I have been going to this nail salon pretty ritually (every 2 weeks) for about a year. I will not be going back again. I went in yesterday and decided to take my almost 3 year old daughter for some bonding time. When we walked in I was told it would be about a 20 minute wait for me to get my nails and pedicure and my daughter to get her nails and toes painted - that's fine, it was a Sunday. 20 minutes they took me and my daughter over to 2 pedicure chairs. I sat with water in mine for about 30 minutes while trying to keep my almost 3 year old entertained. A technician finally came over and started working on my nexgen. She got the foil on one had and my daughter had to go potty. Got up, stuck my feet in my tennis shoes and took her potty. She had a small accident. My daughter and I went out to the car to get her backup pants. Went back in, took her to the bathroom and changed her pants. When I came out I asked the manager if she had a plastic bag. She looked at me like I was an idiot (meanwhile I have talked to her many times in the last year) and turned and spoke in a different language to someone else while pointing at me. I looked at her and said "Never mind, I'll go back out in the rain and put them in my car". Finally back in my chair and with a pull-up on my daughter so we didn't make it inconvenient for this NON family friendly environment. Halfway through my nails, someone comes over finally and starts working on my pedicure (now ice cold water). My daughter has still not had her fingers or toes painted. I asked the 2 tech's that were working on mine if anyone was going to come over - they said "yes". It was almost time to paint my toes - I have never picked out my toenail polish as I always just say "match my nails please". The manager came by and said I needed to pick out my own color - I told her I never have before, that they always found the matching. She said that they were busy and that's why. Then I asked her if anyone was going to paint my daughter toes and nails. She said "We are busy and have appointments" My response as I was sitting very close to the front register "I have seen you seat at least 20 people that did not have an appointment because you told them you have appointments and it would be about 20 minutes or so." She said "Well, they do powder". So because someone else was getting a service that was more expensive then what I was wanting for my daughter they came first. We were there for a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes. The nail technician that was doing my pedicure finally asked me "Do you just want me to paint your daughters nails and toes before I paint your toes?" Yes, that is fine. This is truly a great group of people at this salon and I get the *best* manicure of my life. Have been going here for over a year and I try not to go anywhere else unless I'm traveling. The management is so sweet and attentive and the technicians are some of the best I've ever seen. I get the best manicure and shape I've ever gotten here, and they take care of my nails so well that I don't even need to wear tips anymore because my nails are long and strong (I get the gel manicure)!! The costs at this place are average, pretty much the same as any other nail place in the area. The staff cares to be detailed and make sure you’re happy with the look, even if it needs to be fixed. My first and last experience here was awful. I just wanted a basic pedicure. My tech was "Lauren". Lauren used a tool that looked a cheese grater to scrub the bottom of my heels, and she did so aggressively- to the point where I have raw, painful sores on the bottom of my feet and it now hurts to walk. I have never encountered this before anywhere else. She also cut me and drew blood on my big toe when doing cuticles. On top of that, my polish is uneven and different opacity on different toes due to some layers being applied thicker than others. The icing on the cake: When Lauren went to put my sandals back on, she attempted to force them on without unbuckling and smudged my big toe. This was 100% her doing, I literally did not move a muscle. She yelled at me and said, "Oh, you messed it up!" No. I did not. Maybe this is a decent place if you get the right tech. I started coming to Picasso about three years ago and I keep coming back, despite living almost an hour away because it is just they good. The prices are great and Emily is excellent. Very friendly staff that listen to even your small requests, such as nail length and shape. I have never left here feeling regret about any service I have received here. I go here all the time , but this particular time was the WORST. The manager is just so RUDE. She does not listen to what you have to say.. If i am paying you, then you should fix whatever it is that i need fixed. My pedicure looked liked my 5 year old daughter painted them, my two big toes are not the same length!! I will not be back. Terrible service. The owner is rude and was talking about my daughter with her staff. When I told her that they had made my daughter uncomfortable, she looked at my 10 year old and scolded her telling her to not be so sensitive. I left with nexgen all over my hands, polish on my toes that did not match...even though it was the new matching combo by opi. I pointed out to the guy that the numbers didn't match but he put it on anyway. One is iridescent shimmery pink and the ot...her is opaque white with pinkish tint. $100 mistake...$200 if you count that I'm gonna have to go to another salon and get this corrected. Picasso was my go to nail salon, me, my mom and sister go there religiously. Typically they do great work . I got my nails done a week ago and one nail popped off and the rest were all lifting (if I wanted I could easily pop off the rest). I've been getting nexgen for years and this has never happened to me. So I called to make an appointment for them to fix my nails and I still had my receipt. The woman I spoke to was very rude and refused to make an appointment for me. I go in and they fixed the one nail but would not redo the rest of my nails, just filed them a little and reapplied the top finishing coat. My nails look horrible! Had a very bad experience at this place this morning. Decided to treat myself to the luxury pedicure because the menu said milk and honey and that sounded awesome! This was a more expensive pedicure than the basic. Now it doesn't bother me when English isn't someone's first language but it does bother me when I cannot communicate with them at all and they are performing a service for me. That was the case here. The girl started putting some kind of exfoliant on my legs and it wasn't milk and honey. After trying to ask about it, she pulled another staff member over who translated for her "there are different scents and you didn't ask for milk and honey". I was never offered choices! Quick fix. No big deal. They swapped it out.The part that was bad was that she wasn't gentle at all. She used callus remover on the sensitive arches of my feet (where I have no calluses) and it is still burning hours after the pedicure. This brings me to THE WORST PART: She cut me on the bottoms of BOTH heels with a cheese grater type thing until they were bleeding. It hurts really bad to walk on them or put any weight on them. I was just here last Friday with my sister. We have 3 weddings this month, so we wanted something that could last us for the majority of the month. We both went for NexGen manicures and I opted for a pedicure, as well (my toes were in dire need of a fresh coat of paint!).I had called and booked an appointment the day before and we both got booked for 4PM on a Friday afternoon. We both arrived on time and were greeted warmly by both people at the front desk. We were guided to the right side, where the nexgen nail colors were located and given some time to pick and choose. I also picked my toe nail polish color. Once colors were chosen, we were immediately taken to our stations and services began right away. Johnny did the NexGen for my nails and a lovely lady (she wasn't wearing her name tag, so I can't give her credit!) did my pedicure. I told Johnny I'd never done NexGen before and he was very good at pointing out what he was doing the whole time. Both were extremely meticulous and thorough with their work. I scheduled an appointment today for 1:30pm and walked in promptly at the designated time for a pedicure. I was eventually seated, water drawn and asked if I'd like something to drink so I replied water please. I was brought water in a styrofoam cup...who doesn't even have baby bottled waters if not regular-sized bottled waters when your base pedicure is $27-just saying! Then, I waited in hot to eventually cold water WAITING for 27 minutes for someone to come over to START on... my pedicure , acknowledge me, give me a time frame on when it would begin-which no one ever did. So I got up, wiped my feet off and left. As I was putting on my shoes someone came over to me to ask me if everything was ok. When I told her I was leaving bc I'd been waiting for 27 MINUTES she offered no apology, didn't even attempt to check to see if anyone would be finishing up with another client-nothing to rectify the situation.
