service requested, they just tried to upsell me again. Needless to say, the orange treatment was just the technician rubbing an orange on your feet for a few seconds and then rinsing. I can hardly imagine there was much benefit to this technique. In all, I feel as if I paid for something I really didn't receive. But I will say their attitude and demeanor is professional and nice. I finally found the best nail salon in the DC, MD and VA areas!!! The staff is excellent at their trade and very personable too. I visited them today for the first time and Ben gave me the most beautiful and most excellent pink and white sns nail treatment. I am actually thrilled at how my nails look!
