I went to the Luxx Nail Spa & really liked it! I thought they were professional yet relaxed. They serve a complimentary drink (the specialty coffee was great!). She was patient & sweet as she worked with me on exactly what color I wanted & explained a couple things I didn't understand (bc I've only been a couple other times in my life 🤣). She did a fantastic job on my nails, even the little detail I asked for 😍 The "diamond" came off the next day so I went in and she quickly fixed it. Today was my first time here and I am hooked. I have small nail beds and I asked for a white tip. Usually when I get them done they look chunky and like I have little kid nails. Steven took the time to make the nail look natural and was extremely careful with my cuticles which are very sensitive and almost always hurt afterward (this time they do not) I’m use to being charged $40-$50 because it takes more time on my nails but I was only charged $35. I thought I would treat myself today and went to Luxxe Nails for a mani/pedi. Every time I've gone into their place and had to wait for any time,  I watch the front manager, the rude guy who wears glasses talk about customers behind their back. He makes people feel like their stupid. A customer may not understand something and as soon as they leave I've heard him say snarky things. This tells me how he treats his staff and obviously does not care how he makes customers feel. I won't return and didn't stay to get half ass service! I would NOT recommend this place. Read Less

Two stars for the benefit of the doubt. My wife and I walked in, placed our names on the list, were told it would be an hour wait, happily accepted, and went to wait at the neighboring bar. Several minutes later, we received a text message informing us that Luxx would not be able to accommodate us. We walked back to the salon and were told they were too busy and the technicians “wouldn’t like it if they had to stay late.” Which is fair, but don’t let us get on the list and make plans to wait, only to be turned away. The nail tech that I had on Friday 3/2/18 around 2pm was awesome but the reason for my low star review is I have been to this location 2x and frankly the male receptionist who checks you in is rude and condescending! I sat in the lobby watching him numerous times making snide comments to customers as they walk away. For example, a customer asked him for a drink and he tells the customer yes I'll get that made for you. As soon as she walked away, he says i'll decide to get to it when I get it. Very pretty & clean. I went in for a shellac manicure, they talked me into trying the powder dip instead, saying it was better for my nails. The nail technician was really nice & professional, everyone there was very friendly and helpful. I'm just not super happy with my nails. I'm not a fan of acrylic nails and the powder dip feels like I have acrylic nails. (I told them I don't like or want acrylic-like nails) My nails are really thick and feel heavy. The powder dip method took a lot longer than the last shellac manicure I had and was almost twice as much. 3 other ladies there were also getting the powder dip thing done, so I guess it's popular, I'm just not a fan. The level of service here is outstanding. I felt very well taken care of and appreciated. My manicurist was Tracy and she did a fantastic job. Love it here! After moving to NB from SA, I tried almost all the gorgeous nail salons in the area but I just did not find one that I loved . (Used to be a customer at ASIANA in SA) Now I don't go to any other salon in town, only LUXX. I love their service and the quality of the work I've received. They have a wonderful massage person, sometimes she gives complimentary neck massages while you're in the nail chairs; I booked a session with her and was very pleased with her professionalism and massage. For nails, I've had pedis and manis with Jennie and she's amazing! She pays attention to detail and makes sure that she does exactly what you ask for.The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because I usually call ahead and even with an appointment, I usually have to wait at least 15/20 minutes. But I usually don't mind because I'm very particular with the nail tech that I request. However, if you don't have a preference I would still call ahead just to make sure they put your name down before you show up in case there's a wait. Read Less

Really had a great experience the first few times I went to Luxx. I recently went, and it was less than desirable. I requested a certain shape, left with a different shape and went back to get them fixed. Felt like I was more of an imposition than anything... I sent them a message in regard to it and then they argued with me about how the shape I got (that I wanted fixed) looked better. Won't be going back unfortunately, more due to the lack of customer service after not getting what I requested. Would love to see them mean what they say about making sure people are satisfied. This place is amazing!! The pedicure was so relaxing.  The atmosphere and the scent was so soothing.  Taina did a great job on my toes and all of the girls were so upbeat and pleasant.  I had a specific color in mind for my SNS, and they were able to work with me and figure out the perfect one for my big day, aaaaaand they have quite the selection of cocktails while you are getting pampered.  Will definitely be back! I loved this place as soon as I walked in. Greeted by people at the front desk, with minimal waiting time! We got 4 pedicures and 2 mani pedis and they were absolutely lovely. The mimosas were tasty and the complementary neck messages lulled me into relaxation even more. Tracy did both my manicure and pedicure and was such a delight. A true treat for anyone. I have been seeing Ana since 2014 and will remain a loyal customer whenever I'm in San Antonio. She used to work at Asiana Nail Lounge in North Park. She works only on Tuesday at this location so I see her now at Luxx. Anna is extremely thorough with her work and has the warmest personality. She listens to my needs and makes sure I remember to relax (too often lol). When you check in you are able to have 1-2 alcoholic beverages or non-alcoholic plus water with mint lemon or cucumber. The pedicure rooms are UBER relaxing and they minimize use of light to maximize relaxing experience.  I get the Blue Hawaiian pedicure which includes lengthy scrub massage and lotion massage. The selection of gel and non gel colors are endless! You also receive a 10-minute complimentary massage and a warmed bean neck sack to relax you.I also get waxwings here that Anna does. Read Less

I've been here twice since they have opened. Once for a manicure and the second most recent for a pedicure. Both times it was hard to not notice the male up front that is either just a receptionist or the manager being the receptionist and his condescending attitude.  Aside from that the place has been a nice place to get nails done with friendly technicians. I had an awesome experience here! With Lauren and Winnie. Very relaxing and luxurious! I got the Milk and Honey pedicure and manicure. They have been open for 2 months now and this was my first time; I came with my best friend for her birthday and we both got our nails and toes done. Great atmosphere! The drinks were great as well! Trini was amaxing with my husband. It was just 1st pedicure and he loved it.Though I'm sad to write a 1 star review as she was a pleasure.The overall experience was not so fantastic as I waited for 25 minutes on my shellac removal while my pedicure person was too distracted by other things. Not super impressed.Nice location...that's the 2 stars...Took 20 minutes past my appointment time to start my pedi even though they did not appear very busy.Prices are high and the tech was pretty rough with my toes.She had me manually elevate my foot for the scrub which was fairly exhausting and certainly not relaxing.Just rather short and unfriendly in general.A nice lady did come by and offer a complimentary 1 minute neck massage...that was the nicest part.I think I'll stick to a real bar for adult beverages and Kuhl River for my nail needs :) Read Less

The only thing that's nice is the layout. Went in there with my voucher for being the first 88 people. Got a pedicure with ended up being $32 (exactly what the voucher was for). They were doing a promotion for $30 percent off so the lady tells me $22. I was like okay, even with the voucher? She told me yes, but I wouldn't get the remaining $8 if I cashed out. So then I ended up getting my eyebrows waxed for $10 which totaled $32 even. I get back up to the front desk and they tell me I owe $10 and I said it should have been $3 because of the discount and they lady started arguing with me telling me I need to call someone and get the rest of the money then.. worst customer service ever.
