Not happy at all. I booked several weeks in advance for a blowout for an important filmed event. The appointment was on Sunday evening as my event was Monday morning. I had a confirmation on Thursday before and again on Saturday afternoon. They contacted about 4 hours before my appointment on Sunday and cancelled saying the stylist they reserved for me was no longer available. There is more than one stylist there but they couldn't get one to come in and that was that. I asked if they could get someone early the next morning but they couldn't accommodate the time I wanted. If they had let me know they couldn't accommodate on Saturday I would have had a much easier time finding someone somewhere else. I will never return to this establishment. Not impressed. And since I was taking about the crappy experience I had, I also heard that their makeup artist screwed over someone else I know who needed it for a special appearance. Juan is a great color specialist! He always understands exactly my hairstyle ideas, and knows how to integrate his own ideas to my style. He is very meticulous and you can tell that he truly enjoys what he does! He's trendy, innovative, but he's equally good at doing more traditional styles. I hate writing this, but I had such a bad experience here and after reaching out to the studio about my concerns and never hearing back, I feel like I owe it to other brides-to-be to share my experience. I scheduled a one-on-one makeup training with a makeup artist a few weeks before my wedding in November. The appointment started 30 minutes late and ran 45 minutes over, so that was just an inconvenience but not enough for a bad review by any means. I went in for the $350 appointment and was clear in booking the appointment that I wanted a review of bridal style makeup, tailored to my own minimalist, outdoor, daytime wedding plans. The stylist was quiet and sweet, but I'm not sure she heard anything I was saying or any of my requests. Rather than tailoring or suggesting colors, which I figured would be the bare minimum of the costly training, she suggested repeatedly that I ask for color recommendations at the MAC counter. The foundation was thick to start. She also gave me thick black eyeliner and dark eye shadow. I am super pale and blonde, so this was heavy in general but it was also not at all what I requested. When she realized it was at the two hour mark, she quickly applied a bright pink lipstick. At that point I was so tired of requesting softer, more minimalist makeup that I just left as quickly as possible. I definitely looked gaudy and ready for a night in a really dark dive bar, but not at all natural and ready to get married outside in the sun. I have rarely been that uncomfortable in my own skin.It was heartbreaking to spend that much money and to walk out with so much disappointment, especially just before my wedding. Aside from general poor standards of customer service, my session here was in no way tailored to my features or requests, so if that's what you're expecting for a one-on-one, I'd keep searching. I’ve been trying to get a specific hair color (gray) for two years and this is the first time someone’s got it right. I’ve never had someone try so hard on my hair. I highly recommend Juan for color and cut. I'm so happy with my hair. No one has ever been able to color my hair this way. I had a lovely experience here. The stylists are all so friendly, and the space is relaxing and inviting. My only complaint is that my hair turned out very different than I imagined it, even bringing photos for reference. I booked for a partial balayage, hoping for some subtle enhancements to my dark hair and ended up with a very golden head of hair, with color starting almost at the roots. I had such a great experience at this salon. My stylist Tori was A W E S O M E!! It was like she could read my mind, not joking. I had "shopped around" calling other salons asking if they could do a dry cut and shampoo after and lots of places said "it could not be done, that it was rare a salon ever did that.." this was not true, I've had it done before due to my curly/wavy hair. My first review of the salon was for five stars. Alicia did a great job and gave me what I was looking for while trying out a new style haircut. My second time returning I was with a new stylist. She was super nice and we had great conversations. However, once I was home and able to play with and see my hair close up- I immediately noticed some major mistakes. 1.) I still have terrible roots, and the whole point of going to the salon (for me) is to have my roots done 2.) there are sections of MAJOR brass/orange (which has slowly gotten worse - a problem I've never had before) 3.) my cut was not what I had asked for and super uneven All in all, the owner tried scheduling me in to have the corrections made, but apparently the task of scheduling me in "slipped through the cracks" even though I reached out 3 separate times to try and schedule- and now, I'll be leaving on vacation (photo shoot involved) with atrocious hair. This salon is amazing! I cannot express how much I love this shop. I had been wanting to go there for a while because I would notice someone working late evenings and every time I drove by at night it just looked beautiful thru the windows and I thought that it was a must to stop by one day and schedule an appt for my hair. Since then I have seen Ariana on many occasions and the transformation she did on my hair from the first time I saw her has improved so much. When I walked in my color was ehhh and my hair texture was not so much ok but she brought my hair back to life lol! Currently my hair is turquoise and it has changed from purple to whatever else we decide on and the way it fades is amazing that I get so many compliments. I wouldn't go to any other salon ever just because I trust her completely with my hair and she just always helps me achieve something amazing. Alicia is the owner and she is super nice and cool she's always working on a client when I see her and I know from what I've seen her work is amazing as well and he makeup is always on point I have to schedule a makeup class yet but maybe after the holidays I will. I also get my facials and my waxwings done here by Veronica. Veronica is super sweet and cool too and she literally is my brow expert. I wouldn't go to anyone else because she literally makes my eyebrows perfect as you see in the pics. Her facials are sooooo relaxing and there just amazing, you can ask her what she recommends and she'll help you achieve that nice skin. Her makeup is always on point too and I am dying to book an eye make up class with her.
