I came here expecting an awesome mani/pedi from the reviews. But instead I got a fungal infection on three of my toenails from this place. Never in all my life have I gotten an infection from a pedicure. The nail tech I had rushed through my pedicure and then took her time on her phone before she started on my hands. My gel polish lasted for maybe 3 or 4 days before all of my nails started lifting and peeling off. All except for one, that actually stayed on. I took my mom here to treat her for a late Mother's Day present. She had a pedicure from Jenny that she enjoyed. However, my manicure with Crystal was terrible. My nails were trimmed at different lengths, and some of the sides of my nails weren't evenly filed on each side. There are still patches from the gel polish that my nail tech was supposed to take off, on my nails. I was only given one thin coat of polish that I can still feel the lines of the nail filing machine on my nails. It's alright, for what it is. I've been here on several occasions, mainly for waxing. My most recent visit was for a nail appointment I set up over the phone the day prior. Took quite a bit of time for them to begin, was swapped around some, was apologized to for the wait. I had requested SNS nails over the phone, but was advised that my nails were 'not in a proper condition' for SNS (I have weak, soft nails and a small bed, so I was hoping to get them covered for work, but with a relatively healthy alternative). At first, I was open to the suggestions, with the person I was working with claiming a Solar fade manicure would be better for me. However, the more suggestions were made against my initial requests, the unhappier I became. I'm a shy person who doesn't wanna get into conflict, though, and considering my schedule was super busy that day, I didn't mind keeping my dissatisfaction quiet. ((Stayed pretty polite and cheerful, even as my skin and cuticles were cut in places more than once. Very surprising and distressing.)) I think my frustration hit its peak when I requested an oval shape for the nails, which I was suggested to change to a coffin or square shape twice before I pleaded politely that I needed them to be rounded for work. The person I worked with seemed a little annoyed that I didn't happen to accept every one of my preferences being changed on me. I find it kind of strange that I was also told, "See, you listen to me," when this is one of many businesses where the client should be the one to decide what they want. Again, I'm open to suggestions, but even after two days with the nails I've had done, I wanted them off. Shape of the nails was pretty alright, I went home and filed them a little more to my liking. They are my go to. I love me some Kelly and she does the hell out of some nails! Sandy is on her top of her game and she is part of the game plan!!! Babe loves her. Tammy did my nails this time... she's great, but 38 minutes out of 45 her attitude was sour AF. Those last 7 minutes she was really pleasant. Basically customer service could use some work, but the quality is superb! CS is a common complaint, I've noticed. However Sandy and Kelly are great, friendly, warm, welcoming and do an awesome job. I have gotten my nails done here regularly over the past year and they are the only place I go now! On the weekends they are very busy, and even with a reservation, you may still have to wait a little, simply because every single chair is full! But they are well worth the wait, because every manicure/pedicure I have ever gotten from any technician at Bamboo has been top notch! The drinks are complimentary, the place is very clean, the prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the color selection is great as well! I’ve visited this place on 4 separate occasions. Sometimes it’s busy and when you make reservations it doesn’t really mean anything. You will more than likely have to wait past that time (if they’re busy or if it’s the weekend). The first time was “okay”, second time was better, third time pedicure was weak but manicure was beautiful, fourth time Mani and Pedi was ON POINT! Just like most nail salon there’s good and bad ones. I would say find the one that’ll do your nails the way you like, figure out their schedule, and stick with them. I like Susan and Katie. Not Impressed. Didn't get what I asked for. The salon is pretty clean, and extremely busy. They charge a bit more than neighboring salons. They took over an hour to finally start my manicure. The woman doing my manicure was talking on the phone and looking around frequently while doing my nails. She made me bleed twice during the manicure. Maybe if she had been paying better attention, she wouldn't have made me bleed.I had a different woman for my pedicure. She was also looking around frequently while doing my pedicure. I had to ask her to properly shape my toe nails. She also messed up my toe nail art and I had to ask her to fix it.I has to ask someone to get the polish off the skin around fingernails. I have been coming here for a few months and I will never go anywhere else. Staff is friendly and extremely creative! I have yet to bring in a picture of a design that they have said no to. Overall I'm really happy with the service I received at Bamboo! I got a full set of SNS and I absolutely love the color - they have a TON of colors to choose from. I have a really bad picking and biting habit (as you can see from my pictures) and Tammy never caused any pain to my existing wounds/cuts. She was very gentle and professional. The reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because I was charged an extra $5 for my cuticles to be cleaned up. I'm from the west coast where this is usually included in any nail treatment so I'm not sure if that's the norm here, but something to keep in mind. I would recommend Tammy but do keep in mind that she is a manager so she is on the phone and attending to other walk in customers at the same time. Again, this didn't bother me because I wasn't in a rush and I'm not a chatty customer but if you are probably best to get another technician. I would say this probably not a great place to come if you're wanting somewhere relaxing because I went on a Saturday and it was packed! I've never seen a salon so full before, which is not a bad thing and I didn't mind but something to keep in mind if you are wanting a quiet atmosphere. I made an appointment for 10:30am Saturday (1/27/18) Michelle was my nail tech and I was there almost two hours. She kept getting up and directing clients to the techs, answering the phone, cashing out clients and whatever else the workers needed. I was looking at my nails at work today and they look like I had them done over two weeks ago. I called today and Tammy answered. She said come in. I went in and showed her my nails and Tammy was extremely rude and doesn’t have good... customer service. She kept saying “ I don’t see anything wrong with your nails.” Um, I do and so could my co-workers. I told her I’ve had my nails done like this before and have never had this problem. Tammy said “I’ve been doing nails for a long time.” Tammy walked away as I was still talking to her to go get nail polish. I asked her what time Michelle would be in and from behind a chair she yelled her answer and that was the end of our conversation as she was talking to someone else. Great nail salon!! Ask for Susan. She is so sweet and her massages rock. They are VERY busy all the time. I recommend calling to make an appointment. The deluxe pedicure offers a scrub and paraffin wax that makes your feet feel amazing and smooth. Went in for gel nails on Dec 16th and the nails peeled off in ten days. Called the salon and they asked to come in. I went today in they refused to fix it because it was 12 days and they ask for nails to be fixed in 15.In the past I have always has gel nails last atleast 2-3 weeks.Due to a social event tonight, I had to get them fixed here. But today Lisa completely raised the bar with her gel mani pedi, complete with amazing massages along the way! She was a perfectionist about cleaning my cuticles and painting perfectly! I do not live in the area anymore, but visit my mom often and we come here just about every time I am in town. Today in particular was pretty awesome because I was having a bit of a rough day, but Hannah totally took care of me! We were immediately seated with drink in hand, and I had just had my toes done before the visit, but I still wanted to spoil myself here because I love this place that much, so I got a gel mani and partial pedi (just massage and wax)...that's how good... it is here! This was my second time visiting Bamboo, and after reading reviews I decided to request Hanna! Wow, I am so happy that I did! I could not have picked a better person to do my nails. We had reservations for a group of 5 of us for a Friday afternoon.  We walked in and the place was PACKED (so definitely make reservations!!). Had a mani and pedi by Lisa. She was very kind and friendly. Immediately offered me a beverage (margarita). I picked the deluxe mani and pedi. It was so relaxing, she took her time. One of the worst experiences i have ever had at any nail salon. One of the managers did my nails and was more attentive to arriving customers and operations than a client that was paying good money for there service. Not only are multiple cuticles cut/ nicked , but she filed my finger so much that a scab was left. I love this nail salon. I recently moved from NC and was in need of a great nail tech. Then I met Katie! She is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. She convinced me to get colored powder gel and I swear it was the best decision ever .The salon it's self is very inviting. All the employees are really friendly and helpful. I love that they play 90s RnB.Every time have have been to the salon it is always busy. However that's expected for the great work they do and the great service. So I would advise you make an appointment, they are really good about adhering to appt times. All in all Bamboo is a really nice salon with great people. I would recommend them to anyone.
