My first experience was fantastic. I had one of the best pedicures ever and it is a clean and relaxing environment. The staff stayed late and really went above and beyond. Then the next 3 times I went there I had bad experiences. First time, I had to come back because my toe nail polish would not dry. Second time, I did not get a top coat, barely any massage, and the pedicure did not last but a couple days. Third and final time, I got my nails shellac in white. They struggled to get them to dry and kept putting me under the gel dryer. When I went home they had a yellow tint to them and my pedicure did not dry again. Both lasted less than a week. I started off having the best pedicure of my life. Having my nails done was a different story. The 2 stars are for the pedicure only. I showed the guy a picture of what i wanted. I wanted pointy arcrylic nails that were not too long in a light matte grey color. Fist tje guy argues with me that its not the same color as my toes. Then he tells me the color and the cut will be ugly. Then he askes me if i just want the color painted on or the acrylic powder, which with his accent is very hard to understand, so i chose the only option that i vaguely could understand. He also talked to me like i'm stupid, because i could't understand and thought i had never jad my nails done before. When we were cutting the nails down to a good size, they were way too long and everytime i told him to go shorter, he'd give me this "go to hell" look and act kind of frustrated. He kept the square tip cut and wouldn't make it pointy because it was "too short". My nails are so long, this is when i would remove them. Last at the end when it was time for the color, i told the guy that if i could't get the grey, then i wanted the same color as my toes. He ignored me and told me to go get a color. He did not put the color from my pedicure back, so i had to choose a different one. I ended up going with a purple that came out way to dark. Last, i sat at the nail dryer/uv light for 10 minutes and it would have been longer because the guy never set a timer or came back to check if they were done. I should have just had the pedicure and left. The pedicure was amazing. The rest of it was horrible! I almost cried in the bar. I am not very good around strangers, but one who acts and tells me things like that guy did is inexcusable. I may not be returning, and if i do it won't be for my fingers. Read Less

I got my nails done for the first time at venus nails yesterday. My experience was 10/10. The employees and owner are so polite and nice. When I came in I was immediately asked how I could be helped. I was a walk-in and it was very busy but they were still happy to help. Due to it being very busy, my wait time was about 20 minutes but it wasn't bad at all. They were very patient and made sure i was happy. They repeatedly told me that they wanted me to be happy with my nails and they were glad to make any changes. I didn't like the color I chose, and they actually redid the whole manicure. I was so pleased with my experience here. It was 45$ for dip manicure. I recommend going here. Read Less

I tried out this nail salon today in the hopes of finding my go to in Lubbock. I went for just a basic pedicure and a dip-powder acrylic nail set. The pedicure was well worth the reasonable $35 (this is as low as the price goes for pedicures for their menu, FYI). I chose the lavender scrub and the owner, Kim - who did the pedicure, was very meticulous and sweet...easily my favorite nail person I've ever had.Then, to the not so good. I have very small hands and nails so I understand it takes a lot more effort to do them. I was taken care of by a male worker in the salon who I never got the name of. In summary, my nails were done precisely the way I chose and all that jazz. BUT I had at least 4 fingers that could not stop bleeding from my cuticles being cut so deep. One finger was actually oozing blood as the nail technician repeatedly apologized as he tried to stop the bleeding with pressure and nail glue (btw: wtf???). It just so happened around this time it began to become super busy. Instead of perhaps giving me a discount or checking on my hands, he just apologized and moved to the next guest as I grudingly paid and left. So why did I still give it such a high rating?The owner, Kim, is absolutely amazing. I ended up requesting a full refund from how sensitive, scratchy, and swollen my fingers that were cut had become. It's nothing crazy and I know every tool they used was clean, but I wasn't willing to pay $40 for that kind of fingernail work. Kim recognized this and was actually going to reach out to me after the rush had passed to come back in.She gave me a full refund and was so sweet/apologetic. I've had some terrible nail experiences where nail technicians pretended to not even know me. Kim was so kind, sweet, and genuinely apologetic. All and all, the experience was about 60/40. The pedicure was fantastic by Kim. The ambience was clean. Decent nail selection plus a free refreshment. My dip-nails are looking better now that the swelling has gone down and the technician actually did some decent work besides the 'Cuticle Crisis'. Honestly, in all businesses mistakes are made. It happens. I just so happened to be the person it happened to. But what matters is how the mistake is dealt with and Kim really blew me away with her kindness. Legit love this place. I think I found my nail salon in Lubbock! After moving here from Plano, I have been on a search for a nail salon I can go to permanently and I think this is it! I got a mani pedi and absolutely loved every bit of it. They have a huge selection of complimentary drinks and different pedi services ranging from $35-$70. I got a $35 vanilla latte pedi and it was heavenly. Worth every penny. And my nails were done sooooo perfectly. My cuticles are clean, the paint is coated evenly, and my hands are super soft. If I could give no stars I would. Got a balance on Thursday, so much acrylic under nails, polish had chips and black spots on white French and a lifted nail by Friday, also could feel where they added acrylic bc they didn't buff them out smooth. Call Friday to call and ask for a refund she says come in and I'll fix it, really didn't want that bc I already wasted 1.5 hrs but I went back Saturday bc they wouldn't refund me and manager fix them and adds gel polish she says. Well it's now Sunday and I have 4 nails with chunks of missing polish already, I usually get a balance every 2-3 wks and can't get this places polish to last 1 day. Read Less

Got a gel pedicure Thursday Sept. 14th and the polish fell off two toes by the time I got home, despite wearing flip flops and not bumping my toes on anything. For 50 dollars I would expect it to stay on longer, usually gel pedicures last over a month. My toe nails were also very sloppily done and bumpy. The man doing my nails not only complained about my choice in nail shape to multiple other co-workers ( and laughed about it) but rushed through doing my nails and doing a horrible job at shaping and balancing them correctly, also the prices were extremely outrageous for such a poorly done job. I was actually at another nail salon, waiting to be seated, when I looked his one up on yelp and walked out and drove here! As soon as I walked in, I was asked what I needed done and the male owner got me in immediately! (I only needed a fill and my toes painted cause I was in a rush.) The owner did my fill VERY QUICKLY and they look amazing! Once finished, the owners daughter actually did my toes and was very sweet and made great conversation. The interior is very spa-like, which I enjoy. Fairly new. Huge selection of colors to pick from. Offers beverages, many wine choices. Also offers 10% student discount(!!). I think I have found my new go to nail salon, and lucky it was on the first try! I came in around 6:15 in a Tuesday night and the were more than happy to do both dip nails and a pedicure with shellac even though they closed at 7:30. The place is super clean and modern looking, with relaxing music playing in the back ground. As soon as i sat down i was offered something to drink and given the salon menu. They had plenty of shellac and dip colors to chose from. My pedicure was excellent, I chose the vanilla latte and it smelled wonderful. He (wish I would have got then man's name, as he was very good) even did my shellac polish before all the lotion to make sure the shellac would adhere well to my toe nails!   When removing my current set of dip nails, he barely filed off the shiny top layer (most places over do the drilling and end up hurting me) and allowed them to fully soak off on foil while he finished up my pedicure. I love this because everywhere else I have ever been tries to drill off the product and it ruins my nails. When putting on the new set he even made the comment that the previous place had drilled to deep on my nails, which is true. I'm glad that they pay attention and do there best not to damage your natural nails. When doing the new set he really took his time to make sure the shape and length were what I wanted. He also did the dip very thin so it would look more natural because of the color I chose, but they reassured me if I had any problems with them that I could come back and get it fixed.   The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is price. They are a tad bit more expensive than what I am use to back home but they seem to be in line on price with the other salons I checked with around town.  Overall this is a great nail salon and I look foward to going back, and am also relieved that I don't have to hunt for a nail salon after finding this place! So sad to see my daughters nails for recruitment week. I paid $105 for mani pedi and expected a better job than this. I'm sure the young man that did this manicure is not proud of his work but yet he still allowed her to leave knowing she was to be embarrassed to confront him. I'm also aware that there were plenty of other nail technicians waking around watching what he was doing and didn't step in to help him out.
