DO NOT GO TO ELEGANT NAILS AND BAR!!!!! THE NAIL TECHS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE SERVICE IS LESS THAN SATISFACTORY!!!! Pressed for time, I decided to go to Elegant Nails & Bar (410 W Southlake Blvd. Southlake, TX 76092)  before heading to my other appointment and then immediately going out of town. I requested for dipped coffin nails since I had a long memorial weekend ahead of me with 2 graduations and 1 wedding.  As the nail tech added powder on my set, she told me her doctor recommended that she step away from nails as it seems to cause a detriment to her health. After asking what happen she told me Elegant Nails & Bar recently switched to a new powder which caused her and another tech to have a bad reaction. I asked, what kind of reaction and is this powder safe for customers? She told me, the other techs eye is swollen shut and has been out of work for a couple of days now. The nail tech told me her esophagus was close to closing up and she had to be rushed to the ER. After several test the doctors determined the tech was allergic to something in the powder and suggested the tech stop working around nails or have the company get rid of the powder. The tech told me she believes the powder is safe for customers as they don't inhale these harsh chemicals all the time. Aside from the powder, I noticed the tech had trouble putting my nails on properly. There were several nails I had the tech remove due to the nails being crooked. Considering I had an appointment right after my nail appointment I couldn't keep delaying the process, so I ended up leaving unhappy with nails that looked NOTHING like coffin nails.  About 30 minutes to an hour, I started itching but I brushed it off. After I returned from my weekend functions my shoulder, chest and side was covered in a skin rash of itchy blisters. Immediately, I returned to the salon to have the nails soaked off.  I demanded a refund but the owner advised she couldn't give me one and suggested it must have been something i ate or medication I recently taken( as she looks on to her frequent customers for backing of her accusation). At least I'm not charging you for your soak off (Shocked from the owners response). I responded excuse me, I am a vegan who takes a holistic approach to my health and I've never had a break out like this. I told her that her accusations were false and it's a sad attempt to discard something being wrong with her products. She said no one has broken out in 10 years. I told her that I found her claim to be completely false especially since she had two nail techs break out due to the new powder change. She asked, who told you that? I told her the tech who worked on my nails. The owner then says, I don't know why she felt so comfortable telling you that. That's why she no longer works her because she doesn't know what she is doing. I responded by saying, well thanks for not even trying to dismiss the fact that there is an issue with your powdered. I also think it's crazy you have non experienced techs practicing on your customers and that says a lot about your business. That explains why my coffin nails looked nothing like coffin nails. They are pretty rude. They are always short handed and if you don't call ahead, they turn you away. If you show up on a Monday at 2:00, you're probably good. I'm surprised they are able to stay in business at their prime location, given their lack of customer service. Read Less

so I decided to get my first pair of cat claws ever. Which let me just say I'm inlove even though I'll probably not do it again they are SUPER cute. I would just like to warn people that their service and how they treat their customers is poo. First of all the lady kept commenting to my friend about how stiff I am and was beginning to sound irritated and just started to have a rude tone with me. Later I kept talking to my friend and another employee made a joke and asked if my friend and I were " gay " which mostly pissed me off because who cares if I were gay and why would that be a funny joke? Just really rude. They also told me it would be $35 to do my nails. When I got in there it changed to $45 but I was suppose to get a $5 off for the student discount. The lady seemed to be so irritated with me and how long it took to do my nails that she added back another $5 to the bill which was honestly bullshit in my opinion. So I ended up paying $50. Today was my first time to go to Elegant Nails bar.  The people were very friendly.  The owner (Lee)  was very nice and involved with the customers.  He recommended that I try the dip nails because they are better for you than the solar nails and require less drilling since I like to change colors each time so I decided to try them.  He soaked off my old set which ended up being the best nail removal I've ever had,  no pain whatsoever!!  He and another lady did my nails with the dipping powder and they look great... The pedicure I received was great. However, if you want nails that are the same length and shape on all 10 fingers I suggest going elsewhere. First of all, they switched the person who was doing my nextgen set half way through so my nails were shaped by two different people and therefore they look dramatically different. Also, I asked the man doing my nails to file down one hand's nails because they were way longer than the other hand and he ended up making the one side shorter than the other... also my nail polish bubbled and chipped right after leaving because my nails weren't dry and they told me they were. I paid 80 dollars to have my nails look very amateur, I could have done them better myself honestly :/ I wanted to like this place because the staff was friendly but they just aren't very good at their job. I've been to a bunch of nail salons in Southlake and discovered this place.  I will never go back anywhere else!  They do not use harsh chemicals like all other nail salons do.  They use all natural techniques to remove callouses and help prevent them from coming back.  They also sell Epoch products and these products have kept my callouses from coming back!  The staff is all very friendly and welcoming.  Many other salons are rude and pushy.  The salon is also very clean and nicely designed.  All Southlake ladies need to give this place a try!
