This place was ok at best. I got a gel mani and a pedicure, which they did at the same time. My nails grow quickly normally, plus I'm taking prenatals, so I asked for my nails to be cut short. The lady told me I shouldn't cut them because I wanted a design on one nail. I politely insisted they be cut, and showed her the picture of the design on someone with short nails. She just rolled her eyes at me. She did the design, which was a V in a different color and I decided I didn't like it. I asked her to wipe it off and just leave my nails as they were. She proceeded to wipe the shine off of my nails and do shiny tips, without asking. Once I realized what she was doing, I asked her to stop and just leave the color alone. She sighed heavily, told me that I should have listened to her about not cutting my nails, and said something to the nail tech next to her, who then came over to look at my nails and shook her head. I don't need to understand what she said to know it was something about me. My nails look fine, but I won't come back just because of the service. Read Less

Recently changed ownership. They seem eager to please, but it's more gimmicky than before, Facebook specials, punch cards, etc. I liked the simplicity of Kay's shop. Quality of service just depends on which nail tech you get, like everywhere else. For the most part, I can communicate my preferences and get consistent 4 star results. They used to have HGTV, Golf, and football on the TVs, and it was AMAZING, but now that Kay is gone, they play some commercial video for their products on an endless loop. Hard to watch that over and over and over. Please bring back the good TV channels!! Read Less

I was in the Dallas area for Thanksgiving and we stopped by this salon. The services were great.  They were able to accommodate a large group without a prior appointment.  Really really enjoyed their Signature pedi with the natural products.  It has been over one week and we still can feel the difference in our skin from the natural products that they used.  Excellent service, excellent products. I highly recommend Kay Nails! Kay usually does my nails and she's an expert at dip (powder). My nails last a week longer than other places I've been to. I've even had French manicure dips, which apparently is a difficult skill and they looked perfect. The place is very clean and beautiful. Prices are comparable to other nail salons. Dips are usually $40. Definitely ask for Kay for dips! She never disappoints. Read Less

My tolerance level is high and I'm usually an easy going person. That being said, it irks me that I have to even give this place ONE star. I was hoping to find an awesome nail salon that my office girls and I could go to during our lunch hour. The hunt is still on! Being Asian, I've never experienced being talked about right in front of my face in my own native language. Why? Because as every Asian person knows, if you're not sure which ethnicity a person is, you tactfully ASK. You DON'T 1. Remark on how ugly her nail is. 2. Make a snide remark about her weight 3. Criticize the color she selected 4. Comment on how difficult you think her friend is going to be about her nails 5. Say inappropriate, off-color jokes to your co-worker. Did I like my nails? Ehhhh. It wasn't what I envisioned but it wasn't bad and it was my color choices. Did I let them know that I know their language? Hell yeah! Will I ever come back or recommend this place? Ha! Nah. I really, really love this place! I've been coming since they opened and have not been disappointed! I was looking for a place in this area since we moved here over 2 years ago & I finally found my new spot! The entire staff at Kay Nails is so sweet and very accommodating.  They recognize me when I walk in, know what I'm drinking & that I always get the dipping powder. (PS I highly recommend the dip!) Today was my first time here and I will definitely be back. I got the signature pedicure ($35) and that included all the normal pedicure stuff like trimming, cutting, heel scrubbing, painting etc .... plus parrafin wax, hot towels, and a 10 minute massage. BUT this was the first time in my many years of getting pedicures that I actually enjoyed the foot/ leg massage I was given. Usually it seems like they rush through that part in a hurry and it's not at all relaxing - but this massage was actually enjoyable. Score! In addition to that - they didn't cut my nails too short. Don't you hate when that happens? Me too. Not here though. :)This is the most important thing though - they are CLEAN. Before she filled the water basin up with water, she put a plastic liner in the basin and turned on the water. I saw her remove the tools from a sealed plastic bag. And I saw them scrubbing down the work areas. I definitely appreciate that... last thing I need is some toe nail fungus from someone's skanky feet. ;)The atmosphere is also pleasant - they have lots of chairs!! They also have a good polish selection. At the checkout, the manager asked me about my experience and seemed to geuinely care that I was happy. I recommend them for sure :) Read Less

Great new salon! I decided to give this place a try after the other place I had been going to started to decline in quality. This place is awesome!! The ambience is very nice. They do excellent, quality job on both manicures and pedicures. The owners/workers at the desk are very nice and very nice to their employees.
