This place is HORRIBLE! 1 star is way more than they deserve! I came last Saturday and spent 4 hours just to leave completely unsatisfied with my nails, I wish I knew the woman’s name who did this to my nails (short black hair with glasses...talks way too much). I was already late for a prior engagement so I didn’t have time to have someone else fix it. When I left the owner as well as the woman that did my nails knew they looked bad which why they didn’t charge me full price but they also didn’t acknowledge the horrible work or offer to correct it. I came back yesterday and showed them my nails and asked that they fix it but the only decent nail tech (Karen) was busy. So I came in this morning to give them another chance to rectify the horrible job that was done (I would like to note that I was not looking for a discount and was more than ready to pay full price for them to fix my nails) and they of cours kept me waiting and showed no remorse...I eventually just decided to leave and go to sweet escape off 59. I have been coming here for a while and loved it. In the back of my mind I kept wondering why the price keeps changing EVERY TIME I come and I get the SAME exact thing. Today the lady tells me a price for my nails and when I tell her I didn't pay that much last time she says well we go by length. (I'm getting a refill and she is charging me only 5 cheaper than a full set) Okay so since I keep my nails short for work purposes I asked her what do you consider long, short etc and what are your price points on them. Didn't have any issues with the staff. They weren't rude. They worked quickly and were quite friendly. Taking a star away just because I had a small bulge/bubble on one of my nails which was kind of sharp. And my shellac started chipping later that week which was unfortunate. I have been going into this salon for years. I went to the old location. Today I went for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was good the manicure was awful. First my nails were cut too short. My little finger was gouged when she was doing my cuticles. I chose red polish for Christmas. She had red polish all over her hands and mine. Every nail had to be cleaned from overlap. Both thumbs were done twice and they are still a mess. The sides of both are gooey and lu...mpy. I have to redo both. The young girl was very rough and kept jerking on my thumbs. I used to be a loyal customer at Spectrum Nails but have recently seen that the service and attention to detail has declined to the point I have decided not to go there anymore. The last experience was the final straw...the person giving me a pedicure asked me what service I wanted and I told her the basic pedicure. As she gave me a pedicure she burned me twice with scorching hot water that I literally cried the second time it happened after warning to kindly be careful when adjusting the wayer temperature. She gave me a foot scrub and thought, this wasn't part of the basic service. Ut maybe that was her way of apologizing so didn't think anything of it. Then the lady filing down my nail...I told her to be very careful because my nail bed was already thin from removing the previous powder and she filed it anyway and literally pulled my hand away three times. I honestly felt I was being todtured but couldn't leave because they were already halfway through the process.At the end the manager who was aware of this was not apologetic and chargede a deluxe pedicure and nails. I wasn't looking cor a discount but even an ounce of sencerity and an apology would've helped. For this reason their service is not worth what I paid and I will never gove them my business again. I had been searching for a new nail tech who happens to be well knowledgeable on the nail trends. Someone you can show a specific photo to and they can accommodate accordingly. I was suggested Spectrum because they do an amazing job - THAT, for one, is completely true. The young lady I continued to visit was amazing, took her time and made my visit very welcoming. They have drinks such as soda and water bottles while you are being pampered. This place can definitely get a bit packed and hectic during peek hours. Waiting isn't an issue due to them having several staff members to help.Now for the cons, unfortunately, this will explain my two (2) stars rating.1. If you are a walk in or did not call to make an appointment, you will most likely be treated with disrespect. Not every one but majority of the people have encountered disrespect at the salon. The will speak to you any kind of way and are a bit aggressive.2. The two older ladies at the reception desks as you enter are beyond the definition of unprofessional. The lady that has the straight long black hair, she can be a bit aggressive at times. Other than that you MAY catch her doing her job - unless she is outside on her phone. The other lady has more of a short edgy hair cut and she usually is a bit more dressed up than others. She is ALWAYSSSSSS on her cell phone, she is ALWAYSSSSS sitting in the waiting chairs as she eats AND lastly, when it is time to pay for their services, she is a bit aggressive towards customers. I have seen with my own eyes that she comes into work, immediately gets on her phone, sits next to customers to eat and never do her job. 3. Their pricing is a bit above the average pricing of nail salons. Which I slightly understand because of the work needed to be done, the time it takes and any addon's that are wanted. The downfall is that they do not have refills.I.e. I always get ombré coffin nails - which are long and needs two (2) powders in order to successfully complete the ombré effect. Which this service can range between $60 to $75. When I return for a refill, the price for normal salons is usually half or cheaper. Spectrum actually charged you the full price AGAIN - so for my refill I would have to pay $60 - $75. So I am basically paying for a FRESH SET of nails but I receive OLD nails with a topping. PERFECT!I will no longer attend this salon for any reason, even it is the last salon on earth. The are rude, they rush, they are very aggressive, their receptionist are beyond lazy and are clearly over pricing. It is all hype and no quality service. Great color selection but one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. My manicure felt rushed and quite frankly I could have painted them better on my own. Really disappointed. I got the dip powder. She dipped my nails about 5 times, making them super thick! She said she had to dip a lot because the color wasn't coming out right (why not just ask me if I want a new color?) she didn't file the sides so my nails are super sharp. I have to agree with majority of others that are sharing their experiences. When Spectrum first opened the customer service was superb but now I guess that they have the customer based platform, customer service has flew out the window. The prices of full sets and refills have went up dramatically... I don't think Chi(the owner) really cares about losing clients in my opinion. My full set was awesome along with great customer service with the lady that did my nails but the lady that did my pedicure was nonchalant, like she did not want to work that day. This salon was recommended to me and I was very disappointed in the customer service. I came in over an hour before close and was not greeted. A woman, assuming the manager, while on the phone asked me what I wanted and handed me the color swatch. She then started walking to the chair to turn on the water for the pedicure, pointed, and left. I was left confused, this was my first ever visit, and so I sat in the chair to wait for someone to come help me. I had to turn off the water because nobody was paying attention and it was about to overflow. The nail techs finally came over and one of them seemed to be very rushed as she came over and brushed my shoes to the side with her feet to start my manicure. Been a customer for over 3 years. I typically ignored never being offered a glass of wine or a bottle of water on my bi weekly visits because I loved they way my nails looked and how long they lasted. Within the last year I stopped getting pedicures because the water is always cold and the rush to get you out! Most recently the nail tech messed up my nails and when I tried to show her she yelled at me in front of the manager who not once asked her to stop! Horrible. Went in Friday to get shellac mani and regular pedi done. By Saturday morning the shellac on my finger nails had already chipped off. I went again today, Sunday, to have the nails fixed and a couple of hours later it was chipped AGAIN! This was my first visit to this salon and I will NOT be returning again. I really want to rate this place higher because I really like the way my shellac nails turn out, but the service is seriously lacking. The owner, Chi, is very curt and seems to always be in a hurry. She's not very welcoming. The ladies who work here are mostly pleasant and they do work hard. They have a small cooler up front, so be sure to grab a drink before you sit down because they won't offer it to you. It's surprisingly always busy and everyone complains about the rude service. Like other reviewers, I swear I will never return, but I just can't find another salon that does Shellac that will last as long as a spectrum mani. It's unfortunate I guess. this place is hit or miss! The past 3 times i have been have been horrible. There is one person who I have never had any problems with (Cindy) but she is not always available. I went in for a shellac mani/pedi. The lady doing my pedicure took a chunk of my heel out and failed to mention anything, did it hurt no not intially. It wasnt until after I left and i was out shopping that someone stopped me to tell me i had blood on my foot. So i stopped to take a look and sure enough there was a sliver or my heel missing (about the width of a dime). So needless to say they will be my last resort nail spot! Went yesterday for a solar pink and white set. This used to be the go to place for me. Used to be worth the extra drive. I have tiny bubbles all in the pink part, pink overlapping in some of the white tips, had to completely refile my nails as they were all uneven. I understand this is a very busy nail salon, but my service just felt beyond rushed. And the quality of my nails feels cheaper than usual. Almost like the glue on kind you can get at a drugstore. I've been coming here for 3 years only because they do good nails and intricate designs. Every time I leave though I never want to return. The customer service is atrocious! The owner runs around barking at all the employees. She is very cold, never caring how your services are going and just rushes everyone in & out.
