I went in on June 27. And this new guy did my nails. Because Tran said John was no longer able to do my nails. John is the best tech that is there. He takes his time and do your nails right. And is well worth the tip and more. She don't like African American women who ask for John to do their nails because she think that they are trying to date him. He is the best at what he do. I have to say, I've never been more disappointed getting my nails done. My mother and I went into Lovely Nails today to get our nails done before my college graduation tomorrow, expecting a nice mother daughter relaxing mani and pedi session. Unfortunately, they were slightly busy, so we were ushered to the pedicure chairs, where we sat waiting for about 15 minutes, at which time they filled the foot baths for us to soak. While soaking your feet for a few minutes relaxing before your actual pedicure begins, you know it has been too long when the water goes cold. It was aproximately 40 minutes until someone approached either of us again, and began my mothers pedicure while I continued to wait with feet in rapidly chilling water.As soon as my mother's pedicure was finished, the technition waiting on her left to take an appointment, and the lady who finally started on mine, rushed through it and immediately left to go pick up her child, while we waited another 40 minutes to be seen for our manicures, as people recieving a single service (manicure or pedicure) were ushered before us. After having been their now a total of 1 hr and 35 minutes, My mother's manicure was started, and I waited for the technition to finish hers and do mine as well, another 20 minutes. It took us a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes to have a manicure and pedicure done, however that wasn't even the worst part. The lady doing our manicures was extremely rough, and even after I had said "ouch" 3 times, due to her roughness, she managed to cut me while trimming my cuticles. Last time I checked, Manicures were meant to be a treat, not torture. On top of the dangers presented by being cut in a nail salon, the cut is very noticible and ruins the desired effect of the manicure.At this point, my mother went to pay, and told the manager that she was extremely disappointed with their service today. Not only was the manager cool and unsympathetic to my mother, she actually blamed her saying she should make an appointment next time to avoid the wait.Although I have been a loyal Lovely Nails customer for about 8 years, I can honestly say this was my last visit to Lovely Nails, and my Mother and I will be finding a new nail salon asap.
