I've gone to top nails for YEARS, and I never let anyone else do my nails. Howie and Michelle are wonderful and always treat me like family when I come in. Today I went in to get my nails filled, knowing that I wanted a different color than my usual black. Michelle gave me exactly what I wanted and then some! I had a great experience here! Everyone was very nice. Natalie (which there are not such favorable reviews below) did a FANTASTIC job on my pedicure!!! I needed one bad and she trimmed/cut/descaled my foot and not one scratch. They also did my pedi & nails at the same time, which i appreciate because i dont have a lot of time to spare. I've been here twice now. Your experience will greatly depend on who it's doing your nails. Last time Jasmine did my pedicure and it turned out fine. This last time I went I got a manicure and pedicure from Natalie and it was frankly quite terrible. She made both of my big toes bleed and several fingers when using the cuticle trimmer. My left big toe bleed profusely, and I'm not a bleeder. It hurt so bad. Even today my toes and a few fingers are very sore. If you look closely you can see where a small piece of flesh was cut out. If the owner hadn't interfered and attempted to fix things, as much as she could considering I was practically mauled, I would write this place off and never go back. If you go, ask for Jasmine or Michelle, so you don't leave bleeding and in pain.Read Less

I'm hesitant to give 3 stars, but I think my experience is limited to the specific tech not being experienced. Natalie butchered my toes. I have one nail so short it hurts wearing socks not to mention shoes. Also have 2 toes from the trimming of cuticles still bleeding despite me twice telling her it hurts (when it shouldn't be felt at all). I am now wondering if she's properly trained and licensed. I went to Top Nail for the first time yesterday. . I am pleased to say that I was very satisfied with the Treatment from Michelle and Howie, the salon is well kept and clean. I got french tups from here. They did not completely take the fingernail polish off my nails. They areally not even straight and they are so uneven it's not even funny. If you are going for acrylics don't. My daughter got her nails painted and they were really good treated her like a queen. So depending on what you want would determine if I would go again. Michelle always treats you like family and makes you feel very welcome. I've gone there for many years. When I was there in July I didn't have the greatest experience but the next time I went in they were sure to make it up to me and my little girl. I have looked high and low for a good nail shop.  I had been driving 40 miles one way to get a good shop.  Then, through a friend, I found Top Nails.  I could not be happier.  I always go to Michelle and she takes to heart exactly what you would like.  She does a great pedicure and now is doing my acrylic nails to perfection.  She is always cheerful and ready to work.  Could not be happier.  Gatesville is lucky to have this shop!
