This place is ALWAYS booked. I have called ahead several times, and called before and tried as a walk-in. They should consider hiring more staff, or leasing a larger facility if the finances permit. They are quite popular and have talented great nail techs for very affordable prices so getting a larger staff would be helpful in getting even more clients in as appt. or walk-in. I've used this place for years, I've always been a loyal customer. However, I've moved about 40 minutes away.. and they have no consideration for others time. This is the second time it has happened to me; I drive all the way from home (again, 40 minutes) and they decide they want to close for the day... without no warning or anything. I've called for three days straight trying to set an appointment to no avail. THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. Granted the prices are great but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I walked in because i wasn't able to set an appointment ( you need an appointment to be seen ) and the receptionist claimed they've been busy so they couldn't answer when I mentioned the fact that I've been calling for days for an appointment. This is literally the worst place, called for 2 days straight wanting to book an appointment only to receive no answer. I decided to come as soon as they opened hoping they would be able to squeeze me in. Their hours both at the store and on their instagram claim to open at 10:30A but I had to wait a whole HOUR simply for them to open late and turn me away because I had no appointment. I only come here because of the price difference between the other salons near me but the job is never well done. I either walk out with uneven nails or bleeding cuticles. Last straw. Read Less

Talented yes, but friendly... not at all!!! I have experienced the worst customer service the last time I went to this establishment. I wanted an appointment with Kat or Jimmy after hearing good things. So I came in for my appointment with Kat, without saying anything to me she asked Jimmy to do my nails... which I was fine with. Once I told him what I wanted he suggested in a very rude way that "I'm too picky" and asked me in a mocking manner to let him know what he needed to fix on my nails, "you know more than me" - his words. I wanted to leave because I felt so insulted. I have many friends that go here but after this... we won't be back. I would rather pay more and receive better customer service than go back here. There are tons of places in Dallas with amazing customer service, competitive prices, CLEANLINESS, and talented nails technicians. I called last week made me and my daughter appointments for manicure and pedicure the guy that wrote my appointment down did not put down for the ped!!! Soooo I ask him why he didn't put it down then Jimmy butts into the conversation and tells me I didn't or he would have wrote it down. So Im thinking you didn't hear the conversation so he doesn't know either way so Jimmy proceeds on doing my nails and cut my finger with the file as well as my last visit and ask me if I'm unhappy And I said yes he said I was mean. I'm convinced this establishment doesn't believe in customer service. Upon entering X Nails with my friend we were not greeted or even acknowledged. There were no seats to wait so we sat at the table to dry nails. Idk if it was the salon or lack of customer service but several ppl looked at us including nail techs. we became inpatient and asked what was the wait time for a pedicure. The man asked did we have an appointment and we responded no asking if we needed one he told us yes. We left furious, but not before my friend told him they needed to develop some customer service skills. I only came to this location because my friend was recommended. First time going to this salon this morning, I live 45 minutes away and left early so I could get in there before work. I arrived at 10:20 & they open at 10:30. I waited until 11:15 and the doors were still not open or a single person in sight. It's a Friday morning so the inconvience was highly irritable. Yalls prices may be cheap, but if I had to wait 45 minutes past opening time &others was still nobody there, I could just imagine what the service would be like. I like this place... When we first got their it was hot and it was bcuz their a/c went out that day.. It was hot and had to wait about 30 min even doe I had app at 6:30...but service was great; the guy that did my nails was very nice and polite; he noticed i said my phone was about to die to my sister and generously asked if i wanted to charge it; & he had a little fan facing towards me because he saw it was hot; after all I had a great service and my nails came out how i asked... It makes me pretty annoyed I can't go to this place anymore because of the disrespect of the employees. I guess only if we are a favorite customer do we get to have great service. It doesn't matter how much money you spend, if you make any appointment, if you book with Kat, etc... You will still get treated bad and will still be leaving disappointed thinking "why did I just pay $100 to get treated the way I did". Maybe prices there are cheaper but remember my darlings that often times you get what you pay for. I'm a very patient and kind person and I've never left a salon so upset. After all the reviews I was very skeptical but since my Lil Cousin was treating me and this is her favorite spot I decided to be open minded and just try it. They well more respectful than I originally heard about. Lindsey did my nail and I must say I was very impressed with her. Do not go to this place! They have the worse service ever. You always have to make an  appointment to get the person you want, and once you show up, no one great you, expect to wait at least 30mns . Your set will look fly AF walking out of here. You can bring a picture off instagram (the salon's handle is xxcelentnails407) and they WILL do it for you. This is a refreshing change from what most salons do, which is to either say they can't do something fairly simple (like Coffin shaping or leopard print design) OR they will say they can do it but 2 hours and 50 bucks later your nails look a hot mess.The "X" could also stand for not to "Xpect" luxury or even normal nail salon services. No cuticle care. Zero. None. Get your manicure somewhere else. You will not have your hands dipped in parrafin or massaged with lotion here. You will not be offered a glass of white wine. They do not offer waxing. They do not accept tips on credit card. Don't go here! They take appointments but still allow walk-ins. You will wait for hours! Also, the salon itself is filthy!! Everything on the walks needs serious dusting and the salon itself need a serious cleaning! The girl who did mine was Jen and she did them so fast that she cut every cuticle! Also, Kat the one who owns it and sits in front has a major attitude and is just plain rude! I went somewhere else and they said my nails looked liked a 3rd grader did because they were so thick. This place is a joke. Do not waste your time or money here. I found this place and loved it at first because of the cheap prices but everything about this place is cheap. They have TERRIBLE customer service. I have seen them tell people to leave their store. After being a customer for two years getting acrylic nails only one of the technicians would even acknowledge that he remembered me. I work in the service industry and would never complain and always tipped well. Even when making appointments I would have to wait up to an hour to get in a chair and then they would work on my nails and someone else's at the same time. Recently I had a problem with a gel manicure. After a week most of the nails had completely fallen off! I called up there and explained I have been a customer there for two years and I am not happy and am willing to get and pay for a new set but would like some sort of discount and they told me there is nothing they can do. I've been to this place a couple times just because it was cheep for acrylics. This time I went I got acrylics, and a pedicure. When the lady was doing my nails she used the little thing to even out my nails & to take off my cuticles. But she got a little rough & too close to my skin. She continued to do my nails and after she was finished with the acrylic & color, she did more of the evening out of my nail. She again got way to close to my skin. & I am bleeding on almost every finger. She made slits in my skin because she got too close to my skin. A different lady that did my toes, made me bleed also on one toe. & the scrub they put on your legs, she didn't get all the way off. My leg were still greasy & nasty feeling after. Read Less

Went based off a friends recommendation. I also followed their I Instagram page and saw some designs I liked, and saw the reoccurring name "Kat" in comments about how good she is. I just so happened to get her this afternoon. I had three nails that needed to be fixed and I wanted a polish change and a ghost or something for Halloween. She really seemed to hate her job and had to remove some previous diamonds I had on so you would think she would ask if I wanted more or any designs. Not the case. I guess I got what I paid for because it was only $10 and there's a bunch of bubbles in the polish and one of the nails she repaired isn't even set down right. I wasn't gonna be ugly though I tipped anyway and left. Would rather spend a little more at q place with margaritas that takes their time and asks me if I need my upper lip waxed. Read Less

I have seen on Instagram, how unique this salon is. And was planning on coming here to get my nails done for prom. So I made an appointment with Kat. As some of my friends say she is amazing nail stylist. As I made my appointment and everything. The day I was going to get them done, I went in and saw 7 costumers waiting and I thinking to myself, "I'm so glad I made appointment." And a lady attending a costumer, who I assume was Kat, in a rude manner, what I wanted. I told her I had an appointment and yada, yada. After I explained, she didn't respond and went back to doing her work. I waited and hour, and realized all SEVEN costumers had the same appointment with her. And she didn't seem to try to apologize for the mistake or let us know what her plan was to do with all of us. This place was recommended by several people on a local Facebook page so I looked them up and found their Facebook page. Cool nail art.....I've been wanting some nail art done. It seems that many people bring pics from Pintrest and this place does it on your nails. I called and made an appointment.There was nothing special about any part of my visit. The guy who did my nails was just going through the motions. I didn't know exactly what I wanted for nail art and it irritated him. My shellac gel manicure did not even last one week before it started chipping. I'm used to going three weeks with no chips and I get manicures done in many different cities.
