Not only was I overcharged for a simple eyebrow waxing, but charged twice! And when I showed proof of being charged twice she told me to wait 24 hours and then come back to get a refund! I have never been charged over 8$ to get an eyebrow waxing, I was charged 10$ and not asked to tip, OVERCHARGED!!! Very unprofessional and not to mention the actual waxing job sucked balls, I had to ask her twice to fix it and still walked out looking like I had uneven eyebrows. I am giving this place one star, only because I want to make sure this review will post. I had my natural nails dipped and they made the thick and filed them ridiculously short. They rushed through the job and left power on my hands. I literally had to asked them if I could wash it off afterwards. The coating that they used on my nails cracked and I am going back for them repair it. I would go somewhere else, but it makes no since for me to pay all over again fort heir mistake. I called them and they were extremely rude. In addition, they were showing soft porn on the TV while I was getting my nails done. I was totally DISGUSTED & APPALLED! My niece and I just left here for our first visit. We had a great time. Honestly the best customer service I have ever had in a salon. Both techs and the woman working the front were so kind, especially to my young niece. They made her feel so special and she is over the moon. I will definitely be back anytime I need anything done. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I came in for a full set, and both over the phone and in person a man had told me a price that was different from when I went to pay. Not only that, I had to come in 5 days later for a refill on one nail that completely came off. Not very considerate towards me, and then made me pay an extra 3.00 to get it fixed? Exceptionally clean salon: that's of the utmost importance to me in nail salon. They also have one of the biggest selection of color choices for shellac that I've experienced in the area. The atmosphere is pretty. The prices aren't cheap, but they're not as unreasonable as salons inside the loop. If you live in the area, you should make it your place to go. Pretty sure I'm considered "picky" but I tip well and I am not bossy or bitchy like I've seen some other customers! I actually watched one older woman come in recently and tell her technician how to do her job! The technician was explaining very politely that she had to use a power file to remove some of the old shellac, and the woman was very rudely and condescendingly telling her how her other "girl" did it. I wonder how it worked out for her....As for me, I like the staff. All seem to be clean, polite, and professional.  I've been to salons where the smell of the food they were cooking, or had just eaten, repulsed me. Or, like a place down the street where the loud females who work there are yelling across the room at each other.  I like to relax when I'm being groomed. This salon, now called NK, is usually quiet and serene. I usually go for the full service top of the line services because it's worth it to me. My shellac fingernails last me 2+ weeks and I'm hard on my hands! My pedicures last even longer when I can't get into the salon as much as I'd like.  I have not had to wait more than a few minutes even on the weekends, but even if I had to, I would, because why bother and stress out with more driving around when just be patient and you'll be taken care of at your turn! I've been here a few times now and had a pretty good experience each time. I'm going to itemize my thoughts as pros and cons. Pros: Conveniently located (in the same shopping center as Made Ya Smile Dental and CVS at Kuykendal and 1488) Fairly pricedVERY clean Lots of colors and services to choose from Cons:On weekends they can get VERY busy. They may tell you a 10 minute wait, but I've had a 10 minute wait turn into a 40 minute wait. If you're going on a weekend, make an appointment. They do good work, but not omg out of this world stellar work. Obviously the pros outweigh the cons. It's a convenient, clean, fairly priced nail salon. For this reason, I certainly recommend it.
