I wish I could give less than a star, they rush with everything they do, very aggressive and do not listen. I was asked the same question 10 times bc they would ask but not pay attention to what I respond to them. I left with cuts on my fingers and a poor paint job. They attempt to use the fact that they’re busy as a excuse for their rushed and poor service but it is your job to time manage and quote customers wait time so you can affectly provide service and experience. I've been here three times. My initial visit was amazing. I had a nail technician from Chicago and the only male employee there. I give them both 5 stars. Upon my return I looked for the nail tech from Chicago and she wasn't there. I was paired with a lady named Diane. She did my nails in the coffin shape and I was initially pleased. I visited the day before Valentine's Day. Anywhere I go I get the same service. Nails with shellac , coffin shape and a deluxe pedicure with shellac. The pedicure tech didn't listen to me when I told her shellac and she painted my toenails with regular polish. Annoying. But whatever. That's not the issue. My nails never break. Ever. 4 of my nails broke in just under a week. So I go back and get them fixed. Diane was there so they made her repair them. After telling her numerous times the nails were not the same size I just let her finished and paid for my repair. I'm never going back there. I'd expect the same nail shape from Diane cause she was the original technician that did my nails. But that's not what I got. Take a look for yourself. Embarrassing. That's what I get for not going to Grand Lux like I normally do. Especially if I'm paying $125 every two weeks for my services. Read Less

First time I came here was for a dip powder set. The nail tech did a nice job and I was satisfied. So, I decided to come back a second time for a refill dip set and a pedicure. I sat down in the pedi chair and had a lady working on my nails at the same time to remove the dip powder. She had me basically dip my fingers in a bowl of acetone instead of individually putting cotton and wrapping foil around each finger which works better. This method took forever and she looked unhappy about the whole process. So was I. The dip powder color was nice but the overall job was sloppy and messy around the cuticle area. There are bubbles on a couple of my nails and I'm a little perturbed at how much I paid and tipped for this service. However, I didn't want to be a jerk. A week later and my thumb nail is cracked, the part around my cuticle looks all jagged and messy. As for my pedi, meh. Not impressed. If I'm paying for the extras, put some backbone into it. The massage was hardly a massage. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that I wasn't even offered a drink. No water, no wine, nothing. Even though the two white ladies next to me had their glasses of wine and we're even asked if they'd like a refill. I'm sitting here for two hours while my nail tech figures her life out with my nails, thirsty, hungry and overall unsatisfied. I will not be returning here and don't recommend. I got Shilac done from this place 2 days ago. They did a very bad job even though it took an hour, it was very uneven by the cuticles, but I didn’t make a big deal of it. 2 days later the shilac changed its color on one of my hands. Which is very wierd, because I have been getting it for many years now. I came here to request them to change it, they refused to fix it, and said I polished over it. She scrubbed my nails, and you could see that the older color was underneath it. I don’t know how it changed it’s color on it’s surface, but it’s obvious that it is not an additional layer of polish on it. I will not be visiting this place again. Even if they didn’t understand the color change, they should have still redone my hands to make it neater. And on top of that, she said that I am lying and I colored over it. Worst experience and not worth the money at all. Her name was LY I think and she was the ABSOLUTE WORST! she kept jerking and pulling my hand and not to mention when I arrived she grabbed my elbow and was pushing me forward! I paid $11 for a damn soak off! I will never go there again; they don't even care about there customer satisfaction just money. They treated me like that because I was African American I could tell. I've been here numerous times. It is hit or miss but  mostly miss. They don't sterilize their tools. Prices went up but quality went down. My most recent experience was three days ago and shellac is already peeling. The girl that did it was really rough. I aksed if she was new turns out she has been there a while. I got a coupon in the mail for this place and wanted to try it out. My coupon was for a free classic pedicure. I was sure there was some kind of twist but when I got here it was actually a full free pedicure! 10 minute massage included :).. my 2 year old got to sit in the princess chair & get a baby pedicure & manicure for $20 all together. This included them massaging her legs, cutting cuticles, & painting toes and nails. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Nancy offered me a glass of red wine for FREE. Lee is currently waving a paper over my daughter's nails to dry them. I've never seen a nail salon care about you once they're done with your nails. Linda did awesome on my toes and Andy did the perfect coffin shape on my sister's nails. I am so happy that I chose to come here and I will definitely be back every time I need my nails done!! I come here all the time so i finally decied to grab one of the frequent flyer stamp cards. Mind you ive bewn here 2x today alone and asked the lady to stamp my card she refused to and said the marks were no done by them. 1st of all when i picked up the card they were already on there. I explained that. I told the woman i just want a stamp so i can fill up the card and she continued to accuse me of markinh the card. So disappointed with the customer service . Came to this place for "nail dipping" or "SNS". Very poorly done. All of my nails had random dents/chips in it. The topcoat started chipping off the very next day. The color was different than the one I picked. There were 2 unhappy customers while I was there (I should've walked out when I heard them complaining). I literally went and got them redone in Sugar Land 4 days later. Needless to say, I'm never going back there again. Complete waste of time and money. Read Less

My friend and I came here to get our nails done before my wedding. We both got a classic pedicure and acrylic nails done. They sat us within about 5 minutes of being there but then we sat with our feet soaking for 30 minutes before they were even touched. My friends were started before mine so when she was done she went and got the acrylic nails on. After I was done I waited for quite awhile before a nail tech did my nails. No pushing the cuticle back, no arm/hand massage done...nothing. My friend had to wait a full hour after hers were done for mine to be done. They also did have the color I picked for the acrylic either. Needless to say we were there for 3 HOURS for a pedicure and acrylic nails!!!! That was my first time and last time going there. I really love the inside! Very beautiful. The staff is EXCELLENT. The receptionist at the front addressed me immediately and formally and offered me goodies (cakes, cookies, and other pastries) The price is like any other nail salon. I got a full set and Andy did a lovely job. He was very clean and quick. He had minimal to no mistakes (they all make mistakes, who doesnt?) My last experience started on Friday so I'd have a fresh mani-pedi for my vacation on Monday. 7/18, Friday: Shellac Mani and shellac pedi:  $90 plus $10 tip. 7/19, Saturday: The "long-lasting" shellac on my big toenail cracked and broke the nail in the process.   My thumbnail wasn't covered correctly and was peeling. 7/20, Sunday:  I went back and explained the issues.  The same technician took off the shellac and half of my existing nail and put a tip on it. She simply painted over my thumb. They charged me an extra 5 bucks because my I had broken my toenail. Now we're up to $105!7/22, Tuesday:  I'm in Michigan and the repair job on my toe has lifted off the nailbed and is so loose I expect it will crack any second now. The 'repaired" thumb paint over is peeling off the original shellac layers. Of course, now I'm 1800 miles away with a worthless set of nails!  This was the mani-Pedi from Hell. Read Less

I have gone here several times over the time period they have been open and my experience has always been the same. They do a decent job, but the prices are too much for what you are getting. Before the ownership change, they were a lot more attentive to what you needed, but they tried to charge me for things I didn't ask for. After the ownership change, I never had the issues I had before, but they just wanted to get me in and out. Bad. I hated every minute of it. It's a nice place in terms of decor and atmosphere but at end of the day I just want a good pedicure. I couldn't care less about the frills.The lady who did my feet was nice but I felt like she rushed through and didnt pay the special attention that I think a $30 pedicure would require. I've had better pedicures at hole in the wall salons that charge half of what AMC chargesFor this reason I would not go back.  I think it's overpriced for what you get. Don't mind the $30 or higher priced packages but it's the quality of service. Felt very rushed. Even when the lady rubbed lotion onto my legs and feet I barely felt it. It definitely was not "calf massage" as their menu stated. More like a 45 second leg rub. Just enough to work the lotion in and it was over. Andy foot was not fully exfoliated either. Meh.Only go if you get impressed by frills such as oranges, aromatherapy, parrafin waxes, and being offered a drink.  But if you just want a good old fashioned pedicure that gives you a good foot exfoliation and massage go somewhere else. I've been twice for a shellac manicure and pedicure. I thought the pedicure prices were a little high so was waiting for an exceptional experience. I went with three friends and we were offered wine which of course is a nice touch. We were done with a manicure and pedicure in 50 minutes. At first I was really impressed, that's quick the fastest I've gotten out of a nail salon ever! But, the quality was missing. They didn't spend a lot of time at all on the pedicure. The next time we all went back it was quick as well. Done with both in under a hour. I went home and noticed my nail had been broken and they didn't fix it so I had to clip it and file it down. The polish wasn't even at all. My friend got home and her nail had broken also. We won't be returning because it seems to be hit or miss and too quick not enough quality. DO NOT USE THIS BUISNESS!The manager is terrible. I came in and requested them to remove my gel polish and then repaint it. She had me choose a color. She asked me numerous times if I would also like a pedicure. I told her that I did not have time to do both and that I would just get my nails done. She claimed they were running a special and the pedicures were all discounted. I said that I still did not have time and I did not care for one. She said that she had two people available and the pedicure would not add any time because they would do both together. I agreed that I could do the pedicure if they could get them both done at the same time. She sent me back to the chair and said she would pick a toe nail polish to match my Shellac. I went back to the chair and two people started working on my hands and toes. About 3 minutes later other customers came in and she pulled one of the technicians to go help them. I was upset and felt this was rude. I the manager would send the next available person to do my nails so that they would be finished on time as promised. I was mistaken. She did not send another person even though they were available. Then when they started painting my toes I realized that the manager had chosen a blue and that they would not match the purple I had picked out for my nails. I told my technician and she claimed that it just looked different in the bottle and it would match my nails. Meanwhile the manager continued to send her technicians to work on entering customers and she made me wait till my technician was done with my toes until starting my nails. When she started my nails with the color I had picked she said that it did not match I agreed and told her that I was trying to explain I wanted purple earlier. Her solution was to find a Shellac to match the blue on my toes that I did not even like. I agreed because I needed to be finished. When checking out I explained my frustrations to the manager and she tried to blame it on the technician even though the problem was caused by her. I tried this location at a friends request.  We where greeted with a smile and had great service. BUT I had made the reservations under my name and not my friends, who is the regular.  I found out that meant, "you get the new girl" who apparently is not familiar with mani/pedi quite yet...  My french mani was over charged, and I have clear polish all over my cuticles! They claimed the shellac was going to be $25, cheaper than the place I go, but they dont do anything but paint your nails, no manicure at all.  I was very disappointed with the $80 mani/pedi I got and will go to Model nail or Infinity from now on.  No amount of 'nice-ness' will be worth a crappy $80 manicure/pedicure Read Less

Went for a (much needed) pedicure pampering day with my mom.  This establishment was recommended by a friend of hers .The salon was beautiful!  Awesome decorations!  Friendly staff.  Yes, the up sell thing happens the second you walk in and tell them what you want...  Not the best thing, but we get this at all salons!  Annnnnd, I'm glad they talked us into the hot rock, paraffin wax pedi!  It was AWESOME!The pedicure chairs were new and Seriously did their job.  (For real, i felt like i had  gotten a real massage at the end of it) , the massage i got from the tech, with the pedi, i was nice too!  I would go here every week if i could!   But, I live in Austin.  Ces't La Vie.*i cant speak to the nail polish selection, as mom and i brought our own.Stats:  the place looked great, the staff was friendly, they did an amazing job of massaging and beautifying my hooves.  I would go back again and again. I have been going to this place since it opened. I loved going there! It had everything, friendly service, some of the best massages to go with your pedicure. But then the new owners came in. The woman is so rude, she refused to let me pay with my card because she saw I had enough cash in my wallet. Hello?! Why are you looking in my wallet, and I have plans for that cash! That's exactly why I wanted to pay with card. They rush you along, like you are on a convery belt. I got THE worst manicure, the woman wouldn't even listen to me when I asked her to do something. I've tried all the nail salons in the Richmond area and settled a few years ago on AMC Nails & Spa. So I was a little nervous when the business was sold in early summer of 2011. But don't be afraid. The new owners have kept the same great service, the nail technicians are the same and happy with the change, and there are MORE AMENITIES THAN EVER!! Come on Monday or Tuesday and there are fruit platters and cookies and nuts for snacking. Wonderful foot and leg massages with BRAND NEW MASSAGE CHAIRS. My sister raved about this place. I just moved to the Houston area and she lives very close to this Spa so I had hoped this would become a monthly ritual for us both. Not so much. It was probably one of the poorer pedicures I've had. Polish, price and experience while there was fine (nice massage chairs and atmosphere - albeit the smell of acrylics was very strong) but I realized after getting home that little to no callus had been removed. My feet looked as if I had not had a pedicure at all. When I went back the next day to have them re-do the callus removal (the biggest part of the pedicure for me is callus removal), all I got was dirty looks and eventually someone telling me that if they took any more off, my foot would bleed. As if. But of course now I didn't feel safe letting them back at my feet. Too bad... they just lost what would probably have been a monthly customer. Read Less

Myself and two girlfriends were there June 23, 2010 and we found the service to be wonderful - the new manager, Donna was a delight, our pedi and mani were attended to by delightful attendants, this was my third time there personally and the first for my two girlfriends. We all had a glass of white wine, and the massage chairs you sit in during your pedi are AMAZING! The environment is so relaxing with a Greek theme - pillars, gorgeous inlaid tile work on the floor, everything is so beautiful! Our nails were done to perfection and we were not rushed but encouraged to stay to enjoy the massage chairs while our nails dried. To me, most nail salons I have been to are just about all the same, however, my eyes have been opened to a whole new experience a couple of weekends ago. My friend Tabatha and her husband recently moved into a new house in the area, so I went to check out their house 2 weekends ago. Tabatha and I were both in dire need of some girl time and mani/pedis. Leaving our kids to the hubbies, we drove around trying to find a salon and came across AMC Nail Salon. It looked clean enough so we gave it a shot. Boy, am I glad we did! What an experience! I fell in love with the soothing ambience of the salon. I loved the chandelier, light fixtures on the wall, Roman theme and the little butterfly pedi chairs for little kids. I?ve never seen so many pedi/massage chairs in a nail salon, yet they managed to fill them all up. Although they were very busy, the manager managed to squeeze my friend and me in. We had to wait about 15 minutes, which we didn?t mind given the fact that we didn?t have appointments, and there were complimentary refreshments. When it was our turn, I noticed my technician?s gentleness as she scrubbed and massaged my feet. She was a sweet lady who seemed to pay great attention to detail. I came into this salon as a stranger and left feeling like I?ve gone here for years! From reading the review below, I guess the old management was horrible, but recently, they were bought out by new owners. I feel as though this salon, under new management, is headed in the right direction. This was far from a bad experience. I will DEFINITELY return to this salon. AMC is right across the street from my neighborhood and so despite the review that I read on citysearch, I decided to give this place a try. I have to say that my experience at AMC was fantastic. The service was phenomenal. They catered to whatever I needed and asked for. I absolutely love the already chilled wine glasses and champagne. I did ask the ladies who worked there about the manager that was referred to in the previous review and they said that he does not work there anymore. I met the manager the day I got my nails done and she is the sweetest lady ever! I plan to continue going to AMC as long as I live across the street. I already plan to book my bridal party spa day at AMC in the very near future. Read Less
