I faithfully would come here every two weeks to do a complete manicure pedicure and eyebrows and never had any issues. I had my nails done two days ago and two of them fell off and broke. I went in to have them fixed and they have the audacity to charge me yo fix them. I explained to them that this was not something I did and I thought they would fix them. Same complaints as many others: Not upfront about prices, way too expensive for a nail shop that looks like trash, painted on my skin and didn't even bother to clean it up, service felt rushed, THEY DON'T SANITIZE THEIR TOOLS, cut my skin and caused me to bleed, horrible color selection... I've been going here for a few years for mani/pedi's, and have been pleased with their services. However, recently the quality has definitely gone down. The pedicure tubs, I feel, aren't cleaned properly and same with the nail equipment they use. The staff is nice but seem to always talk in their native language which kind of makes it seem like they're talking about you. The best in SB! It's the only local place my mom will go to, and she turned my sisters and I onto this awesome place. Our most recent pedicures (7/5/17) were done by Luat and Kate, total perfection! I ended up tripping on the way into my car, and Weston set up an appointment for me to come get them fixed up the next day. QT took care of me, and he basically just gave me a whole new set of polish all over again for each toe - free of charge! The nail crew there realllly know w...hat they're doing. I've been to a few other nail salons, and none of them have the heart that Aqua does. This salon really takes the time to satisfy the individual customer. Honestly, I feel like if I have a bad day I would just give them a call, because talking with Weston totally makes my day! My boyfriend and his little sister went the other day, they don't know anything about nails salons so when they went in to get pedicures my boyfriend asked for the menu so he could see which one he wanted, the lady automatically told him that it was 37$! And that's for the deluxe pedicure! My boyfriend wanted the basic pedicure done on both him and his little sister! They try to get over on everyone I guess! We will not be returning. Probably one of the worse nail shops in my opinion. My nails only last week. despite the increase price ($45-50 for full set) Ive been here twice and hated my nails both times. I really like this place. You do have to be careful if you only want the $20 pedi because they really do try to keep adding on $5 more. Do you want sea salt, wax, etc. But the pedicures are great and I've paid for gel polish others places and it comes off in a day or two. When I get it done here it lasts two weeks. They insisted on doing nails their way, as opposed listening to the customers requests. As a result I had to come back the next day to get my nails fixed. This is hands down my favorite nail salon in Santa Barbara! As a cosmetology instructor at SBCC, it is hard going to a a nail salon and trust the cleanliness. (tl;dr fungus) A FEW MONTHS AGO, I HAD A REPUGNANT AND HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE! I was getting my nails done as a powder manicure. It was overpriced (around 45-50 dollars) but the nails did LOOK lovely. There was just one problem...When my first nail came off, there was a black mark on it like I had never seen before. It turned out to be FUNGUS. I've never had nail fungus until I had my nails done here. Not just FUNGUS but BLACK FUNGUS!So when I came back to LA Nails to show them the infection... they said "dont worry", and they conned me into getting another manicure, saying that the nail treatment they would give me before they put on the nails would kill the fungus. They charged me for an entire NEW set of nails instead of refills even though only one nail was missing and even though they SCREWED UP.CHEAP AND REMORSELESSAnyhow, I kept on those fingernails and I came to another nail salon and showed them an old nail that had fallen off and the nails they had done for me.The nail lady said that I got the fungal infection because whoever did the manicure (LA NAILS) did not seal the nail properly, thus making them a breeding ground rife for fungal proliferation!and when those old nails came off I had ALL OF MY NAILS INFECTED WITH FUNGUS. Some of them BLACK. Some Dark Green... Some Yellow. ALL OF IT TERRIBLE AND TERRIFYINGIt was a huge embarassment anywhere I went.... and LA NAILS did not care... they just gave me a couple dollars off a new nail set that SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REFILL PRICE ANYWAYS... But really, LA NAILS owes me much more. I even contemplated suing, but I am just a student and do not have a lot of money or time. I am a regular at Citrus nail spa,  went to L.A. Nails off 646 this time. From the moment my friend and I stepped inside it was so cramped and loud with lots of yelling. While trying to pick a color the man that was going to do my nails came to me telling me to hurry and sit at 10. I had barely started looking at the colors but he was already swiftly walking off so I followed. He started ripping off my nails with no soaking, drilling,  anything. ..it hurt.  I asked him to please soak the other hand at least while working on the other.  He ignored me. I tried to forget about it and chat with my friend to distract myself.  Once I cringed in pain a few more times my friends says to him "would you soak them for her? ". He sighs and begins talking in his language to the lady next to him. ..I can only assume regarding me. At this point I felt so uncomfortable, then he sighs as he goes to roll back and get up. I was concerned that they were in too much of a hurry to do a good job and now he's already upset with me so I decided to take my money elsewhere so they can spend their time on someone else. Only having been there maybe 10 minutes,  we were walking out unsatisfied when the same man that greeted us, told us thank you then went back to yelling on the phone in a language other than English. .....Citrus was so fantastic. ..instant smiles! This is the only nail salon I will spend my money at on this side of town. I started coming here when I moved back to the area in 2014 and haven't stopped. I've tried other places but I prefer this salon. They have a wide array of color powders, shellac colors, and gel colors. They also offer many beauty services as well. My preferred techs are Helen, Mila, and Megan. All the techs are cross-trained which saves a lot of time if you need more than one service. Read Less

I'll just start this off by saying, terrible service. I was grossed out the entire time I was getting a pedicure and a refill. Not to mention the technician had her bare feet propped up on my pedicure chair bowl!!! GROSSS!!!! The staff was extremely rude. I asked her to be a little gentle when she filed my nails, she literally told me "just not to look at her" and continued to laugh and joke with the other technician. I was trying to have a nice and relaxing pedicure (which my lady told me to do) yet it was very difficult when they kept laughing and joking so loud with every staff member there. My friend and I had the most horrific experience here. A manicure/pedicure took two hours which was blamed on my gel polish being too hard to remove. On top of that my friend wasn't happy with her manicure and learnt that her credit card had been charged without asking her. She spoke to the owner who was incredibly rude. Is there  "0" star? They rushed the entire time. My toes were messed up with they put my shoes on. They on touched up my toes. My refill well.. Nails look totally different and didn't check to see if there was dust on nail before they put top coat on. What a joke of a salon. You are suppose to feel relaxed. That didn't happen here. dirty dirty dirty.when you first walk in there is a sign saying "no pictures!" that's should of been a warning sign. there tools are dirty and don't sanitize between customers there is day,and weeks of very obvious build up. i will never go back here even if i could stand the disgusting atmosphere the people that do the nails are very bad at it.they tried to leave it far from my cuticle and said i needed a refill once a week, needless to say i requested a second person to finish and still it's just bad quality. I've been getting my nails done here for over a year.  For basic white powder Acrylic nails, its $28.00 with gel coat it makes it $31.00 total.  They are clean, friendly, and quick.  Their Pedi's are ok.  If you get the cheaper pedi.  It's not much to it and the polish doesn't last very long.  I have never had to wait.  They only expect Visa & MasterCard.  They prefer you pay your tips in cash.
