Though the atmosphere of the spa is inviting, the wait time, end result, and cost of treatments left much to be desired. My husband and I booked manicure and pedicure services for 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The spa, though understaffed, requires guests arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment time. We, however, had to wait 15 minutes past scheduled time, with no refreshments offered (throughout entire 3 hours we had spent in not most comfortable of seats, while the same nail technician rotated between two stations). This would have been easier to deal with had the result been satisfying. Being charged a $100/person we both ended up with some unremoved cuticles. After leaving the spa, which was closing as we were cashing out, I had bubbled up polish on finger/toenails (the spa uses a product that is intended to 'dry polished nails in 20min after application'). Additionally, the polish on my toes was uneven - difference between number of coats on the same nail apparent. It was our last day on the Island so we could not go back the next day to fix all mentioned above. I would recommend the management to review treatment rates and plan for appropriate number of staff members to accommodate future clients of Sapphire Spa. Read Less

This place was phenomenal! My husband and I did the couple massage then had a 20 minute soak in the infinity tub.  Customer service could not have been better.  I had a very respectful gentleman that made me feel comfortable the whole time.  The massage was deep tissue and he asked to make sure he wasn't hurting me with the pressure.  My husband had a female who also did very well.  After the massages we were offered wine or mimosas and were able to soak in an aroma therapy tub together in private.  Very romantic and relaxing place that is worth every penny!! Massage was really good. I think they are laking extra amenities that other spas have and you can spend more time and not just go to get a treatment. That is why a can not give them 5 stars.  If i was ratting my massage i would give them  five stars Read Less

A group of 5 gals made appointments for massages.  2 of the 5 of us were disappointed.  I expected a lot more class and style for the prices.  It didn't start off well when went early to sit in the private hot tub only to find it COLD!!!  On the flip side the other 3 had very good massages.  Guess it's a crap shot. Best experience ever at the spa! My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage and private aromatherapy session in an infinity tub....on Valentine's Day which was perfect! Was unhappy with initial deep tissue massage; the manager offer a "redo". BEST EVER! My first impression was bad but manager, Jody, corrected my experience. Really appreciate the focus of customer service. The spa its self is nice and relaxing pretty customary when it comes to spas on the beach. The deep tissue by Jessica was great. It has been about 2 months since my first visit to this spa. When I went, I received the best customer service and an amazing massage and facial. Can you say pampered ? I went for a custom massage in the morning. Lead to the changing room and the went to the sitting room to wait. Such a great ambiance. The massage was so heavenly I didn't want it to end. After I sat in an outdoor hot tub to relax. The steam shower was wonderful once the water was warm. The bath products were exquisite and relaxing. I booked massage with my daughter who needed a good deep tissue massage. Never visited this spa before but have been to spas all over the world and will have to say this is one of the worse ones. The massage therapist never offered scented oils for massage and had very calloused hands. The spa itself had no lotions and terrible paper towels. More like toilet paper, the shower area was confusing... Large space tiny shower heads and strange design for getting inOverall very disappointed, for over $300 I expected more. Worst manicure & pedicure I've ever received!! Not even worth the 1 star!! I booked a spa package while I was staying at The Pearl for my friend's wedding. The massage was ok, I enjoyed it! Then came time for my mani & pedi...the nail tech cut me several times trying to remove my cuticles. The first time she put way too many coats on so it looked horrible and smeared so bad. They agreed to redo it so I said ok. The second time was no better!! My fingers were hurting from being cut. The pedicure was just not good, I've never received a pedicure that didn't last more than 2 days!! The nail tech also cut the bottom of my foot with the foot file (still hasn't healed). Also instead of pushing my cuticles back she cut them and the area around my nails where the cuticles were is inflamed!!  My polish was not applied evenly and looked like she was in a hurry! My 3 year old daughter also got a mani and pedi and I don't know what base and top coat they use but it ended up coming off in the pool 2 hours later, it was like a mask just peeled off on its own. When I called asking for a refund I was told no because they claimed they offered to redo the mani and pedi. It would have been their 3rd try and I had a wedding to attend and to get back home to ATX! Trust me save your money and go to a real spa!! Read Less

I got my hair and makeup done at Sapphire Spa for my wedding, and was delighted to find out that it was downstairs from The Pearl Hotel - our hotel and venue. This made for a very hassle and stress free day. I did trial runs at Dillard's makeup counter & Visible changes in my local mall, so I went in with pictures of what I wanted. The atmosphere gets five out of five stars - the music was really relaxing on the day of and exactly what I needed. The staff was lovely - I had made an appointment for my sister but they didn't write it down (!?). One of the girls, knowing it was my wedding day, quickly and quietly dropped everything she was doing to accommodate her. My sister didn't know what she wanted & gave semi-vague instructions about what she wanted. When I perceived she was unhappy with it, her hairdresser completely took it down, washed her hair and started over happily without any issues. My hair was gorgeous - not exactly what I showed in the picture, but close. However, it wasn't secured as tightly as it should have been, so a few bits and pieces did fall down a bit throughout the night. My makeup was airbrushed - which did last all day long (I got my makeup done at noon and didn't have my wedding until 5). Overall, my appointment was three hours long - I enjoyed all of it, found it to be very relaxing on the day. The price was about what I found in the mall - and the makeup was about half the cost of what was in my hometown. Overall, I was very happy with what I received and its convenience - the one thing I would have improved would have been that none of my hair would have fallen down. It didn't destroy the look and no one noticed it, but it would have been nice not to have to mess with that minor detail. Read Less

I went to the SapphireSpa on a whim after a long boat ride. I wanted to do something special for myself during my trip to South Padre Island. I was pleasantly surprised with the Sapphire Spa. The spa is clean, the staff is friendly and the price is well worth the amenities offered. I chose the Signature Sapphire Massage with Tiger Striped Clam Shells from the Philippine Islands. The massage was relaxing, warming, and probably one of the best massages I have ever had. I plan to come back on my next visit and try another service at SapphireSpa. Read Less
