I just moved to Waco and was overdue for a pedicure. I brought my mom here since we both had birthdays this week. David gave a great massage and our nails came out really nice. My mom is super picky and they were very patient and we never felt rushed. We had a great experience and the price was a plus! We definitely will be back. Read Less

I took my daughter and her friend yesterday 3/6/2018. My daughter and I both got full acrylic sets regular polish,$25 each. Her friend just wanted hers painted with gel polish, $30 said they did a manicure which I didn't ask for told them just to paint her nails with gel polish. My experience was terrifying! Had gel Polish on and they took a electric file all the way down to nail then polish over crack and broke nails! Nails were in layers by the electric file! I have not experience anything like that ! Other nail salons use electric file but not to the nail they use acetone on cotton and wrap in foil! My nails were fine till I went to solar nails! I went in for a fill and gel polish on Tuesday, by Wednesday the polish was peeling off. I went back on Thursday and the guy redid the polish, well its Sunday and as of this morning the polish peeled off my nails again...So not worth my 30 dollars plus a tip...smh Read Less

Recently, I came to Solar Nails for a gel manicure. They didn't disappoint to me. I arrived 10 minutes early, the staff smiled and gave me with a bottle of water. They were also extremely kind and attentive. My technician took her time and made sure my nails were perfect! ! Price is standard for this area. I absolutely love my manicure! I visited a few times for pedicures and they were decent for the cheap price. I had a friend in town who wanted to get her nails done, so I decided to try solar for a dip manicure. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. Do NOT get a dip manicure from here. The man that did mine had absolutely no idea what he was doing and that was very obvious from the fact that several other nail techs were watching him like a hawk. He dipped each of my nails in the acrylic powder more than 5 times which resulted in a huge bubble looking effect. Have you seen the YouTube videos where someone puts on 100 coats of nail polish? Yeah, that's what my nails looked like. To make it even worse, he pulled out a light that is specifically used for GEL nails. I knew something was up as I've had both gel and dip nails and know that the light isn't ever used for dip. When I showed my nails to the woman at the front desk, she had no response. I just wanna say I have been going Waco the time before and I love Solar Nails! They offer you beverages with your nail service. I go to there in each time with my close friend. I always get the milk and honey pedicure. It feels so good. The sweet grittiness exfoliates and then you get at least 20 min of foot and lower leg massage. Then I get a cute fill on my nails and I am ready to go. To top it off, they offer complimentary neck/shoulder massages. They have massage services that you can arrange do it. I feel that they have a good staff and many regulars that keep coming back to their favorite person. I refer all my friends Solar Nails. I feel you get what you pay for. customer service was great! the staff greeted me and informed me about every little detail, process was slow but at the end it was worth it bc it was just amazing! I got Dobie the young guy, he was delightful even though my palms were sweaty bc yes I have anxiety. well despite that he was amazing and he treated me well, the rest of the staff were funny :-) and Dobie deserves a race in his payment  (no I'm not saying that bc he's cute) but bc he was patient, kind and respectful. most people would be rushing and would be calling me out bc my palms were sweating like at B & Js nail salon. anyways Dobie was wonderful bc he was always respectful to both me and my mom, even after we'd make him walk and re-do our nails bc of one dumb move that'd we make. the front staff were absolutely nice and they'd offer us water and it was totally complimentary. Was so rushed. Fastest full set of my life and not in a good way. First he took off my old set with a acrylic nail which was very painful instead of soaking them. I even said ow many times. I didn't even notice till after that two of my nails are on crooked which is so annoying!!! He also didn't even smooth out my nails or buffer them. They are uneven bumpy and he didn't spread the acrylic pink powder to my cuticles so I walked out looking like I needed a fill. Then when he put gel over them they went into the holes and looks so tacky and uneven in color. My nails look awful and they are not very welcoming. Would never go back again. Went there last week for the first time and asked for matte black almond nails.  At first the guy who did my nails seemed nice but as soon as he was done he shoved me over to the drying station and didn't say a word.  I ended up smearing two of my nails and when I was finally able to get the owners attention he was able to fix it and was very pleasant.  I ended up sitting there for about 20 minutes without anyone checking on me and that is when I noticed that he didn't put the matte top coat on my whole nail which resulted it in being shiny by my cuticles and on the sides of my fingers.  As soon as I noticed that I let someone know that it wasn't done right and finally by tech decides to show up and ask what did I mess up. I tried to explain to him that my whole nail is supposed to be matte not just parts and he proceeded to argue with me and say that is how it is supposed to be, even a couple of people at the drying station with me commented on how rude he was . Once he 'fixed' it he left me at the dryer and that was the last I saw of him. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes and left and before I even pulled out of the parking lot my nails were smudged.  I ended up spending more money to buy matte top coat and black polish and fixing it myself. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had... The whole time I felt like I was an inconvenience and it felt very rushed and impersonal.  I wouldn't go back of you paid me!! Read Less

This place will never receive another dime from me. I used to go there weekly and get my nails done. The owner has let the $$$ take his brain over and it's very ghetto. I was in there one day, and one of the men offended a customer. He started talking rude to her and when she asked him to fix a nail, he got irritated. Accusing her of messing it up, instead of shutting his mouth and fixing it. The last 2 visits, I left with crooked nails and they even fell off before a week. This is by far the worst place I've been to in Waco. I got a mani pedi for $55 and it was awful from the moment I stepped out of the salon. My toe polish had bumps and smears in it and my nails weren't covered in gel polish. The gel manicure lasted a day before it started chipping. Also, this salon is pretty ghetto. Absolutely no complaints for this nail salon! Very clean, very friendly and professional, and a great selection of nail colors. I got the elegant pedicure which felt amazing on my legs. I absolutely love this place!  My daughter recently had an 18th Birthday Party and she invited several of her friends and family to get their nails done.We had so much fun!  Philip and all his staff were super friendly, and amazingly talented!Oh, and they have a new rewards program where you gain points towards future discounts.  We will definitely be back!
