I had to go back the next day, after getting my nails done to get my nails fixed cause they were messing up already. The guy tried to blame it on the City of Lake Jackson and the cities "lighting problem." I was there visiting. My first visit to this salon. The atmosphere was decorated lovely.  I got a Hawaiian pedicure. Kaitlin was excellent she found all my problems her massage was excellent and her polish flawless.  The massage chairs worked.   I have been So disappointed lately trying other salons on my travels but this place by far was great and relaxing. I brought my Grandmother, Mom and niece to get manicures for mothers day. The service was borderline okay. The manicurists are not friendly, nor do they make you feel welcomed. We all got regular manicures, even though we were all consistently pressed to get shellac (which is damaging to your nail). When we left, they tried to deny the 10% coupon they have here on yelp, but did eventually honor it. They also charged full price to paint my 8 year old nieces fingers....just paint them. Now, three days later, my color has chipped away. It typically takes about 1-2 weeks for my nails to chip with regular polish. For the life of me, I can't recall if they even did a top coat. I will never step foot in this place again, myself. And had my Grandmother not been there, I wouldn't have left quietly. Read Less

Awesome service!  (Felt like a VIP!) I was served mimosa and had the works (...fill with shellac and the best pedi in milk!) I have been going to Expert Nails since they opened, and will continue to go. I never had a problem with anyone at the salon even with the previous management. Since the nail salon is now under new management and is now called Expert Nails and Lounge by Danny it has changed greatly, in a very good way. Everyone at the salon from the management to the nail technicians are so friendly and accommodating. As soon as you walk in you will be greeted with a smile, no matter who is working at the front. 2/9/2017: Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and kind... and thank you Nina for a great mani and pedi!1/20/2017:  After receiving a personal message and Yelp friend invite from Danny regarding the changes at Expert Nails, I decided to give them another try. I had only been to this salon once and that was over two years ago. It didn't wow me, so I just never went back.I arrived late in the day and the salon was clean, which is very important. I noticed there are big screen TVs to watch and a few really pretty objects in the space that let you know they want it to be aesthetically pleasing to the customers. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. One of my favorite nail tech's from another salon is now working here and she came to say hello. She was available to do my nails and that made me very happy. After being seated in the Pedicure massage chair I was thinking that this place has a lot of Pedicure chairs so this would be a great place for a group outing or special occasion event. Before beginning my pedi, Nina offered me a drink. They have a variety of options. I opted for bottled water, which was really cold and just what I needed.Nina took her time on my Pedicure. She is very sweet and gentle. It was so relaxing I felt like I could go to sleep! About 1/2 way through she put the acetone on my fingernails via the standard pieces of cotton, then wrapping them in foil while she finished my pedi. After my toes were all pretty and perfect, she began my manicure by removing the old shellac and reapplying the new polish. One thing I really appreciate is being asked if I want my nails trimmed, rather than just assuming, which Nina did. I always want my toenails cut because I run and I can't have them touching my running shoes, that drives me nuts. However, I like my fingernails to have a little length. They are shorter than normal right now, which would lead a nail tech to think I keep them short. Always asking before starting to cut is big in my book! Nina remembered some trips I had taken last year and asked about my friends who went with me. She talked to me about things that had been happening in her life since I last saw her and shared some plans she has for her future. She is very personable.When I was ready to leave I used the 10% discount on the Yelp app that came up when I checked in, which was a nice surprise and really appreciated. I was also given a card that they will stamp at each visit and I will save $5 on my 5th and 10th visits and then a free regular Pedicure on my 15th. I love the card and appreciate the discounts!All in all it was a good visit and I will go back.It is my understanding this business was suffering from bad reviews under previous management. They want to try and clean up their reputation. I wish them all the best and will give them my support as long as I get good, friendly service in a nice environment and do not feel that my nail tech is so rushed she cannot relax and pay attention to her customers appropriately. This is the only place I go to in this area. I take my diabetic mother too and we have NEVER had problems. We both are very picky and this is the only place we like. Service is excellent and we have never had problems. Yes sometimes they have "off days" but if you ask for a drink when they forget to ask you, they will give you one (duh). I've never been burned or cut or anything here, and neither has my mother. We both get the upper pedicures too and I'm always getting my nails done. Not my usual salon and now I know why. Paid for an upgraded pedicure because my feet were a mess from summer barefoot and beach. Left with loose skin still on my feet AFTER I pointed out where she has missed. The massage was almost non exsistent.  And they only applied one coat of polish to the nail. Service is inconsistent. I have occasionally gotten some good people who know what they're doing. The last time I went I got someone who was obviously poorly trained. He put ice in my red wine and it went down hill from there. I purchased the pearl spa cure at $55. It's the most expensive option. He was rough when cutting my nails and too aggressive with my cuticles. I let him know it was hurting, but he went to the next one and ended up hurting both big toes. They even bled. The sugar scrub is my favorite part, but he rushed it and it was over before I knew it. Really every step of the way he handled me like he'd rather be doing something else and he just wanted to get it over with. When he wrapped my legs with the towels they were too hot and burned me. He didn't even check they were okay before wrapping them. When he got to the neck message, it was about four and a half minutes of chopping with thirty seconds of kneading. He spoke very little English and though I showed him the exact color, he brought me the wrong shade. Due to lighting I couldn't tell until afterward. He wasn't able to do this design, he got someone else. I had to ask her to clean around my nails where he got outside the lines, as he didn't do it. I did not leave this experience feeling pampered. I'm pretty sure he talked about me the whole time. To call him unprofessional would be an understatement. No part of the experience was enjoyable.My big toes were immediately sore and by the time I got home they were throbbing. I was up all night hurting. He definitely cut the cuticles down too low. After reading up on the symptoms, I realize this could become a dangerous infection and I may have to see a pediatrist. I will be spending the week end in bed with my foot elevated and I will have to purchase antibiotic ointment.I called and spoke to the manager. He had to put someone else on the phone because his English wasn't good enough. I asked for a refund and encouraged them to retrain him. They wouldn't give me a refund. They assured me that this is something that happens all the time and it should go away in three days. They did not offer to remedy the situation in any way and did not apologize. They did say they would retrain him. I hope they do because I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. I will never go back. The place is pretty inside but they should improve their hiring and training standards. Read Less

Never ever have I been talk to with such attitude in a nail salon, and trust me I've had a fair share of bad experience at nail salons. When I told D (she wouldn't give me the full name) what I would like my shape and nail color to be she told me I don't need to tell her what to do she's been doing nails for four years, I've been getting my nails done for way over 4 years so I think I have a good idea of what I like and don't like. I felt as if she was purposefully trying to hurt my fingers and cut me bad to the point I was bleeding... She would add 5 dollars any time I would ask if it could be more square or less thick. In the end I was feeling okay with how my nails look, but when I paid I told the manager I only wanted to tip 5 dollars because of the attitude issues. The manager charged my card for 10 dollars as tip thinking I wouldn't notice! I repeated I only wanted to tip then told him why he gave me 5 in cash and I took it back because to me it was the principle and I don't think a lady with such attitude should get any tip at all. This place does a good job painting nails and doing designs but outside of that they are unprofessional, rude and lazy ..... They do a pedicure in about 15 min!   The second time I went (giving them one more chance) I arrived at 6:40 and they told me they close at 7:00 so they wouldn't have time to get me in! I left and went to Tony's day spa right around the corner who also supposedly close at 7:00 and they took me and I got me in and I got a great pedi!  So long "expert" nails ..... You suck! Read Less

My friend and I visited this nail salon last Wednesday morning to get a manicure and pedicure, and I can safely say it was the worst nail experience I’ve ever had. When we came in it wasn’t busy at all, but we weren’t greeted. Instead, a guy walked over and tossed two pads at us with instructions to fill them out and then to pick a color on the wall. We did so and were seated in two pedicure chairs. Starting out, my water was barely warm and my friend and I weren’t offered a beverage. No big deal, I thought, maybe it’s an off day. Nope. The lady doing my toes then whipped out a rotary sander (the one they use for acrylic nails), and started using it to remove my toenail polish!! I asked her what she was doing and she just laughed and put it away. What the heck? At this point, there was also a guy doing my nails. He seemed distracted by something going on in the next room and was NOT paying attention to what he was doing with my nails. He ended up cutting me badly three times with the nipper. I was bleeding pretty badly near my cuticles, but did he seem phased? Nope. Not even a little bit. I honestly don’t know where this guy got his license to do nails or if he even has one at all. He was the worst nail tech I’ve ever had, and I’ve been getting my nails done for 20 years. Every coat he put on my nail was painfully thin, like he was scraping ALL of the polish off of the brush and then trying to apply it to my nail. He put a total of 9 (yes, NINE!! 2 base coat, 5 color, 2 top coat) coats of shellac on each hand and had me under the dryer for 1 minute each time. After the 5th time, my nails began to burn under the dryer. I let him know and he gave me a look like I wasn’t cooperating. Even with all of these coats, I left with polish that you could still see through to my nail bed, I kid you not. When it was finally over, I breathed a sigh of relief, paid, and left with my friend. The end result looked as if a child painted my nails. Hangnails galore, dry skin around the nails, streaky and see-through shellac that felt gummy and rubbery when dry. It was the worst. I say “was” because the shellac had already peeled off 4 days later. If I had to rate this place on a 10-point scale I would give it a -10!! I will never be back and recommend that future patrons AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. That is unless you like to be cut, patronized, and made to feel like an inconvenience. Read Less

I haven't had my nails done in a while, and wanted to find something closer to home.  This place has only been open a year, and I had a pedicure done in Nov. 2014 and was pleased, so I decided to go back for a full set.  Actually, the girl who is a teller where I bank has nice nails, so I asked where she has them done, and she told me here.  I walk in and tell them I'm very picky, so I want someone who's really good.  I'm told that everyone here is good.  So I think for several seconds,and decide to let Madison start my nails.  I told her exactly how I wanted them  - short, square, and with a nude powder.  In my opinion, when you are getting your nails done, all your nails should be of the same length.  I told her I wanted this, so after she cut nails down to my liking, she then matched my fingers up side by side to ensure the length was the same on both hands (I really dislike when a nail tech leaves nails at varying lengths).    I am extremely pleased with the way Madison did my nails.  She even trimmed my cuticle at the end.  I have a picture of my nails after - beautiful!  I will be back to see her and hope the quality of her work continues. Bottom line: don't go here! Don't be fooled by a new business with shiny new furniture and equipment.I called to make an appointment and he said "come now, is 2pm okay?" I said yes, on my way. I arrive at 2:07... The manager said "you late!" And he was irritated and walked off. Great. We have a brief confrontation and he said he never said that. Sure.Pedicure is going well, the girl does a thorough job on my feet. She's pretty meticulous. The problem is with the entire establishment... If I get a foot fungus or hepatitis the thorough pedicure just ain't worth it!I watch 6 people come out of the pedicure chair and none of the pedi bowls are cleaned with disinfectant. While people are still in the chairs, the nail tech washes off their tools and wipes the bowl down with dirty rags from the people's pedicure. ABSOLUTELY NO DISINFECTANT IS USED!!! I watched this six times.Then, I watched 4 people go back into the same chairs, bowls dirty. I asked the nail tech about it, and she has the audacity to tell me the bowls get cleaned with disinfectant every morning. Hello, how about between every client?The conversation starts getting loud and the owner starts yelling at me. He told me I didn't see them clean the bowls bc I wasn't paying attention. He storms off. Don't go here! I've called the health department... Just hope they aren't too busy for an unidentified site visit. Read Less
