The gel they use here is NOT like regular shellac or gel at any other nail place. It’s so thick and strong! I have been going to Shawnee for 3 years now and she never disappoints. I’m a hairstylist and nothing has ever lasted on my nails so well. Not gel polish, not gels or acrylics. Everything has lifted after a full day of work in the salon. I love glamour gels! This place is awesome! I’ve tried several nail salons over the past 12 years and no where compares! The product is the best out there! I am a hair stylist and generally my nails lift or chip with in the first few weeks after getting them done! My nails lasted 3 full weeks before I went in for a color change! No lift or chips! My best friend and I have been coming here once a month for almost the past year and I had been going for a few months before that. Last month, we started her 9 year old daughter on them too. She's kind of a rough kid and they lasted so well for her! My nails had always been brittle and i picked/bit at them a ton. After reading awesome reviews about this salon, my sister and I went in last week to get our nails done. I was so excited! The front desk girls were awesome! The salon itself is beautiful and well set up. But I left feeling so upset about paying so much money for service that wasn't up to par. The technician did nothing to my cuticles. She didn't paint all the way to the bottom of my nails or paint the top of my nails. I asked for navy blue nails, and because the formulas go... on top of black, my nails were still 60% black. And they were just GLOBS of paint. They were so uneven. The glitter nails I paid for weren't fully covered with glitter. And the nail art I paid for looked nothing like the picture I showed her. I was very surprised when she said she has worked there for years. You would NEVER guess that by looking at my nails. The worst part was that while she was doing my nails, she kept saying "man, I'm so good!" I hate giving bad reviews, but I just still can't get over paying $50 for something like feels like I went to a nail school and should have paid less than $20 for. My sister had a great experience and her nails turned out beautifully! I just wish my experience had been better. I always love that I can get gel toes and gel nails at the same time. I appreciate their efforts in helping me consolidate time. Plus... I am very disappointed in my experience here! I was very excited to go here after reading some good reviews. I called and scheduled an appt for a gel set and a pedicure. I got there and they explained the lux pedicure so I decided to go with that, sounded very relaxing! My nails took a bit longer so by the time it came for my pedicure they told me there wasn't enough time for the lux package that I would have to do the basic package. I'm sorry but even for a basic pedicure th...is was the worst I have ever had. The pedicure lasted for maybe a total of 15 minutes if that. Put my feet in some water, put some lotion on and painted my toe nails, didn't even trim them or work on my cuticles or anything And then completely missed putting polish on one of my toes on my left foot. On my nails and toe nails you can still see the old color from my last set, so that didn't even get all removed before putting the new polish and gel set on. I felt things were very rushed and the quality is not what I expected after paying so much. And I'm ok with paying more for something that will last and is good quality. I thought I would try Glamour Gels and see if they could be a replacement. I called ahead of time and explained that I had gel nails and needed a fill. The receptionist was so confused that I finally had to ask for a manager so I could make sure they understood what I had and they said they could accommodate. She told me to ...expect $25-35. When I arrived, they put me with a more experienced tech. I elected to have chrome polish on 2 of my nails, which was $2 more. I also got a couple gems on 2 nails, which also cost more. By the end of my appointment, they checked me out and my $25-35 went to $59!!! The nails were done and there was nothing else I could do at that point, but they reassured me that my nails are guaranteed for 3 weeks. I paid and left. The next day 2 of my 4 gems fell off. I called the salon and they don't cover add ons in their guarantee. They apologized that the tech did not tell me. In 2 more days another gem fell off. In a week, one of my nails broke while I was on vacation. Then 2 more broke....all within my 3 weeks. I called the salon and didn't get answer, so I emailed through their site with atteched photos of all the problems. Melissa got back with me and apologized, saying that she was sorry about the gems not being covered (no reason for me to ever pay for something that no one stands behind) and that she will have another master tech redo a new set completely complimentary. She mentioned 2 that could do it. I immediately emailed her back and asked when. No response. I emailed her the next day. No response. I called Friday (finally 3 weeks to the day from my last appointment) and had to leave a msg for her because she was "in a meeting". I called again today (Monday) and was told the very same thing. Be careful of this beautiful, high end feeling place. You will be paying for every little thing they do, and outside of the tags on the nail samples, you will be left to guess what it will cost you. But worse, their guarantee is not real. I feel like they never intended to make this right. we called in the morning to make an appointment for later in the day. While on the phone the receptionist was nice but the confusion was so frustrating. She kept telling us she couldn't do what we needed ( we were all trying to get mani-pedi). We were told there was only time for two and they didn't have time for the third person (they said they would do just nails after one of the others was done). Once we got there it was so confusing. First of all we walked in and no one said anything to us! We stood there for a solid five minutes after someone finally said "do you have an appointment?" Which we did. The appointment got booked so wrong. (I was butthurt bc it was our friends birthday). So after someone else came and assisted the girls at the front to figure it out we were all seated. One got a mani-pedi, one just gel polish and they only had time to do polish on my nails. Don't get me wrong the place is super cute! I just wish that they service was better. Cute gal with mermaid tattoo really helped us out but everyone else kinda judged us and didn't want to help. They were just frustrated with us in general and we could all tell. So uncomfortable. While birthday girl was getting her toes done she made a comment on how horrible the last person did her toes too lol. I paid 20$ for my nails just to get painted. Literally just painted ( they advertise "massage and other bs that didn't happen, but anyways they chipped within a day too, reason why I wanted gel in the first place but oh well). One star because ZERO stars are not an option. 1. I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment and not greeted or asked to sit down at the only chair available next to the Essie nail polish display. 2. I'm super confused at what exactly this place of business is. Special formulated gel nail salon (the owner is a scientist!?!)? Kate Spade (fake?) retailer?  Clinique Happy samples? Clothing store? Blow dry bar? I'm just so confused. Please, someone explain this to me. It's a one stop shop. 3. Ten minutes of browsing the shop I was told that my stylist would be out after she finished her lunch. "They thought they had a break." No apology. Nothing. 3a. I had a cut on my finger and I went to the toilet to wash my hands. The room smelled like someone with IBS had gone before me. The candle on the back of the toilet wasn't going to fix that -not even a priest could've fixed that. Anyway, I left the door open to prevent me from passing out while I washed my hands. No soap. Uh...if there was no soap for my cut finger what did IBS use? 4. Stylist, M, approached very friendly. Yay! Something positive right? The wash was good, products smelled fab. Neck massage was a bit too rough -my fault for not saying anything. 4a. This blow dry bar looks suspiciously similar to another blow dry bar I've been to in the valley but this one was way too messy so there's NO comparison there. The washing station felt a bit more like a bowling alley, very squished. I was offered a beverage of water or Coke products. A kid-size paper cup with a yellow straw with cold, ice less Coke arrived in my hand. I kid you not. I'm an adult people. I digress...5. Conversation was pleasant until asked about previous employment. Then it was like a loose cannon. My stylist and the stylist next to me started talking smack about their previous salon where they came from (mine left first and took the other one with her to this place) and how they had been "harassed" by their previous employer. I felt a little uncomfortable and embarrassed for them honestly. For someone so positive to speak so ill of another local business was an experience I never want to experience again. Name calling. Slandering. Playing victim. Just terrible really. I'm a complete stranger to these girls and they just spilled the beans. 6. If you want nasty, untruthful gossip and a mediocre hair job this is your place. Pick up some special formulated gel nail polish while you're at it. Read Less

I was in the area and ran in quickly for a manicure.  Not sure if there was a misunderstanding or what happened, but I ended up with a manicure that included just a polish change.  My polish looks good, but I needed a full manicure with cuticle trimming etc.  I thought that was what I was getting for $40.   The technician was great and professional, but the price is really high for the service I received. I made my appointment at Glamour Gels Nail Bar and got there, waited 20 minutes after my appointment time, and was told they couldn't take off my acrylic nails (which I asked on the phone) and that they couldn't see me today I drove like 20 miles for that.. Not a good way to impress a new customer who wanted to start getting gel nails. The girl w pink hair was completely unhelpful and made me feel like it was a chore to not do my nails. Read Less
