I think I found Image Nails shortly after I moved to the area in 2014. I have received services by both Vivian and Jan; Vivian does my gel manis and Jan often times handles my pedis. I have inherently dry skin, terrible cuticles, and I'm also a biter, so nail techs have their work cut out for them when I come in. At the same time, I am a perfectionist and very picky with respect to how my nails are done. Vivian is a perfectionist in her own right and she always takes her time with me. Image is a small, intimate shop and Vivian has a loyal fan base; and for those of us that know that always make certain to get on her book in advance for routine appts. This doesn't mean they don't take walk-ins, but your best bet is to call ahead or book online for an appt. I've lived in Philly, NYC and DC and have been getting my nails done for almost two decades now, and Vivian and Jan are the best technicians I've ever had. They truly are artists of their craft. I recently moved to the area and was worried about finding a new nail salon. Vivian is amazing! She takes her time, every time, and your gel manicure will last. She always has new colors too. Jan is her only other employee and also does an awesome job. It’s appintment only and worth every penny! The only downside to her salon is her upstairs neighbors. You can hear them walking around and making random noises, which isn’t always the best when you are trying to relax! I realize this isn’t Vivian’s fault, but I hope they quiet down soon.

I called to make an appointment for a gel removal and gel manicure. Vivian was able to squeeze me in with short notice (but it was late morning on a weekday). Her polish technique and cuticle trimming are impeccable. Great hand massage from Lyn too! I'm hoping that this mani lasts for 2+ weeks!

Was given a normal non gel manicure, and was told by one of the employees that my fingernails were dry. Went to the use the bathroom and somehow the nail polish had smudged off. Was told it was my fault, that I shouldn't have been so active after receiving this polish, but was told by an employee it was dry. Twice this polish came off. One of my thumbs was left without ANY polish, I was told I could stay and get it done a third time but I was late for a photo shoot. I left with nine nails polished. They took only five dollars off the bill. This was the worst service ever. It's a shame because I had had a great conversation with the nail technician. I really don't like being blamed, in front of the whole room, for moving too much when I was told it was okay to move in the first place.

I rarely leave reviews for these things but have to say this was one of the best manicures I've ever had! I came here last minute from out of town and was seen immediately. I didn't get the manicurist's name but she was so thorough and detailed - my manicure lasted for 5 days without chipping. FIVE DAYS. Most of the time, mine chip after 1-2 so I rarely get them. Great, friendly service and high quality manicure. Good prices too. Highly recommend!

This was my first experience here, and I loved every minute of it! The technicians were professional, accommodating and comical! As a newcomer to the area, I was dreading the process of finding a new nail shop... but they made the transition easy. The shop is small and intimate, perfect for a catered experience! I have tried several nail salons since I moved to the D.C. area and this place does the best job. They are consistent and take their time to make sure that every nail looks perfect. I have the perfect shape and my gel manis last for weeks. Not the place for you if you are more into the looks of the salon. This place is a bit older and not as shnazzy, but super duper relaxing and quiet with calming music.

This is a small no-frills place but they are 100% worth your visit & money. Spa pedicure by Jan will leave you feeling like you have new legs & feet. So good. Spa manicure includes a shoulder & arm massage. Regular services are good too. Very meticulous. Friendly and kind. They'll recognize your face if not your name even after a visit or two. They get busy so appointments will insure you get a spot - but they take walk-ins too.

Went in on a Thursday, around 4PM. Needed two pedicures and a manicure for my Mom and me. There was one nail tech working on a girl's manicure. Upon our request for service the nail tech simply checked her phone and said there was "no one available." So we wasted our time and money (parking is metered) coming to this place. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME EVEN DRIVING TO THIS MAKESHIFT NAIL SALON!!!

Best pedicure I've ever had due to the thoroughness and extensive care given by my nail tech. The foot and leg massage part of the pedicure was far longer (and better) than anywhere else I've been, and the prices are fantastic! I will definitely be going there from now on for all my nail and waxing needs. I HIGHLY recommend this salon!!!!!!

The cut and dry- place maybe a little older and small, but in the end the actual services are amazing. For their normal, reasonable prices they do more then I've ever seen at any other nails salon. You may have to wait a bit as its small, but it's totally worth it! Excellent job, the ladies are Vietnamese, and yes, they speak English (lol). This is def my new place. Also- despite being in down town there's an actual parking lot across the street from this place!

She did a good job with making my cuticles look nice and the paint was well done and neat however she was unable to do the design I wanted after she painted my nails a color specifically to go with the design.... And didn't want to redo the color since it was going to be on by itself so I'm left with basically black nails (gel polish) and no design. Not only that but she rushed through the the drying process so that my thumb never dried and one week later the middle of it peeled off after significant smudging. Rushed through the hand massage as well- I mean like it was about 15 sec. Never going back!

The service at image nails is amazing! I was born & raised in Alexandria & have been to every nail salon in Alexandria in an attempt to find a nail tech that is both good at what they do & nice/pleasant. I found Vivian at Image nails & i will never go anywhere else!! She cares about the small details & takes pride in her work. I've done acrylic for 14 years & she convinced me to switch to gel nails. Nails that used to last 2 weeks can now easily last me 5-7 weeks thanks to Vivian!! As a Director of one business & a small business owner I have very little time for myself. Getting my nails done is one of the few times I get to treat myself. The techs are nice, the music is good & the work is flawless. Image nails always makes it a positive, peaceful experience.

I recently moved to the area and was worried about finding a new nail salon. Vivian is amazing! She takes her time, every time, and your gel manicure will last. She always has new colors too. Was given a normal non gel manicure, and was told by one of the employees that my fingernails were dry. Went to the use the bathroom and somehow the nail polish had smudged off. I have tried several nail salons since I moved to the D.C. area and this place does the best job. They are consistent and take their time to make sure that every nail looks perfect. Went in on a Thursday, around 4PM. Needed two pedicures and a manicure for my Mom and me. There was one nail tech working on a girl's manicure. Best pedicure I've ever had due to the thoroughness and extensive care given by my nail tech. The foot and leg massage part of the pedicure was far longer (and better) than anywhere else I've been, and the prices are fantastic! I will definitely be going there from now on for all my nail and waxing needs. I HIGHLY recommend this salon!!!!!!

The cut and dry- place maybe a little older and small, but in the end the actual services are amazing. For their normal, reasonable prices they do more then I've ever seen at any other nails salon. You may have to wait a bit as its small, but it's totally worth it! Excellent job, the ladies are Vietnamese, and yes, they speak English (lol). This is def my new place. She did a good job with making my cuticles look nice and the paint was well done and neat however she was unable to do the design I wanted after she painted my nails a color specifically to go with the design.... And didn't want to redo the color since it was going to be on by itself so I'm left with basically black nails (gel polish) and no design. I was born & raised in Alexandria & have been to every nail salon in Alexandria in an attempt to find a nail tech that is both good at what they do & nice/pleasant. I found Vivian at Image nails & i will never go anywhere else!! She cares about the small details & takes pride in her work. I've done acrylic for 14 years & she convinced me to switch to gel nails.
