I loved this place the first time I went. Nancy did a great job on my pedicure and was super funny and nice. She didn't do that great on my nails but I didn't mind because 1) I didn't notice until after 2) I thought maybe it was the polish. I came back today and she spent literally 11 minutes doing my manicure and it wasn't that great. Whatever, could've gotten over that. Then they rush me out before my nails are dry & when I come right back in because my nail is messed up they tell me to "be more careful". Keep in mind it's not even close to closing time and there's still like 4 people in there. So disappointing & a waste of money. Never coming back. Read Less

It's true that they take a long time, but that's because they take their time to do it right. I used to faithfully go to another place in the area, decided to try a new place because I didn't like that the other place rushed through everything and a lot of the time my nails didn't look right.At this place I was able to sit and relax and enjoy my pedicure without someone starting on my fingernails at the same time. And they took their time with my nails too. They are the right length and shape, they aren't lumpy.I love their work.One thing I didn't like is there's a lot of crap talking in their language. Vicki is literally THE NAIL lady!!!  I am super picky and have gone all over Houston and the surrounding areas trying to find a nail salon. She is the one. She doesn't rush the job and listens to the way you want your nails and doesn't make you feel like it's a bother. And for your toes - I really like Tiffany :) she took her time as well. I am a regular here. I come at least once a month to get my nails done. They have always given me great treatment. Vinny is who I like to do my nails/ eyebrows the most. The nail techs are friendly, but don't talk too much, which I like because they get the job done well and fast. I always get Shellac on my nails and it usually lasts me almost 3 weeks! At the end of the manicure treatment, they always give a neck massage which is something I always look forward to! They usually always offer me a beverage as well, and even offer free wine! For the pedicures, they have 3 treatments you can choose from depending on how much you want to pay. I usually opt for the Deluxe Treatment (I believe $30) which includes normal pedicure procedure, an orange scrub on your legs, and sometimes I add on the hot wax treatment for additional $5 when I want to treat myself. It feels great! The salon is clean and they have TONS of colors to choose from, more than any other place I have been. There are lots of workers so I rarely have to wait, even without an appointment! I have never felt rushed like I have at other places, and I really appreciate this business for that reason.The reason I did not give this place the full 5 stars is because occasionally, I get a nail tech that doesn't do the neck massage/ leg massage as long as others or not as well. They give the best and most consistent pedicures in this area. It's hard to find a place that will actually take the time to do a great job plus not feel rushed. You go get a pedicure to relax and this place is the best place to do so! They have 3 different pedicures to pick from ($20, $30, or $45). I get the deluxe package which is $30 plus paraffin wax for $5 more. They have a good selection of colors to pick from too. Another plus is that the nail polish actually lasted more than a month without it chipping. The place is very clean and the technicians all seem very friendly. I read the yelp reviews and finally decided to get my nails done here, and with Vicki (of course).  She didnt dissapoint. She was very friendly. I was the last customer in and i still didn't feel rushed at all. She took her time, and even decided to redo the shellac on one nail because she said it wasn't pleasing to the eye. I used to be devoted to another nail spa but since trying Artist as a recommendation from my coworker. I won't ever leave!! So far the service is always great and prices are too everyone is friendly and they usually get me in and out in an hour and a half I always call first though to check availability as with any place I'd go. I came here to get a pedi and full set for my wedding day. During my pedi they asked which package I'd like. Even though I chose just the basic, she still took her time and didn't rush me out!! That right there had me hooked. Every other salon I've been to the second you don't select a premium package they treat you rudely and rush you out. Definitely not the case here! For my nails I wanted an soft ombré with white and pink and they turned out perfect! I'm on week two of my nails and they're still holding on strong with no lifting or chipping! Couldn't be happier! Y'all let me tell you about my girl Vicky!! She is absolutely amazing... I have never in my life had a nail tech I was faithful to until I met her. You know those girls you see with nasty nubs because they bite down to the core, yea well that's me. Vicky has got my nails to grow so long and beautiful she has me on point at all times!!! Totally recommend her to anyone and everyone. I have all my co workers coming to her and they all love her. I personally won't let anyone else do my nails but any tech you get at artist is good they treat you so nice it's an awesome experience all around. Edit after a few months: Moved from Houston back to the Northeast and I miss Tina's work. A regular mani/pedi lasted me days and she was great. Miss her!It has been a week since I got my nails done and they are still great (just regular manicure). Best price for the area ($30 mani, pedi). I have been myriad nail salons in Houston and this is by far the most consistent salon. Other salons start off good with their service and decline in an effort to get more clients in and out in the quickest manner possible. This has never been the case for me. Service is ok.  Came here for a pedicure.  Felt rushed even though it was not busy.  Lady got upset when I nicely informed her that her paint job was not even.  Got the usual smack talk right afterwards in their language.   The only thing that I did like is that they use a brand new tool set on you. I love Mr. Lee's work. I have trouble with nails "lifting" around the edges after a week or so.  Not with Mr. Lee!  He takes his time, quite a bit longer than most, but it's the same price and well worth the extra time to have them done RIGHT.  To boot, they offer wine so the extra time is cool with me! This is the only place I'll go to get my nails. I've tried several places in the area and went to a couple more times than one but was never as happy with my nails as I have been since I started going to Artist. I don't get my nails done often but the many times I have I always regret wasting my money on them.  But thanks to Lilly @ table #7 at Artist Nails & Spa I found my go to spot for my manicure needs! She was very thorough and friendly.  Not to mention their low prices! I got the powder color/glitter overlay and my daughter got a simple manicure and paid only $35 + tip.  They offer complementary drinks, have tons of powder colors to choose from and the space is very clean. Got a manicure and gel polish they have every color you can imagine. So many to choose from which is awesome. Looked like they have a ton of acrylic colors as well. Got and hand/arm message and a shoulder rub (which is kinda weird if you don't like to be touched) with my manicure. Will definitely be going back! Great prices and they take their time. Read Less
