I have tried a lot of different salons in San Marcos over the years but no one can compete with this place. They have a HUGE variety of shellac colors, always super fast (but they don’t compromise on quality) and do an amazing job every time. They even offer refreshments while you are there. I went here for a gel manicure. Service was fast, just not quality. They rushed because they had a lot of customers and not a lot of staff. Extremely overpriced I have been going here consistently lately and every time I go I noticed they make up some ridiculous price, I paid $40 for a new set of nails and go back for a fill today and was told the fill is $35 which is ridiculous especially because your only doing a small portion of the work and I waited 15-20 mins to here this bs and they were rude about it DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ! The staff was inviting and friendly. The salon was clean and well attwned to. The pedicurist really knew what he was doing. The massage with the spa pedicure was super relaxing. Worst service I've ever received at a nail salon. Ive gotten my nails done twice a month for the past 2 years or so and this is by far the worst. I live close by so I thought I'd give them a try and that's where I messed up. The guy was squeezing my fingers super hard, i told him and then he proceeded to squeeze them the same. They offer complimentary sodas so I asked for one, and he made my friend get it while there were other workers on their phone doing nothing. Never again will I go there. I want to start out by saying my nail tech (male, unsure of name) did a good job with a thin French shellac mani. The end result was pretty good, but I felt off as soon as I walked into the salon. It didn't strike me as a very clean place, which I should have taken as a sign. The woman who greeted me was friendly, but my nail tech was extremely quiet/not friendly at all. I don't think he understood English, I mentioned I didn't want one nail's cuticles pushed back because I had a cut, he nodded and looked puzzled but then did it anyways and it was horribly painful. A prep oil was used on my nails and the top of the bottle was crusted and disgusting, and it had an awful smell, like it had gone bad. I cringe even now thinking about how old that oil must be... My last complaint would be the massage. Extremely rough, first time I couldn't wait for a massage to be over. He also pulled my fingers and popped them, including one I said was broken and didn't want to be pulled. Again, super painful. My husband and I stopped in so I could get fills and he could get a pedicure. They all were currently working on someone but said they could take us right away. They started a pedicure bath for my husband and had him start soaking. He sat there soaking for quite some time while they finished up there current customers. (I think that is their way of "trapping" you until they are ready to perform your service.)I was finally sat to get my fills. The owner was the one who performed my service. He was incredibly rough and rushed the service. He constantly stood up to answer questions from a group of girls that walked in asking for pedicures. I'm new to San Marcos and I haven't found a nail place, and coworker told me about a place close to my apartments so I decided to check it out and I have to say is that I would not recommend this place at all. The main manicurist or only one there I guess fucking made all my fingers bleed! You'd think after seeing the blood on my fingertips he would be gentle with me THINK AGAIN! It was a NIGHTMARE, because I would flinch every time and it he kept going rough! I was like maybe the pain will be worth it. NOPE my nails look like shit. He offered me a margarita in the beginning and I was like sure he took for EVER to give it to me and when he did it was just water. Oh. My. Lord.  Terrible experience from start to finish! A friend and I came here for pedis at 4pm on a Friday. Walk in, gals getting nails done, no other customers. She starts water for both of us, and starts my pedi w/o even letting my feet soak. Hm. Odd. She aggressively tears at my cuticles and sides of my toes with the cuticle nipper and proceeds to make both feet bleed while I'm telling her she is hurting me. Meanwhile, my friend just sits w/feet in water. After the toe torture, she glides the pumice over my heels so gingerly that my heels are still as rough as when I entered. Meanwhile, my friend sits. The only good part was the salt scrub, that was great. Then she slapped some hella thick lotion in me and put in scorching hot towels. They are never hot like the depths of hell at any other salon I've been to! Meanwhile, friend still sitting!!!! 40 minutes in, we inquire if someone is going to do her feet! Guy says, "15 minutes". Um, WHAT?! Shebegan removing her feet from the water and stated, "I've been here 40 minutes, not waiting longer". Guy, in a huff, puts gloves on and starts zipping through her pedi. He nips her a few times, files her nails and skin with a dunking block and still angrily proceeds through the pedi. Gal does my toes and scuffs them on my flips, thankful, I don't love these shoes because there is orange polish all of them now! She needs to learn to paint in the lines! Nothing about this place was good. I could tell right when I walked in, that it wasn't going to be great. The staff wasn't friendly, it smelled like fish, and I got charged extra for my pedicure because I had shellac on previously. This place SUCKS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! Don't even get near this place. They are extremely rude and don't care about customer service at all. The guy hurt me somehow over 5 times and then when he was using a tool he was like "RELAX YOUR HAND!!!! Is there something wrong? Watch Tv and relax." The guy running the show that just had the baby should lose his job based off of customer service alone. We pay good money to doll ourselves up as women. If I have question , or am unclear about something it is in your line of business to politely make sure we are on the same page. I've been here a few times and Bailey is amazing! If you get anyone else though, your nails will come out horribly. I have gotten 3 pedicures here with several different friends and we have all said they were PAINFUL. The most painful pedicure I have ever gotten (and I don't have crusty or nasty feet either)!!! This lady ripped my solar nails off with another fake nail...it was the most painful experience. When I would pull my hand away she would hold on tighter and laugh. Then proceeded to tell me how weak my nails are...well anyone's nails would be paper thin if someone is physically yanking the nails off. While sitting through this painful process the girl next to me was very upset with how her nails turned out and asked to leave the owner lady who is pregnant began yelling at her and pushing her and then picked up nail clippers and started clipping at the girls fingers till she finally caught a nail and cut it off. I really should've read the reviews before coming here. Apparently I interrupted the nail tech's smoke break, because he was in a rush and fidgeting the entire time. There were no other customers, yet he was attacking my fingers as if he had to get through me really quickly. When the nail polish was applied, it looked really thick and when I asked for a redo on a couple of nails, I got an eye roll and an exasperated "WHAT do you want me to do?". When he redid the nails, there were STILL air pockets and fibers coming out of the nail, PLUS my nails were flooded with paint and there was still acrylic residue around my cuticles. I agree with the reviews and won't be back. The first time I came, they took off my gel polish with only an Emory board (instead of the usual cotton +acetone + foil). It made my nails so thin it was painful when I got new polish on and put my fingers in the solar hand units to set the gel. The lady had no idea why it hurt and made me keep doing it. I looked it up later and found that most manicurists are aware of this and know how to avoid it.I gave them another chance, mostly because the salon is very close. I asked specifically that they use the foil to remove the polish, but they didn't let it sit on -- which seems lazy because it's not like the manicurist was pressed for time with no other customers in the salon. When the foil came off, of course it hadn't had the time to take off much polish, and again the Emory board made my nails really thin and brittle. What's more is that I had to ask 3 times that the manicurist be careful because she'd scrape my cuticles hard with the board because she was watching TV. I literally yelped in pain, pulled my hand away, and she told me (pretty condescendingly) that I was sensitive. I've been getting my nails done for 10 years without ever having this problem.Long story short: go to Bobcat Nail & Spa. It's way better than this place and close to campus. Read Less

I don't know about how they do their nails, but if you do go here DO NOT GET ANY WAXING DONE HERE Doing my eyebrows are relatively easy. My eyebrows are tattooed, so all you have to do is wax the bits outside the tattoo and you're good. I even told her to just go along my tattoos. When she missed an area underneath my arch and told her to do it again. She didn't wax any of hair I wanted off...However, she managed to get wax skin off instead and now I have two scabs underneath my arches now. Afterwards, I made the mistake of asking to get my sideburns waxed as well. I'm pretty sure if she didn't know what sideburns were. When I asked her to do it, she had to ask another guy working here something and then she waxed me without waxing off my sideburns??!? I realized I wasn't going to get what I wanted done here so I left with messy eyebrows and sideburns which was the opposite of what I came there for. Read Less

The worst service I have experienced in a long while. I had a schedule, and was mislead about the wait time. Not one person spoke to me. I was told "5min"- it was 35min. Due to the lengthy wait time, I had to scrap two services and cut down the pedicure to a "color change". I was charged the full amount of a $40 pedicure. pedicure & manicure look fine but MY FEET ARE KILLING ME! I'm currently icing them because he scrubbed them raw, they're so red & it burns!! FIND ANOTHER NAIL SALON! I went in to get ONE nail fixed and it was horrible. There was no one else in the salon and she rushed to get it done. In the end it was smudged and crooked. UNSANITARY, DONT GO HERE! If 0 stars was an option, that's what I would give. 1. I would rather be told that you're busy than seat me in a COLD water tub for 20 minutes. 2. While waiting, one of the employees came to my tub while he was working on another customer, and stuck the cuticle tool he was using on that customer IN MY TUB!!! I had no idea why!! I asked for a towel, got up and left. Absolutely discussing. I don't think the other customer even noticed! Needless to say, I won't be going back.
