My bridesmaids and I went to this salon the day before my wedding and it was the WORST experience I have ever had. First they rush us to pick colors even though it wasn't busy in the salon. I get some lady who thinks talking and texting on her phone is more important than the quality of my nails. Once she rushed and finished my polish she sends me to get my pedicure where I waited for 25 minutes for ANOTHER (rude) lady to begin. The pedicure lasted maybe 8 min and they charged me $28. $28 freaking dollars for this lady to take my polish off and put new on. Not even scrub my feet, massage my legs, nothing. Bottom line is don't go to this salon. My nails were horrible for my wedding and the manager just told me it's a learning experience for their employees. Read Less

We have been going here for a few years now, but I think I have to finally find a new spot. It's always hit or miss with the service. Today we walked in for two mani/pedis. My person (Miki) was fabulous! However the other person decided that my friend wasn't getting a manicure. He argued with the receptionist and told my friend to sit at the dryer. When I went to the front, he was taking out his trash and cleaning up to go. We were tempted to not leave him a tip - but we did, paid and left immediately. If he didn't want to do a manicure, he could have passed her on to another person. And that is the last time I will walk through the door. I've been going to Healthy Nail Spa since 2014. I've found that the salon is consistently clean, tidy and comfortable. The only reason I've rated my review four stars is that sometimes the skill of the technicians fluctuates from great to average. One of my favorite technicians is Kelly; I highly recommend her for gel/SNS manicures/pedicures. The pricing is reasonable for the DC metro area. I find myself returning to this salon whenever my nails need attention, even though I live in NW DC. Read Less

This location is nice. Staff is friendly. I go in for routine pedicures. They recently STOPPED offering military discount to military spouses and only offer to the active duty member now. I noticed on the wall where they provide everyones license that some expired in 2015. Hopefully they just have not updated the wall. Read Less

I've been going to this place for a year or so now. Generally the experience is good. I usually would get gel or SNS. I don't prefer the male technicians as they are the only ones who have made my cuticles bleed and are just too rough when shoving my cuticles back. I am annoyed that they charged me $12 to remove SNS color from 6 of my fingers so that I could get a new manicure. I mean how else was I going to get a mani?? Seems obvious that the old color has to come off and so $2 a nail to take off the old color seems ridiculous. I would have picked them off myself had I known of that dumb policy which they were quick to inform was the managers choice. Then I got a manicure. The $17 one. They "dried" for 15 minutes and then I literally slid the color off my thumbnail. They repaired it. Sat there another 15 minutes drying. It's been less than 5 hours. They already chipped. The color is lumpy and basically just a really poor job. I will be looking around before going back here. Read Less

I went in with my friend to get my nails done (I am a Grandma and not hip to the SNS and prefer acrylic). She had called ahead to let them know what we were coming in for. She had SNS done to her nails and they looked superb. I on the other hand had a horrendous experience with Jenny who was nice but unexperienced in acrylics. (She did pressure me to get the SNS at several points during my experience). I stopped her several times because the acrylic was laid on too thick, not shaped, several chips, and four of my cuticles were cut (aka bleeding). She was aggressive and rushing towards the end, so before leaving I took off the nail color because it was awful.  The receptionist/hostess was amazing handling my frustrations and allowing me to use the nail polish remover before leaving. I would advise you to stay away from this establishment; do not waste your money. I had the worst possible nail salon experience here! I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others so they don't waste their time and money. Two different nail techs had to paint and remove my gel polish on my natural nails TWICE (separately), without me saying a word, because their nail work was that noticeably unprofessional. I waited patiently the second time around because the first tech seemed to have no clue what she was doing and I figured maybe she was new. Finally, after the 2nd nail tech painted one hand, I asked him to stop, because honestly, it looked ridiculous---I was shocked. It was uneven, there was polish all over my cuticles, smudges etc. I wish I took a picture because it literally looked like a 2nd grader dropped nail polish on my nails. I showed the manager my nails because I could not afford to sit in that chair any longer; I was in a time crunch because I was in a wedding that weekend and quite frankly, this whole experience was completely unacceptable. The manager was extremely unprofessional, rude, and got EXTREMELY defensive when I showed him my nails...it was quite odd. I'm the one who wasted all that time in your salon for your nail techs to treat my nails like a science project. No apology, nothing from the manager. I've never seen someone conduct business in that manner. Needless to say of course I left upset with bare nails. Complete waste of time. Awful establishment. I came here and requested SNS and have the acrylic taken off. I got charged the $12 for take off and it was never taken off. I went somewhere else on yesterday and they had to remove all the acrylic. One of the best nail spas I've used in this area, and I've used many. I always receive excellent service and I have a standing appointment every three weeks. It's extremely clean, the tools are not reused, they care about the actual state of your nails since they refuse to perform techniques that can harm your nails. They offer various pedicures that are not pricey when considered and compared to other salons. Good parking and easy to get to. I highly recommend this salon. Read Less

I walked in for a pedicure shortly after they opened one morning and I got a warm greeting and was quickly seen. The place is actually quite lovely, has an upscale type feel. I wish I could give 5 stars however, I contracted a cuticle infection less than 24 hours after my visit die to either the tools that were used or the pedicure tub not being properly cleaned. As many years as I've gotten pedicures this was the first time I've ever gotten an infection due to the salons uncleanliness. If cleanliness is important to you, I would highly recommend asking your tools/equipment to be cleaned in front of you before they start your services. Read Less

For nail salons, this is about the best around. Always very clean, chairs are great. I've been going for about 2 years and haven't had any bad experiences. Great selection of colors in varieties of styles (polish, gel, powder). Lori Trang is the best, though, all my accolades to her. She is always thorough, not lazy and takes great care of me. You have to be careful when you come here. My normal tech was gone, so I sat at station 5. This woman ripped my entire nail off (I can see the clear nail bed) without first trying to gently remove the SNS that had lifted. She did not apologize when it occurred, nor when I mentioned it minutes later. It made me wonder if she was licensed. No one removes a lifted nail that way. She then clipped my almond shaped nails across the middle, eliminating the possibility of retaining the almond shape that I'd requested. I was here once last year and the service was great. However, my husband and I had a very bad experience tonight. The nail technicians were great, however the manager kept passing by staring at us and speaking in his language and I believe he was telling them to hurry up. We paid for the special new Spa that cost $38 each it really should have costed no more than the regular price of $28 each because they were done within maybe 20 minutes. It was the fastest pedicure I have ever had in my life. And not only that but while they were painting my toenails they asked for the payment and said we are closing soon. Then they told me that within 5 minutes that I could leave because my toes would be dry. Not the experience we were looking for tonight, I would have been content if they would have just done the 30 minutes that the spa treatment said it should be. I went on a Friday at 5ish. I only waited 5-10 minutes to begin my pedicure. My nail technician was lazy. I won't say her name because IHope she sees this and decides to do better.  I asked her to please pumice certain areas of my feet and she may have swiped the stone across those areas 3 times. She acted like she didn't want any direction from me. But she needed it because otherwise I would have gotten a pedicure I could have given myself. She cut me while clipping my cuticles and continued to cut in the same area. Didn't mention that she had drawn blood, just kept going. Massage was not thorough at all. Just a lazy pedi. I asked for a matching gel polish color to go with my pedi. If they didn't have that, I asked for a French. She immediately skipped to French lol. Another nail tech helped me find a combination of 2 colors that seems to match my toes pretty closely. My nail tech immediately said not that won't work...so we tried it and it did.  She said she only tried it bc she wasn't gonna take it off if I didn't like it. Lol. What I can say is that she shaped and painted my nails nicely and my nails look good.  But I think that's all this lady cared about. I gave the salon 3 stars because my nails look good. Read Less

Came here on Sunday 3-19-17 around 5:30pm, 30 minutes before they close. When I walked in the receptionist was nice and greeted me and I requested to have a nail polish change on my toes and to fix a broken natural nail that I had along with change my gel polish on my fingernails. I was assigned to Amy Lieu and she was amazing. She did a great job at just removing all the old polish from my toes and re polishing with my choice of color. She did an amazing job at removing my old gel polishing and fixing my thumb nail and it was bad. It was broken to my flesh. It didn't hurt when she fixed it and it's two days later now and it's firm and smooth.Overall I will definitely be back to try their spa pedicure and get an actual manicure in two weeks. Read Less

I have to be honest, I was a little off-put by such low ratings on yelp that I almost didn't come here. I'm glad I went off of the Google ratings instead and gave it a shot, what a wonderful experience! I came to this salon after having had an awful experience at Ivy Nails and needed to get my SNS completely redone. I was put with Julie and she could not have been more lovely and attentive. She was extremely careful not to cause any damage to my nails, as they had been filed and manicured the day before. She took her time and was extremely meticulous, the SNS manicure ended up coming out perfectly. It's the best that I have had, especially in this area. Good: Clean. Good water temp. Polite. Bad... I got a basic mani/pedi. The girl did not do cuticles for my pedicure and barely did for my mani. It's been a bit since I had my last mani/pedi, so it was def needed. She redid a nail after I was done drying. And finally when I went into my handbag this am I realized she didn't tighten the nail polish I brought, even after she insisted she put it in my bag so I didn't ruin my nails. My daughter and I went to this shop for refills.  AMY did a GREAT job on my daughter's nails and the design on her nails was so cute and age appropriate.  I will totally take my daughter back to her again.   If I could leave more than one review for here I would give AMY 4 STARS!!However, Eric did my nails.  When he was looking at my nails before beginning, I told him that I would like the old gel removed from 3 nails since they had lifted and would leave lines if they were refilled.  He kept trying to tell me that I NEEDED a whole new set.  Which was ridiculous!  I had just had my last refill with my usual nail tech only 2 and a half weeks prior to seeing Eric, and only 3 nails had lifted.  The rest of my nails were still in great shape, and just needed a fill.  After my insisting that I did not need, nor would I get a whole new set, and that I only wanted a refill with new gel on 3 of my nails he started.  He did not remove the old, gel from the 3 nails that had lifted, even after I reminded him several times.  Each time I reminded him, he simply said I know, and kept doing only a refill on ALL of the nails.  Once he was done filling them, before he started filing them, I told him that I liked the edges of my nails to go straight out, and NOT to be filed in at all.  He said ok, but then started filing the edges of my nails in.  When I reminded him that I didn't want the edges of my nails filed, he only said I know and kept filing my edges away.  After I saw that he wouldn't take anything I said into consideration about how I want my nails, I put my nail polish that I had brought with me away and he wondered why and asked why I didn't want my nails polished at all.   At the end of my experience with him, I have huge ugly refill lines in 3 of my nails, all of the edges of my nails filed away, and my nails are now completely round, instead of the rounded square that I love.  To be blunt, I HATE what he did with my nails, and hate even more that I have to get all of my nails cut down to the skin, and get tips put on to undo what he did to them.  I WILL NEVER let him near my hands or feet again, NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!!!!  If I could, I would give him 0 stars!!! Nice experience and nice nail salon. Unfortunately I forgot to check yelp before I came here to get an SNS nail manicure. This was my first time getting SNS but I knew it should last for at least 3 weeks. Within days of getting my nails done in a light pink color, I could see them all begin to lift up around the cuticle area. Within 10 days, my middle finger chipped, and two other nails came off. I think this was a terrible job and will never go back to get an SNS manicure there or any manicure for that matter. What a huge disappointment! Read Less

My mom came to this place before she had to travel south for a funeral. She got a gel manicure and loved the service she received. However one day later  her polish was totally chipped....we couldn't believe it, being that it was a gel manicure and it was very pricey.She doesn't live here and couldn't ask them to fix it but she will be visiting soon and I hope this place will do something for her trouble. She had to go to another salon in the south and pay to have it fixed. It was an inconvenience on her time and finances. Hands down the best pedicure I've had in awhile. My husband and I stopped in here on a random Monday around lunch time to get pedicures. I was immediately taken aback by how well decorated the place was. I enjoyed the interesting chandeliers that appeared paper-like and the draping. It gave this place a more luxurious feel.The multitude of options and brands made selecting a nail paint color pretty easy. I always love it when a shop has OPI. I find that even a basic manicure/pedicure with basic OPI polish lasts longer than the cheaper brand polishes. After picking polish, we were shown to 2 very nice bowls and massage chairs with 2 very nice techs. Everything looked pristine.We both opted for spa pedicures. My husband hardly ever gets pedicures so we wanted to experience the works. Both pedicures lasted about an hour and included massages. They were worth it and weren't too expensive. Service was beyond stellar. My nail tech even gave me a shoulder massage as I was drying. Not sure if that was included in my spa pedicure package or if I just looked tense but it was much appreciated nonetheless.Overall, a positive and relaxing experience. This seems like a great atmosphere to have a spa party and rent out for manicures and pedicures with your girlfriends. Read Less

AMAZING!! I literally just walked out and am sitting in my car. The specialist I had was named Kong and he is so sweet, so attentive, so knowledgable, and makes you feel like you are his number one client. In fact everyone I saw there was receiving well-deserved attention. I cannot say enough good things about this experience and this nail salon. Definitely two thumbs up and I highly endorse Kong if you're looking to ask for a specific specialist.The establishment is easy to locate, has plenty of parking, and is very clean. They have a ton of different options to pick from and they are not forceful at all in trying to sell you on their different spa options. The price I paid was less than I was expecting but completely worth every penny. I also have no regrets in giving this salon my payment as from the moment I walked in I was greeted and attended to. This place is okay. I've gone to do my nails twice and both times I was not 100% satisfied with the way my nails turned out. There are two things I didn't appreciate, one being how rough they are on my nails and hands, and the second is the nail tech did not match up my hands to make sure all my nails were the same size. This was really annoying because as you can tell from the picture you can clearly see the difference in size. I will continue my search for a better salon. Read Less

Tried this spot for a relaxing Mommy treat. This is how it went...Peppermint Pedicure, SNS manicure, and eyebrows. Vincent did a good job on my nails and Nancy did good with my eyebrows. However, Vincent scrapped my foot because he was a little too rough during parts of my pedicure. The whole cutting my heel really got to me especially being as though I wasn't offered a discount for my inconvenience. I still tipped a little because he was very apologetic and outside of the scrape on my foot did a decent job. Pedicure was nothing special and I had to pay extra for callus removal which was just a rougher callus stone, something I the should be included in a regular pedicure. I had also called ahead for the pedicure and an eyelash perm, but waited over 30 mins for the eyelash perm since only one lady knew how to do it. I've had this done at other places and the procedure took forever and multiple tries, not sure if she really knew what she was doing.Then they raised the price on me, saying they needed to update their price list... I debated one or two stars. But then I looked at my nails and that decided it. It doesn't matter if the people are sweet. It doesn't matter if I like the cleanliness and decor. What matters is that I paid $71 for a pedi and gel mani and there is only one nail that still looks good on the 4th day. 6 nails have peeled off completely. The rest are lifting at the bottom. They do not know how to apply wax. Do not know what temperature is too high or hot enough and that cause some folks I know major skin irritations and burn. Stay away. The place looks nice but they have no clue. A real sweat shop for people needing work. The manager won't even recognize the violations of health taking place and notOnly that he would allow himself to raise his voice at any customer not happy with the service. If you are thinking of getting your nails done here, please make alternate plans and go to their sister property Color Nails across the street.  There you will get the better techs, people who will talk to you in English and try to make things better for you, and better quality work. I have learned my lesson!I went here two and a half weeks ago and got a new set of French SNS tips done since I couldn't get in to see my regular tech at Color Nails (the original property). The set I had done was very good and I was pleased with the work. It held up well and I had no issue with returning for my regular fill in to be done. I have been wearing SNS nails (in nothing but a French manicure) for over 4 years, so I am thoroughly versed in the technique used to put them on as well as to do a fill in or a repair. The tech that originally put the set on was not there so I got Amy L. I was the only customer in the place at 7:15 Pm besides a lady who was getting a gel polish.  There were three other techs, including one gentleman who is the "manager". When I sat down I said I wanted an SNS fill with a French again, and that I also wanted a manicure as well.  Across the street this is $45 (keep that in mind for the rest of the review). Amy gets out foil and cotton and starts wrapping my nails.  I thought this was odd as that's only done to take nails off, but allowed her to proceed in case it was easier for her to take off the initial layer to do the fill.  Well, she goes back and does a second round this time taking some of the tips off as well.  I asked her what she was doing and she said that I had to get a new set of tips every time I had a fill done because the white part would never fully come off.  I said that was not true because I had been getting my nails done this way for 4 years across the street and I had never ever had to have that done. She then had the audacity to tell me I had no idea what I was talking about and that they had been doing it wrong all along. She also tried to tell me that the bubble in my thumbnail powder was because of washing my hands too much since there was a good seal on my nail. I told her that I do not wash my hands more than a normal human does, and that if this was the case all of my nails would have bubbles in them because of the seal coming up because of the grow out. I am not stupid, and this is the same excuse another person with SNS was told so beware. Lastly, even with the bubble it at worst needed to have it sanded down and started over but with the nail tip intact. At this point, I am starting to get heated because she then starts speaking to her coworkers in Vietnamese and they one by one come over and start looking at my nails,  looking at me,  then again their heads.  I said to Amy that I just wanted a gel manicure at that point and she said it would be $50. I said no way. I said just a regular manicure and she said it would still be $50 because she had to leave a layer of the SNS powder on my nails. I am thoroughly pissed off by this point.  The manager guy comes over and basically shrugged his shoulders and walked off.  They asked me if I could pay then so they could close out. I said how much would it be and she said again it would be $50 even if I took off all the SNS I originally came in with (which I never wanted messed with save for the regular fill) and got plain polish. At that point I lost it and said to just take it all completely off, file them down into an oval shape, and forget everything else. What happened? See my pics. She didn't remove all the powder (there is still a very thin layer left on my nails) and filed them square. I told her twice that I wanted them rounded. She just rounded off the edges.  But the best part out of this (outside of her telling me the entire angry time that she's been doing this her whole life and I must never have had a French SNS before) was when she said to me "Now you can leave your nails natural for a while and take a break." I told her that I had no intention of taking a break since I never wanted them off in the first place and that I would very going elsewhere as soon as possible to get the service I originally came in for. She seemed pissed off then but you know what? It was nothing compared to how pissed I was. When I stopped at the desk to check out,  I was charged $12 for this crap. I should have said that I wasn't going to pay, but it would hurt the rest of the people in the shop. Needless to say I did not leave a tip nor will I be back. Read Less
