My friend & I went to get our nails done Saturday around 1:30 & didn’t leave until around 3:30. We both got full set acrylics, shellac & as soon as I get into the car my nail & paint chips! The person who did my friends nails was rude. Her nail polish had peeled off on several nails, & the next day (Sunday) she went to get them fixed, he took off all nail polish & re did them. And now Monday two of her nails again, chipped & peeled. Would not recommend this place to anyone Read Less

I have never paid $70 for a pedicure that was not top notch. I got maybe 20 minutes of massage. I left with paint all over my feet. The pedastool that you put your feet on was so narrow I Had to sit sideways to get my nails painted. She kept hitting my wet nails with the dryer and smudging them and say sorry and not fix it until I told her. I was there for 45 minutes total. I only tried this place because we moved and it is 2 minutes from the house. Never AGAIN!! I will always go back to my regular salon. Read Less

I'm pretty sure the lady told me I needed to tip more and tried to charge an extra 5 to add length. I believe that the plastic nail to add length should be included. But I told her i was leaving and she basically played it off so I stayed bc I didn't have time to go anywhere else. I should have just waited. But ya they weren't busy and I know why now. Oh and I tipped 5 dollars for a $40 service. Not sure if that was worth losing a customer over.Read Less

Tara knows what she is doing. She really took excellent care of me, listened to the kind of nail I needed (because I use my hands so much for work) and gave me exactly that. She was so attentive and kind, I even took my daughter to see her. My little girl has a nail biting problem that leaves her nails below the nail bed line. Tara fixed her up, gave her tips and a dip, and protected her nails. Now my daughter no longer bites her nails, and the nails are growing. My daughter is actually begging me, at this minute to take her back in. So off I go.... Read Less

This makes me very sad. I have been going to Crystal's for over two years. It's close to my house, everyone there would take their time and do the best work on my nails, and the pedicures were the longest, most relaxing thing ever! Something changed. I've noticed a change in the technicians. My favorite people were no longer there. Today was the last straw...I paid EXTRA for a pedicure that lasted 15, maybe 20 minutes. The technician sped through everything so fast, my paraffin wax didn't even solidify. My toenails look like they were painted by 6-year-old me. There is paint on my skin, some toenails are barely covered, and some have so much paint on them that they're melting. After my pedicure I sat for 30 minutes with my fingers soaking, waiting for someone to show up at the table to do my nails. They finally transferred me to another technician because my guy bailed. I am beyond angry. It is ridiculous to pay so much for horrible service. I am also sad about the downturn in quality. It really was a great place at one time, but now I will have to find somewhere else to go. I Read Less

I've been a customer here for nearly a year. I liked the salon because it's dark and QUIET.Fast forward to last Saturday. I went in to spend a $50 gift card my husband bought me for Mother's Day. This is no different than usual except that, instead of a handwritten paper gift certificate, they had transitioned to gift cards. I had a pedi. No problems until I went to pay. They told me the card had a $0 balance. I told them there was a mistake. I was able to show them a receipt and bank transaction for the $50 debit to their salon. I spoke with Krystal and she pulled up the transaction in their system. She was able to verify the purchase but also stated there was a $40 use on the card the same day. While my receipt showed the date/time stamp of when we paid the $50, she was unable to pull up the date/time for both transactions in her system (the credit and debit) so we could investigate how close in times the debit and credit were. I figured this would show her that there was some type of clerical error I tried telling her I hadn't been in for several months and what she's saying would've left a $10 balance on the card vs the $0 they stated earlier. Obviously there was an issue with the transaction, but the fact still remained that we had paid $50 for the card. I went ahead and paid via another method because Krystal kept telling me they couldn't verify I didn't spend the card and I was assured by Krystal (who identified herself as the owner) that she would contact me after she was able to contact the company who sold her her system. (Never mind the fact that I could prove we bought the card, and if they really wanted to, they could prove I did not spend the card. They have cameras.) I came home and informed my husband about the issue and he stated when he bought the card, there were 3 really confused people trying to ring it up. Monday rolls around and I still had not been contacted by lunchtime so my husband went to sort it out. He was told Krystal wasn't there so he came back at 4pm. When he arrived, Krystal was doing someone's nails and saw that he was there, but she never got up to speak with him. They had already credited his original form of payment and sent him on his way. No apology. No promised callback.I'm very disappointed with the lack of service here. They have a sign by their door that explains why they no longer take checks. It basically states how often they've had customers write them bad checks. Well, it's a shame they aren't taking care of the customers who are willing to actually pay for their services. A simple apology and follow up would've corrected this issue. Instead, I was embarrassed and inconvenienced due to their inability to work their computer system. I will not return. Read Less

I really loved this salon when it first opened. I like the dimly lit pedicure room, the soft music and NO TV noise. As this salon has grown the service has suffered. I don't mind spending $60-$70 for a great pedicure, but to be hustled through with a half-way job is no good. I hope they will read these reviews and work on their service. Read Less

My family and I used to go to Crystal's all the time. We got to know the employees and the owners pretty well. We knew their names and what was going on in their home lives.The last time we went to get a pedicure the prices had gone up, and it appeared so they could get more of a profit. That's no big deal. I understand that they would want to make a few more dollars. Wouldn't we all? The problem began when we got a pedicure at the higher price, but we had no lotion rubbed in. When we asked why we weren't given lotion they explained that they no longer did lotion on the regular/classic pedicures. Which means, in addition to the extra money I spent on the callus treatment, I would have to pay extra to have lotion rubbed on my legs. I don't mind paying the higher price, but I want the same quality service that I got before the price was changed. I want to have the same pedicure that I had before. I also got a manicure and when I asked for white dipping powder, so I would have a white nail, I ended up with a light pink. After my first nail was done the worker knew the mistake, and instead of asking if I wanted to remain with that color or choose something else he kept going. Another customer had chosen the same color and the worker told another employee that the nail color was not white, so the other customer was allowed to choose another color. I was so disappointed in what happened with both the pedicure and the manicure. We loved going to Crystal's, but after the mistakes and the long wait time (even if you made an appointment) enough was enough. I highly doubt we will return to Crystals at the 98th location or at their new location on 66th and Milwaukee (when it is built). When you pay over $100 for pedicure and manicure, you should be allowed to go home feeling satisfied and relaxed, and enjoying your new nail color(s). When they first opened it was very much customer oriented, but now the feeling is more money oriented. Read Less

Me and my daughter went to have our nails done this evening. It was awful! I told them we both wanted nails. They did my daughter's nails first. They worked on 3 others and I was completely ignored. When they finished my daughter, I said now can I get my nails done? A different man did my nails. He used a dirty towel from the previous person. The towel was wet. i felt is was very unclean. Our nails are horrible. My daughters are all different sizes and shapes. Mine were suppose to be short and round. They are long and square. I was quoted one price and charged another price. This makes me very sad. I have been going to Crystal's for over two years. It's close to my house, everyone there would take their time and do the best work on my nails, and the pedicures were the longest, most relaxing thing ever! Something changed. I've been a customer here for nearly a year. I liked the salon because it's dark and QUIET.Fast forward to last Saturday. I went in to spend a $50 gift card my husband bought me for Mother's Day.
