I read a lot of reviews and so we went here but I regret it greatly. Awful service! When I was asked if I wanted a luxury pedicure and I said no I'll have the regular the lady laughed at me. She changed the sparkle I had picked out as well. She didn’t even put the sparkle all over my toe nail and you can see where the top coat is and the bottom coat is!! She didn’t even do anything other then remove the polish I had on and put on new polish! No scrub or anything! The gentlema...n cut my daughters toe nail too short and made her bleed. Then the lady filed off my gel nail completely that I had on and didn't even file the ends of my nail to even them out at all. She also got nail polish all over my hand! I asked for an eyebrow waxing as well and she messed my eyebrows up so badly and didn't even get all the hair off to shape them whatso ever! They are not even at all and I normally have a square shape and my right is not even at all! Then when she charged me $95 for our mani/pedis when I put a small tip for the horrible service we got she got very upset and was like what about our tip!? And I just walked out I couldn’t believe she wanted me to give her a larger tip for the horrible service! She ignored me the whole time and my gel nail polish is chipping already! Visited this salon last week for the first time since moving to the Waco area....I have to say I was very impressed with the service I received! I got my nails done with the dip powder and omg they looked amazing! I had them done previously and they were way too thick! Jasmine was my nail tech and she was super sweet and very professional! I'm not sure why City Nails has received so many bad reviews, because my experience was AWESOME! They did have a sign mentioning they were under new management so that could be a difference-maker. Anyway, my experience was incredible! I've been to many salons in Waco and none of them give the same quality of massage as city nails. To be frank, most salons will half-ass a pedicure massage but my experience at City Nails was completely the opposite - it was easily the best pedicure massage that I have ever received in my life outside of a 5-star spa. I will definitely go back because the deluxe pedicure was fantastic - she even massaged my hands and arms (an unexpected but welcome surprise). Great salon and polish job. Uncaring and unprofessional, If this review saves anybody form wasting their time at this hole in the wall then great! NO REFUNDS they say after receiving a LUMPY coat of cheap polish and misshaped filed nails. She took them off as soon as she got home and we are without having to say never going back. The people were fairly tempered though, so I hope they pull there heads out and start performing at a better level if they want to continue doing what they do. Read Less

I loved coming here during college!! Unfortunately I was underwhelmed at the quality of my nails upon visiting today and will visit different salons in the future during Waco visits. I tried to explain I needed the forming ingrowns on my toenails cut out, and neither the first tech, nor the one that took over did anything about it. The people here are nice, but the past two times I've come here, the polish on my pedicure looks HORRIBLE like it was done by a 2 year old. It also took forever to dry and smudged on multiple toes once I got home. A total waste of money and will not be returning. Read Less

I love this place! Immediately when you walk in someone is there to ask you what they can do for you. The place is clean and comfortable. It's definitely a relaxing environment and the patrons are even friendly. My boyfriend even likes the place because they make him feel comfortable when he comes with me to get out feet done. Came in as a walk-in and first impression was that the staff here could be a little friendlier. During my pedicure (which was very rough) it seemed as the male doing the service was agitated and subsequently cut my left toe. He immediately put glue to stop the bleeding and apologied. I took my mom to get our nails done before she had an interview, and they took us right away. The man that worked on me didn't push my cuticles back or cut my nails before hand. When he put on the acrylics you could see my real nail almost longer than my fake nail. He was very unhygienic because he would wipe his snot with his fingers and continue to work on my fingers. They were able to see me very quickly even though the salon was very crowded. I got a pedicure and gel nails. Unfortunately, my pedicure wasn't painted very well and my toenails were cut at an uneven angle. I asked them to fix it....and they did repaint my toes. It still didn't look right after correction. I had someone do my nails and they were clumpy so another person took over. Even after restarting with someone new, my gel polish has started to chip and it hasn't been more than three days. I don't like to leave negative reviews but you don't get your money's worth here. :( Read Less

I came here because the nail salon I typically go to was closed. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the experience! I opted for a pedicure and received a complimentary drink, leg and foot scrub, hot stone message, and parrafin wax for about $35. They're not too busy, so they get you in right away. Over priced I was not asked what I wanted as far as a pedicure goes. The person automatically started giving the the highest price service till I questioned her. I asked for the prices and what was included. She kept insisting on the highest price service. I told what I wanted and would not pay for anything more. She cut the side of my toe, when I pulled back from the pain she giggled saying what I understood to be "It's ok" I explained that she hurt me and I am a diabetic. I looked down and I was bleeding. I will never return to their establishment. I had been there before but because I moved from the area I had not been there in awhile. JJ is the one too see!!! He does an amazing job and doesn't make my nails too thick and "fake" looking! And they never break. And on top of it all, he's a Christian man that just loves doing nails and pleasing his clients! Most places you go, they get annoyed when you tell them exactly how you want your nails bc you know they aren't going to do it the way you like it. I went for a manicure and shellac polish. The only good thing I can say is that they have a wider selection of shellac colors than some of the other salons in town. But, the manicurist just pulled his tools out from under his desk and without being too graphic it was obvious the clipping tool was dirty. When I said, "Oh, is that not sterilized?" he rudely stood up and got some tools from a sealed pack in another room. He was curt through the rest of the manicure. When he messaged my arms, his hands were so rough my arms felt like they were being rubbed with sandpaper. And the message was rushed and rough. I was visiting from out of town and didn't know where the nearest salon was. Since I was shopping at Central Texas Market Place, someone told me that a lot of people come here. It started off great -- they were really nice and the price was right. The woman really took her time with my leg massage and a paraffin dip comes as part of the basic spa pedicure (great!!). Unfortunately, the woman I had did not do a great job on my no-chip manicure. It was thick and gloppy, and when she was finished I noticed a hair in one of my nails. She tried telling me it wasn't, but I made her turn on her light (maybe if she'd been using it she would have done a better job)!!  She tried to file it out, but it was in there good. I asked if she'd just soak it off and start over, and she seemed to be mad at me. She rushed through the redo and wouldn't let each coat cycle through the full 60 seconds, so who know how long this will last.  I don't ever have to worry about coming back here, but for you folks in Waco, buyer beware!!!Update:  I got to my hotel two hours later and my entire pedicure smudged...it never dried!!! I had to go somewhere else to get the polish redone and ended up spending an additional $15. I have to leave for my friend's wedding in 90 minutes and will barely have any time to get ready. Very disappointed in service.  I took my mom and daughter there for a mani/pedi before Baylor graduation - All three of us left grateful we have a different option for routine manicures.  Worst job ever on manicures - polish had scuffs by the next day- pedicure polish was sloppy and even though I asked my technician to file rounded nails rather than cut in order to keep my length - i walked out with un even lengths and nails that barely covered the tips of my fingers.  I cannot imagine this salon experiences much repeat business.  They appear indifferent to requests and all 3 technicians shared the attitude of not caring about their efforts. City Nails is the cleanest nail salon I have been to in the Waco area. The prices are the same as most salons ($35 for a mani/pedi), and they offer some facial waxing too, in addition to all the typical nail services. Included in your pedicure is a parrafin wax treatment. There's always something fun to watch on the flat screen tvs, and you are offered bottled water too! Peak hours seem to be after 3PM on weekdays, but there are many nail technicians working so the wait isn't too long during those times. Read Less
