As much of a lumberjack as I am sometimes it's nice to get some tlc and have a place massage your legs with hot rocks with a bottled water. The ladies here are all nice though the English is a little broken at times they will surprise you with their strength. When I need my legs rubbed down and feet taken care of this is the place to go. The first time I visited I was a walk in (I have an erratic work schedule, so it’s hard to schedule appts.) and was warmly greeted and had a good nail experience with Peter. Tonight I walked in about 5:20 (they close at 7) and there was a man at the front. He abruptly asked me if I had an appt and I stated no and just needed a Nexgen manicure. It was an hour and 1/2 before closing -he kept looking at the clock liked I strolled in at 6:55. He deeply exaggerated sighed and roll...ed his eyes (like seriously?) and said they didn’t have people to take me because everyone was sick. Meanwhile I see 2-3 people working behind him. So I didn’t make a fuss and turned around to leave. Meanwhile, another lady was also walking in behind me and heard him say that to me and was agreeing he was being extremely rude. He treated her the same way, as we were walking out the door two other Viet people ( a woman and man) jumped out of the car and were trying to find out why we leaving as I’m telling the other customer about another nail place to try. I could tell they were not happy with how the front desk guy treated us. Maybe they were the owners?! Needless to say, I went to Lux Nails across the street and was treated cordially and respectfully. If you can’t take someone, that’s fine and understandable at times. I discovered this salon when we first moved to Flower Mound. I have two prosthetic hips so I’m very careful where I’ll go for a pedicure. Cleanliness is a top priority for me. This salon uses disposable bowl covers and clean tools for each client. They are welcoming and kind. I have seen it get crowded so there could be a wait even if you have an appointment. I walked in late Saturday morning and they had techs available for a mani / pedi. The salon is beautiful and relaxing, not the usual loud chatter of other places. Got NexGen Nails and it was great. Pedi done well, too. I did notice more male techs than I've seen before at other nail spas. The salon is huge and beautifully kept, very relaxing. My mom, daughter, and I were seated immediately and had very enjoyable pedicures. The technicians were all kind and accommodating. My daughter also had her finger nails painted. Only 5 hours later three nails had already peeled off so that was a little disappointing. Enjoyed my first visit to Great Nails & Spa in The Shops st Highland Village. Suzanne was my technician and she was wonderful and answered all my questions about the options available for both manicures and pedicures. I had an appointment and did the Ice Dancer Pedicure and it was so worth it!!! They have just recently opened and are building their business and I highly recommend giving them a try.
