I'm relatively new to Killeen and after a few trial and errors at other nail salons, I made this location my new 'home'. With that being said, I have visited *semi* regularly in the past year and never had any issues. Always had quick and friendly service within price range.
At my latest visit I was overcharged and under-served. I did not receive all of the services listed for the pedicure I chose (the paraffin wax + hot towel treatment to be specific) So, basically, I paid an extra $10 for the most basic pedicure.. when I go back and add up all of the services I received, I was over charged by $20. (I should have done the math while at the salon, I agree. Mom brain. I was excited to get out of the house.) Since it's a little late for me to go back and demand a refund now, here is a tip to anyone thinking about visiting this salon: Don't get distracted by conversation. Make sure you get everything listed in the description of the service + do the math! (of course).
Also, when it was time to pay, the owner? (the lady that sits in the closest chair by the door) was VERY snippy towards the end of my visit. There was a misunderstanding about change and whether or not they would be able to give me any - something very simple but she was VERY rude out of no where.
I decided I won't be back. But the way they talk about customers in there, I'm sure they won't care in the slightest.

Excellent salon! Been going there for many years. Have tried others in town but this is the best by far. Everything from Mani, pedí, acrylic, solar, dipping, eyebrow waxing, and lash extensions. I Highly recommend. And for those brave ladies, they also do Bikini and Brazilian waxing.

Great place to get your mani, pedi, or waxing done. They do walk- ins, but appointments are recommended. They now have dipping for nails.

I am very picky about my nails. My original guy from another shop disappeared so I came here in desperate need. I was promptly greeted upon arrival. Cindy was my tech and I am very pleased. She actually made me forget my old tech. I have been going to Cindy now for three months and I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly and funny which make the visit fun.

This was my first time going there and I won’t be going back. I had a few pics of options for my nails. Agreed on one with the nail tech and he got started. It looked like he was doing what I wanted expect for one thing which wasn’t a big deal but then he left my nails looking exactly how I had them done before. Then I noticed the flakes I wanted by that time he’s done, I had no interested in continuing my nails to look like what I wanted. Now that I’m home 2 hrs later my gel nails are already peeling. I’m extremely disappointed.

I usually go to modern nails for pedicures and have been happy. But the manicure and pedicure that I received today are hands-down the worst I have ever received. The two nail colors do not match. I am bleeding on two fingernails. And the shellac is lifting off of my thumb nail. Kevin was distracted and rushed through the entire process. It is just a mess. Another nail tech offered for me to return and have my nails soaked and re-done when I had time. I am a single working mother and this was the only time I had this week. So I am stuck with sloppy looking nails.

The reviews on here were great, but my family's experience was AWFUL! We waited an hour before one out of three of us got helped in any way. Then, another lady came in without an appointment and got helped before my sister and mom.
I wouldn't bother to leave a review if they had done a good job, but the pedicure was awful. There was no massage and the man who did mine did not look when he was scrubbing my heels and cut my pinky toe. The paint on my toes was good and they look good now.
However, I got gel on my nails and he just quickly, roughly filed them. My nails are left with rough edges and sharp spots because he didn't check his work.
The wait would've been fine if they had told us it would be a long wait when we got there or given us a discount, but they said nothing.
DO NOT COME HERE

The shop has subtle & vintage decor with balanced neutral colors.The staff are laid back & professional. They'll make you feel like you've been a loyal customer for years. The owner himself is a sweet older gentleman, always smiling. (Kind of makes me want to add him to my Christmas list lol) When you walk in they greet you & ask you what are you here for. Then they'll ask you to pick your color & have a seat wherever is open or whoever you have an appointment with. My nail tech was really nice, she was very informative about all the products & packages offered in the store. She offered me something to drink & adjusted my massaging chair before we started. I am VERY ticklish under my feet so I told my tech before we got started & I swear that was the best experience EVER, I didn't feel a tickle at all and she got rid off the dead skin on my feet! AMAZING! My overall experience here was awesome & I will definitely go back. Everything was done in a timely matter & they made sure the customers were taken care of & did an awesome job on my pedicure!

If you're getting your nails here don't get them done by Henry. Hes an asshole and will yell at you for moving "too much". Hes supper aggressive when filing your nails.

If I could rate a zero a star I would. Long story short, the woman doing my wife's pedicure cut the hell out of her foot. On top of that, they made her pay for the pedicure. I would not recommend this...

I have been to this modern nails probably 4 times the last time I went I just wanted a polish change not a manicure. As I was getting that done the rude owner asked me point blank in front of everyone...
I have been to this modern nails probably 4 times the last time I went I just wanted a polish change not a manicure. As I was getting that done the rude owner asked me point blank in front of everyone why don't I just get a shellac manicure??? "I said because I don't have $20 every two weeks for a shellac manicure". If I wanted to spend that much money on a manicure I might as well get acrylic nails for 5 more dollars. It's none of your business why some one won't, or can't spend their own money they will NEVER get my business again or anyone I know. The funny thing is one of the employees told me what exactly to buy at Sally's beauty supply to paint my own nails gel & its a lot less than $20!!! So I can keep my money & they can keep the rude attitude....

The owner is really great and skilled....but the staff she hires are a bunch of lazy workers. Most always, when I get a pedicure I end up with bloody toes "oh sorry" the workers say, yesterday I had a manicure...the hand/arm message part of the manicure was horrible the worker used a closed fist and socked both of my arms hard! I have been going to MN 2 for many years, unless you get the owner you take your chances of getting a grumpy employee that does not want to work. When I went into the shop yesterday, 2 workers were there and one was too busy scrolling on her cell phone and did not bother to greet me, she just grunted to the other employee to "take her" I have noticed that when the employee wants to work on your right hand, instead of telling you so, they will just kind of hit your hand, the one they want to work on. Never going back

Not worth your money! Id give this place no stars if i could! Overcharged, and they rushed everything...dont recommend them. Never going again!!!

I am very picky about my nails. My original guy from another shop disappeared so I came here in desperate need. I was promptly greeted upon arrival. Cindy was my tech and I am very pleased. She actually made me forget my old tech. I have been going to Cindy now for three months and I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly and funny which make the visit fun.

I usually go to modern nails for pedicures and have been happy. But the manicure and pedicure that I received today are hands-down the worst I have ever received. The two nail colors do not match. The reviews on here were great, but my family's experience was AWFUL! We waited an hour before one out of three of us got helped in any way. Then, another lady came in without an appointment and got helped before my sister and mom.

Best pedicure! My husband & I used to come here 3 years ago before we left Killeen. They were amazing then, but after coming back & barely seeing reviews & a bad one, I was skeptical. Very glad I came. Best pedicure still & the hot stones were amazing! This will be my go-to the rest of the time we are here!
