My favorite nail salon! The place is very clean. The staff is always friendly when I walk in and offers me something to drink. If you make an appointment they call you if they're running behind and keep you updated. I always get the dipping powder with a tip and it comes out amazing! I normally don't write yelp review but i feel like this time i want to. Lavies Nails & Spa is literally the best nail salon that exists. Not only because of the quality in their work (which is phenomenal) but the salon itself is stunning. You are always welcomed in to get comfortable and are offered a nice drink of your choice. There is no smell of acetone in the air, everything is clean and modern, and there is relaxing music playing. I have referred so many of my friends and they all love it at Lavies Nails & Spa so much!! This is my first time visiting this Spa. I am extremely happy with the quality of this nail spa for my Nexgen. As long as the quality remains consistent, this WILL be my shop for my hands. I have had an extremely hard time finding a good quality nail shop. I've tried multiple shops around Garland, Murphy and Wylie. Either the quality of finish was bad (deformed looking nail finish).... or the finish was Awesome, but my fingers were left chemical burned because instead of using the foil wrap to remove the nexgen, they would soak my whole hands in a bowl of acetone, and I'd have to drench my hands in lotion for a couple of days to regain the moisture. The Nexgen price is only a LITTLE higher here then some (average or lower then some others I've priced), but the quality of the work is worth it here. I did have an issue with my credit card having to be run twice because they didn't have paper in the machine the first time she scanned my card. Both charges showed on my statement as "Pending" charges initially, but I didn't say anything about it and gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be corrected .....by the next day one of the charges was credited back automatically. I did not get a pedicure here, as their pedicure prices are extremely high. I have a shop in Garland that will do for $25.00, what they charge $35.00 for, plus the other shop also moves you from the spa chair to a recliner to finish the pedicure with the hot stones massage and painting your nails, and I think that is a much better experience than for the whole experience to be in the spa chair only. LaVie does have a $28.00 pedicure, but it doesn't include the hot stones or the hot towel wrap. For the Nexgen, I give this shop a 5 rating Read Less

The ambience is nice and the staff is kind and welcoming. I was offered a beverage upon entering. However, I should've turned and walked out as soon as I noticed that I was the only customer in the store.  I came in for a standard pedicure which ran me $28 plus tip. The nail tech asked me if I would like my nails cut down and I said yes a little long story short my big toenails are cut down so short that they actually hurt now. Also there was absolutely no callus work done on my heels which is my trouble spot they look the same as when I walked in. I would love to give a 3+ rating but I just can't. Sweet group of ladies, but either poor products or application. As a healthcare worker, we are on our feet & wash our hands. I got a deluxe pedicure & regular manicure on Friday, was chipped off by Sunday night, without working on my feet or scrubbing hands. I went to another place to have it fixed. What a waste of money & time. In 25 years of getting pedicures, I've never had a chip, a chip! Never. And i get it, it's 'regular' nail polish, but my Walmart nail polish was shinier and lasted longer. Would not recommend. Read Less

I received a gift card to La Vie for Christmas and given that I am a self proclaimed "manly man" I wasn't particularly excited for a pedicure.  However I took one for the team and joined my family for a spa day a few days later.  I am now hooked.  My little piggies have never felt or looked better and the staff was phenomenal.  Everyone was incredibly kind and no one even batted an eye at my less than beautiful feet.  I still like baseball, beer and BBQ, but I may just have to work pedicures into my calendar every once in awhile. I love coming to this place. They have nice decor and trendy music. I got my hair and makeup done by the owner of the salon, and she did an exceptional and thorough job. Lots of people complimented my look, and I would definitely come back again. She is very detailed driven. If you show her a pic of the makeup look you want, she will do it very well. This is closer to my house than the other salons in town so I had to come in and try. Decor is chic and very clean. They have a hair salon and nail salon so you can get a whole lot done here and probably spend the whole day!I was here for just a Pedi and was offered a drink as soon as I sat down. Been here three times now. Always exceptional service. Rarely crowded. The technicians do a great job, however it's the added services complementary that make the experience wonderful. They set you up with pillow, drink, sometimes if you're lucky you get a shoulder massage. Very quiet and peaceful. Not your typical hectic crazy nail salon. Read Less

I decided to try La Vie for a second time, after a bad first experience where the color wore off my nails after just three days.  I should have learned my lesson!   Not only are my nails too thin and too short, they charged me $55!!  I've never had a nail job cost $55.  They put the foil on my nails which made them sticky, so they had to remove the gel.  That cost extra.  But, since they had to remove the gel and reapply the powder, they charged me extra for that!  What a rip off.  And, to top it off, it took an hour and a half and the guy that did my nails was rude and smelled like cigarette smoke.  I won't be giving them a third chance.  Awful service.  Nice decor but it doesn't make up for awful service and the cost. Let me start with saying, I have never written a bad review ever, I always try to find something positive in every experience. This was not the case with this establishment. I spent $180 for 2 pedicures and 2 manicures. It was a fun outing with my family as we were visiting from out of town. My gel manicure did not even last 3 days!!!! I have had them last 4-6 weeks from my place at home! My aunts polish came off in the parking lot as we were leaving, however the experience was so bad she didn't even want to go in to have it fixed. They have extremely inexperienced people working there and I personally felt a few did not have their license to practice cosmetology or anything to do in a salon. Please take my advice and choose somewhere different, you will regret this place before You ever leave. Read Less

I am sure they are great with nails, but the waxing service was terrible. The lady, whose name I did not get was very nice but I was left with almost no eyebrows. My daughters eyebrows did not come out great either and we were both still covered in wax when we left. When I got a full view of my eyebrows in the car I burst in to tears and cried all the way home. For the first time in my 45 years I will have to use an eyebrow fill in. Originally came for a gel manicure, but changed my mind and wanted to get acrylics instead.  The guy that was working on my gel told a different guy and he had me move stations to get started on the acrylic.  I still liked the color of gel that I had chosen and asked if he thought it would be too thick doing that over acrylic.  He looked at the color and said yes it might be better to do dipping powder.  So I asked to look at the colors to see if they had one similar to the gel color I had chosen.  He suggested one of the colors and I went with that one.  As he started to do my nails, I noticed that he pulled out a brush and what looked like acrylic liquid and then proceeded to do my nails in the traditional acrylic way.  I was thinking hmm that's weird maybe they just do it differently here or maybe I had ended up choosing an acrylic color by mistake.  So I just went with it.  A lady came over to put something away near my station and said to the guy doing my nails (in vietnamese) that she thought I was doing dip powder.  To which the guy responded (also in vietnamese) that I hadn't gotten nexgen nails before and  don't know the difference between the two so it's ok.  I was astonished that he would even say that in front of me, knowing full well that I could very well BE vietnamese and could understand what they were saying.  I don't know enough vietnamese to make a witty remark back, so I just sat there in silence to see what else they would say in front of me.  Luckily that was the extent of the conversation. I also asked for rounded square nails, but he made them just straight up square.  I had to go home and refile them.  He then added a gel top coat to my nails, which I think was how he was trying to compensate for the difference in price between the acrylic price and the dip powder price because in the end he did charge me for the nexgen price.  I've never had a salon try to pull something like that on me before.  Most salons are smart enough to know that I look Vietnamese and thus might understand it, so they don't every try to do something like that.  Because of this AND because of the fact that my nails didn't even turn out that great...I don't think I will be coming back.  One star for the decor.  And because they don't let you give zero stars. Visited this place tonight for the first time and my experience was good, but it did have a few downfalls.First and foremost, decor is beautiful , they have a wide range of colors to chose from, a bar, and not to mention the staff is super kind and helpful. The place itself is also very relaxing, doesn't smell of acetone, and a quiet environment.However, it was a little over priced. I paid $64 dollars for a basic pedicure & gel manicure. After the tip, $75. The pedicure was not anything special at all. My nails look good, but I feel like she should have applied more than one coat of the color, at least when I have gotten gel manicures at other places they usually apply the color 3 times. I felt over charged for toes and nails that are just "okay."If it weren't for that, I would come back, but I'm not someone that just spends money for the atmosphere, I need my nails to look immaculate for that amount of money. It is unlikely that I will be back to this salon. Let me first say that I no longer live in the area, so I have been unable to go back and give the manager the opportunity to make these things right...but...I had a very inexperienced pedicurist who left me with very deep wounds along the nail of my big toe on one foot. She called in a more experienced technician for the other foot, so the wounds on that toe were less severe (and yes, the nails were a little ingrown). Nothing other than alcohol was used to disinfect/clean the wounds. Next, my manicure...I asked for "American white" (or studio, or natural...I never know what different places call it, but I wanted a natural looking manicure, not French white). I got French white. And finally, I am unhappy with the lack of longevity of the manicure and the fiber caught in the finish as well as the "bubble" appearance of my nails. Just was not a good experience for me. Went to La Vie for the first time today and had a wonderful experience.  I wore acrylic nails for 2-3 years about 20 years ago.  Since then, I've had natural nails.  Regular manicures weren't really for me since the polish only looked good for a couple of days.  I had decided I wanted to try gel nails after so many of my friends and family had begun using them.  After talking with Cindy about my options, I decided on "dipping powder" instead.  It seems to be a hybrid between gel and the old-style acrylic but without so many chemicals and without any sort of light... yet fully dry within 5 minutes.  One of my favorite things about the older acrylics was that my cuticles always looks wonderful.  I think the dipping powder process will result in the same.  Makes me very happy.While there, Michelle took care of my pedi.  She also did an excellent job with the perfect massage, hot stones, hot towel, and more.  Such a treat.Both Cindy and Michelle were delightful and very helpful.  I wouldn't hesitate to request either of them again. This place is super nice and friendly !!! They have a lot of Essie color selections ( which I find is rare in Dallas) without the grand opening 20% discount I find this place a bit expensive but if I wanted a treat yo self day I would totally pick this place first! They have a bar! You can get cocktails or wine! Everything is clean and brand new inside ! The workers here are so nice too !
