I loved my nails that was done here. The reason I gave it 3 stars is on the FB page it says full set is $15, but I paid double that for just a full set with color. No designs no mani. I also would have liked trend nail designs and that wasn't able to happen either. Read Less

Coming to Zen for pedicures is definitely the highlight of my month.  I am a LOYAL fan and feel terrible it has taken me so long to write a review.  From the moment you walk in you can tell that this is not your average spa.  All you can hear is the soothing waterfall and the peaceful soundtrack playing over the speakers - Cell phone use is prohibited and conversations are kept to a low murmur.  In addition...1) The Relaxing chairs that allow you to lay almost horizontally.... I always fall asleep =)2) Chocolate Mint Tea...Seriously the best thing ever.3) Careful and talented estheticians!!! I agree with previous reviewers, you get what you pay for. Zen is certainly more expensive then a usual nail salon but for that it offers a unique combination of hospitality and expert services in a calming and quiet environment. Very relaxing.. I am in Dallas for business about 1-2 times a month and have been coming to Zen regularly for two years. Always have my nails done and had my haircuts here too, but they closed the hairsalon part some months ago. The staff is friendly, they serve tea during the appointments it is a very relaxing and quiet environment. Not the usual noise and chatter you know from other establishments, they really epitomized the Zen-like ambience. I think there is now a mandatory gratuity which I believe was implemented because some cheap people did not leave tips for the techsHighly recommended, I now live on the west coast and I still come here monthly during my business trips to Dallas. For the two previous posts prior to mine: Cheese graters? Really have you never seen a Pedi Egg or any other similar tool that removes dead skin? Its the same frigging thing only flat! lol! This place is top notch, only uses the best products and tools, and is always above sanitary in appearance and cleanliness. I have had two not so good appointments out of probably 100 since when I first started going here in 2006-2007. The two times I had below average services were ONLY when I used a different nail tech who did not know my personal preferences. Since I was so used to Lily doing my nails I forgot to speak up and tell the two random people I used on Lily's off day exactly what I wanted. Aside from those two appointments I have enjoyed every appointment I have had in Zen. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the tea is amazing they serve during the appointments, and i can't express how much more relaxing it is not to have 50 people crammed into a small space while you're getting your pedicure. The chairs are spaced out and the atmosphere is overly relaxing to the point you may not want to leave. Although it is more expensive than your average cookie cutter nail salon, it is well worth every cent you pay for your services. I would rather pay more upfront for better services paired with a nicer atmosphere, then be low ball priced and then up sold with ""knuckle and dimming"" techniques for every little add on service such as massage, spa treatment, callus removal, and so on. You get what you pay for and you only get what you ask for. Try Lily for the best natural nail manicure and pedicures. She doesn't rush and always pays attention to the cuticle area. ;) Read Less

Still a little confused about this place. I walked in and the receptionist greeted me and offered me a cookie and cucumber water which I thought was nice. From a glance it looks like a nice, modern zen like place. However,once you get to your chair you notice its a little run down. They brought me a big blanket and then put a towel on top of that which i was weird b/c its 100 degrees out. Other's had neck wraps and eye covers - I would of loved a neck wrap. So my pedi starts and its quick, quick, quick!!! He zipped through cutting/shaping my nail and then scared me with the cuticle nippers b/c he was going so fast!! Then when it gets to the callus buffing he honestly started to use a cheese grater on my heel!!! I told him that I didn't like that but he barely spoke English and acted like he didn't understand. I had to physically pull my foot away. He said something like ""its good for you"". I have never seen this - it was a hand held cheesegrater that you would pick up in the kitchen aisle at Target. I do have to say the best part was the foot massage. It was the best foot massage I have had at a pedi but still unsure if I'll go back. The cheese grater scared me!!! Also the cost is a little high. I 'was' a regular customer at Zen until I had two visits in a row that were horrible. One was a bad job on my pedicure, and when I mentioned it to the front desk they were very rude to me. The other was a fill for my nails....this I also mentioned and was spoken to very rudely about it. There are alot of great spas out there and bad customer service can ruin even a nice atmosphere........I WILL NOT be going back to Zen. Don't waste your money!! Read Less

Tried this place because my girlfriend who works for D Magazine said the editors there love it. The pedicure there is devine and nothing like your typical nail place. This is truely a Ritz Carlton-like Spa environment with a great emphasis on quality nail care. Read Less

If you want to treat yourself and not go into the usual nail factory, Zen Beauty Bar is the place. Amazing atmosphere and customer service with excellent luxury products. They use Chanel, Kerastase, Jack Black, Gewol, and other products not seen in your usual nail place. I found them through Dallas Paper City article and everything was true about this place. I live in Dallas but glad I drove to Frisco for for a treat. Read Less
