I don't usually go here for my eyebrows, but my regular place was closed, so I tried it based on good reviews of other people who have gone. Very upset with my eyebrow wax... I asked for a basic clean up, nothing extra taken off, bare minimum. My thicker eyebrows are very thin now. Basically reshaped the whole brow. Took off way too much. This is the BEST spa in the area. It is calm, relaxing, and quiet. I have been to many other salons that have kids running around and the atmosphere is always too bright and chaotic - you won't find that at Nova. I don't understand the few bad reviews since the owner and her employees are always doing their best to please the customer. That can't be easy. I never see them rest (or eat or play on their phone!) - they focus on their clients. I can't tell you how many OTHER sa...lons I have visited that rush you through their services and charge considerably more. I have been going here for the past 5+ years, every month, and my nails are always beautiful. If you are in a rush for a pedicure, then make an appointment and let them know you have limited time. I got a gel manicure. This salon is plain vintage simple and affordable if you need a mani for $25.  Nothing fancy. No lotions. No hand massages. Salon is old., outdated. They do pedicures with feet in a bucket of water. Very old school. There a 2 really nice new spa chairs in the back  that were not in use. Up side: staff is friendly and for the most part you can understand their English. My mani is okay. Nothing spectacular. But you get what you pay for.  I wish I would have spent this extra $10 to get a full service mani. They don't do a feature nail, no nail art. I think what shocked me the most was when the tech started picking my old gel manicure off my nail by hand without soaking! I stopped her and had to ask for a acetone foil wrap. Just posted this on Google and wanted to spread the love. I've been living in nearby Plano for about 3 years now, and discovered this place around that time. Honestly I'm really surprised by some of the the negative google reviews of this place as I have always received fantastic service here. Maybe they reviewed the wrong place? In any case - the pedicures are heavenly (I always go for the Deluxe), the manicures last for weeks and weeks on end (despite my brutal treatmen...t of my hands at work), and the people are always really friendly. I like this place so much that I've thrown alternative bachelorette parties for my friends with Nova as our first stop. (Last time I did it was two weeks before my friend's wedding, and her nails were still perfect by her wedding day!) The pricing is actually really reasonable for the service you get, and in my experience the pricing itself is never a surprise, since they give you very clear and easy-to-read menu cards with their pricing info and service descriptions. And they also go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable while getting your stuff done - from really amazing massage chairs to offering you something to drink (like water, lemonade, coffee, etc) - they know how to treat their customers well. Also, the mood in the place is very quiet and relaxing. For a newly pregnant mom-to-be, being able to go somewhere quiet to relax and be completely pampered without making my wallet cry, this place is a gem. Thanks Nova! I've been here several times and never had a bad experience, the shop is always clean and is beautiful. The staff are very pleasant, they don't seem to rush you as other salons in the area do. They listen to what u want and do a great job. They are always busy when I go so I suggest an appt. I would like to suggest u get more polish colors and get them organized by color the one shelf u currently have the colors are randomly placed. Waited 30 min for a pedicure, after 10 min they put me in a chair with water so I sat there for twenty mins while they worked on people who came after me. The water went cold and I finally left so I could get to work for a meeting. Very poor customer service. Read Less

I have been going to First Lady Nails since 2004 because it was near where I lived at the time.  I still go there monthly for regular pedicure ($17) and the occasional regular manicure. Family owned, and very clean salon.   Prices are fantastic, so I tip well. They are in the shopping strip where Tom Thumb is located. I prefer to make an appointment. Read Less

Only 5 or 6 work stations, this place is as tiny as their prices!!  I went because it's close to home (less than 1 mile) plus next to my grocery store made this place extra sweet!  Went for a pedicure and I got; a foot soak & scrub, cuticles cleaned & trimmed, dry/callus skin removed, nails trimmed & filed plus a nice foot massage too!  Oh, and of course my toe nails painted in the color of my choice (including base & top coats) My feet were sad & ugly, but now MY FEET LOOK FABULOUS!!!  You've already got all the scented lotions you need!  Now it's time to spend your money wisely!!!  I got all of the above in a clean nice friendly place and it only cost me..... are you ready this.....  $17.00 !!!!  I know, unbelievable right!  I couldn't believe it either!  Now my feet are ready to dance all night and my purse said I could afford to go, yeah!!!   Thank you First Lady Nails!  See y'all again really soon! Got solar nails and pedicures here for years and was always happy with results. Then got sucked in to another place that was a bit fancier and more expensive. I enjoyed going there, too, but the thing is, they didn't seem to care whether I came back or not.  Didn't know my name after 3 years and never, ever, said "thanks for coming."  I got tired of shelling out the bucks to people who just didn't care. When I went back to First Lady on a whim with no appointment, they greeted me by name! Nails salons come and go but First Lady is still there doing a great job because they know the meaning of customer service.  I'm definitely a fan.February 2016 - Just want to update and raise my initial rating to 5 stars.  I'm at First Lady every other week for pedicure and attention to my nails. Recently decided to try to let my nails grow out without using acrylic.  Vivian is so helpful with this endeavor.  Daisy's pedicures leave my feet tingling with joy (yes, there is such a thing as feet that tingle with joy). For a clean, reliable, friendly mani pedi, this is my favorite place in the area. I went there for years when I lived in The Metroplex!The prices are reasonable and the service was always quick and efficient. I want to say a mani-pedi was25 or  30$ last time I went...
