Sky Nails is lovely and minimalist in the best way possible, with great color choices. Both of the nail techs I've received manicures from were great. Kate is amazing!!! If you want the best nails you need to try this salon. Just make sure you text for an appointment first because she does get busy. Kate is understanding and won't try to push you towards something you don't like. She always makes my nails short without getting upset (another salon I used to go to would). Kate is very attentive and offers to help or get anything from the store next door. I live in Ogden and come to Sky Nails in SLC for the gel powder 'dip nail' manicure. This is the best type of overlay manicure I have ever had and as a hairstylist I do some damage to my nails. Without fail my nails look good for almost three weeks when I need another fill. I always see Lance or Kate and they do a great job to try to accommodate me. It is helpful to call and make an appointment if you're on a time crunch though. Got a pedicure for the first time here today by Janey and she did a good job on that too. I haft to first say that the atmosphere was wonderful. The place was clean. The greeting at the door was perfect. I got my nails done 2x here now and my lashes. The woman that did my lashes was fabulous, she did a good job. She even went the extra mile to help me be comfortable. If I could do 2 reviews I would 5 stars to her. The woman that did my nails was so rude, it was close to the end of the day and I could see she was in a rush to leave and that’s exactly how my nails looked, rushed and uneven. I have got my nails at multiple salons and I have done nails myself so as she was doing my nails I noticed she was doing it very quick. I mentioned that they might need to be sanded a little bit more. After my comment she looked at me and just stared blankly as she made eye contact as if she was kindly telling me I didn’t know what I was talking about. I felt uncomfortable sitting there but I didn’t have the heart to be rude and tell her I no longer wanted her to do my nails and I wanted another nail artist. I went to Sky Nails for the first time on Friday. I had them do some intricate work and she did a really, really great job for what I was asking for. The only reason I’m not giving a 5/5 stars is because one nail is already lifting and it’s only been a few days. Other than that, they did a great job on my nails! I will definitely be back!! I went there for the first and last time. Had gone in for a mani/pedi and the woman cut the cuticle on my right foot and I had a heck of a time trying to stop the bleeding. She did the same thing to the cuticle on my right hand. Never again! Read Less

Before this last weekend, I would have given Sky Nails 5 stars. In the past, I've had high quality manicures and pedicures with shellac that have lasted weeks, for a fraction of the cost of most nail salons.I went to sky nails this weekend, and I did leave with perfectly manicured toes, but my legs are now throbbing in pain and i can see bruises starting to come in. I got the "pearl pedicure", which is their most expensive of the pedicures, and with the additional cost, you're supposed to get a massage with lotions and such. When he was "massaging" my legs, his thumbs were working not my calf, but either side of my shin. It hurt HORRIBLY. I winced, said ow, and he stopped for a bit, only to go back to massaging the same area with so much force that my legs hurt with even the slightest touch now. In short, Sky Nails is usually great for what you pay. But, this last time around was really painful, and I thought others should be made aware. I got my nails done there a week ago I absolutely hated them they where bumpy and they tried to do the metallic on one nail and it looked like crap the lady that did them said oh sorry hun it will look better next time you come in yeah I won't be back. This stay is so unfriendly I almost walked out. The owner is rude to his employees, talks down to them and undermines their work. You can tell who was new and who was not. The season employee was rude to customers and more worried about her makeup. The lady who did my pedi was nice and friendly, but cut my cuticles and were bleeding, now the following day their hurt like hell. All I got was are you ok? The cleaning was mediocre, they mopped the area by the spa chairs with a dirty wet mop. The wait is ridiculous for subpar service. I sat in the pedicure chair long enough for the water to go from hot to so cold o couldn't be in it without shivering. Once the staff finally got too me they were very rough and didn't ask what I preferred. The staff worked as quickly as possible and while they did an ok job I would rather pay more for good service. They got us in past minutes so that was great. Really friendly and great selection on different tips. The one thing is I have had nails done for a while and they have never hurt like they did this time. He burnt me with electric nail file a few times to where 2 of my nails still hurt. They charged me for gel nail Polish but I got regular nail Polish to where it is already chipping and they did not do a great job at that. My mom told me to come here. And I switched nail salons because of this place. If you call ahead for an appointment they'll get you in fast. They're extremely clean and do an amazing job. I love coming here. It is a little expensive but it's worth it. They also do nail art and they're really good at that. Read Less

Sky nails is were I go! You can spend a lot more other places but for the best service and products just go to sky. The New Skin pedi lasts the longest and I'm on my feet all day long. They are full service. Waxing, Nails, Pedi's etc. They even put my logo on my toes or any design I come up with. I have been going to Sky nails for years, even before they were in their current location. The whole group at sky are the best and they do whatever it takes to offer a great service. They offer great manis, pedis and even do waxing and other services. They also do a great job for my kids who also love to have a spa day at Sky Nails. They are fast and my nails always look great. I've never had a manicure at Sky, but I swear by them for pedi's. I'll go to Sky for a pedi before any high priced salon. They are relatively cheap and will go places with your feet that other's won't. By 'go places' I mean they really work hard on them and leave nothing behind. Calf massage, cuticle massage and clipping, wax, etc. I've never had to make an appointment or wait more than 2 mins to be seated. I got my last pedi there for 2009 xmas party and my glitter tips lasted clean through March. I will say their facility is NOT state of the art, but they have all the usual comforts, modern footbaths and massage seats. What more do you need, a red carpet? I moved to SLC from NYC and couldn't find a place that would give a good pedicure. Most places in SLC barely clean out your cuticles and dig in the sides. This place does a great job. They let me soak a long time and really scrub off the goop. I was surprised to read the other review. Look, there is so much wrong with this place I don't even know where to begin. The Customer Service is horrible, and I can live with that IF the product is decent-but they do nails so awful! One girl there, always talks on her phone while doing nails and once filed mine all the way down while chatting. They are overpriced for what they do-they should charge 4.00 (including tip). When they make mistakes in color of powder, they lie and say its because the ""model"" nail color has faded over time. Faded from tan to dark Purple? Whatever. They don't clean the building-it looks bad. They are rude, and the bottom line is that they should not be doing nails, my cat could do a better job then them. I am not even sure the licenses on the wall are real...maybe they printed them up themsleves somewhere. I also wouldn't be surprised if they used illegal products, considering everything else.
