I have been getting my nails done with Nicole since the end of August. Because of her, I have kicked nail-biting and finally have a beautiful set of acrylics! My cuticles are completely repaired and have never had my natural nails this long before, and it's all because of Nicole!!! Was lucky enough to have my nails done by the owner today, Ty. Quite an impressive woman. She's going places! Had a lovely chat with her and she was sweet enough to make me feel much younger than my 54 years. I needed to kill time before my flight home and I was well overdue for some new polish. Normally I do my own nails but I figured why not. As you can see, the shop as a great amount of positive reviews which is what brought me there. When I got to the store front, I wasn't entirely sure it was open. It only has a a door and no windows but there was an "open" sign. A previous review says the shop looks like it was decorated by a preteen..accurate! It wasn't the most visually appealing and it didn't look the cleanest but I was just getting a gel color so I wasn't worried about catching any toe funguses.They only have 3 people working, its clearly a mom and daughter business. But they were pretty efficient and I didn't really have a wait. I was given the mother who was a little slow for my taste. You can tell she wasn't into the new nail fads..or tools for that matter. I was getting my natural nails done so I wanted to reshaped and evened out but she did the opposite. They were pretty crooked. Halfway through her cleaning them up, she swapped places with her daughter Jasmine (who seems to be a client fave). Jasmine came in and fixed EVERYTHING! She even gave me the coffin shape I've been wanting and convinced me to get a chrome color. Jasmine was also pretty talkative so I didn't feel awkward.Overall it wasn't a horrible experience but a little pricey for my blood. I got my real nails done but the chrome and reshaping brought up the price. I was hearing others walk out paying $35 for gel and acrylic but I ended up paying $40 for natural nails and gel. That doesn't fully add up to me but whatever. If I ever found myself in a nail emergency in the area, I would probably go again. I just wanna put this out their but if your ever looking to get your nails done please go see Ty's Nail Candy in Branford they are by far the most down to earth place. the staff alone is amazing. And they take their time , are very clean and really care about what you want for your nails etc I enjoy every time I've gone to get mine done on several occasions and I come out very happy every single time. Not once have I've been not happy with my set. Ty the owner is absolutely ...amazing she's sweet and just down right nice, so is her staff they all work together as a whole and really make you feel like your at home just hanging out with the girls. Ive been getting my nails done with Ty since before she opened the shop. My nails were so carefully done and they looked so stunning! Now that the shop has opened, the "wow factor" has gone down dramatically. She doesnt do many of the services she used to because shes gotten so busy i.e. free hand 3d designs. Check out my Yoshi nails. On top of that shes messing up her scheduling repeatedly, and although i was nice abt it, she gave me attitude yelling "we only booked one pedi...cure!” Yeah they're pretty, but for how long (full sets)? I have nails lifting up as early as the very next week. Not just 1, but 2 or 3. I could see if i was negligent and they broke but no. What's the use of having pretty nails if they don't last but a week? And i swear to you this never used to happen. But honestly they r cute n I would come back but the icing on the cake is that attitude. She slams materials down, she huffs n puffs as I'm trying to decide when the next time I come in is, I even caught her looking at me crazy one time I was sitting with my sis while she was getting a pedicure for prom. Ive been polite about it. I always tip her a good job. I even reached out to her and i thought we squashed it. But I came to the shop n once again she was snorting, huffing and puffing and slamming materials. After two of my nails lifted and took 1/2 of my nail with them i know im done. So I had written a review here about 4 months ago after trying Ty's Nail Candy for the first time. Which I have now deleted and changed my mind completely. I had then given it a 5 star rating, this was after a pedicure. I think I was so pleased with the price and the glass of wine offered that I went back. Upon my second visit I chose to have acrylics put on with a design I found on Pinterest. The actual nails lifted in less than a week and were very thin toward the bottom, t...he shape was horrible and the top was so thick! Plus the design was subpar at best. I took the nails off and moved on from it. Then I went back again! I know! Why? But I figured third time was a charm. Nope! I was wrong! I was leaving for a Disney family vacation and wanted a special design on a gel manicure. Well, I had to go in two days later and have a nail with design on it redone and then a day later a whole nail polish just popped right off as I was opening a drawer. With that being said I was pissed. Then every other nail lifted and chipped within two days. I had just gotten on vacation and my nails were already ruined! I was able to peel off the manicure with ease 4 days after it being applied. Usually a gel manicure will stay on my nails for more than 2 weeks. My husband and I got one of the best pedicures here! This place is truly amazing. The ladies are friendly and definitely know what they're doing. They both removed all the dead skin and left our feet so soft. What my husband and I liked the most is that they don't push you to buy the most expensive deal they have. They explained to is the differences and we got to choose what we wanted to get done. And since we were visiting for just a week, they suggested places to visit in the area. we definitely recommend this nail salon. Read Less

They are not just my nails techs but also my friends. I would travelled from the far west to the Far East just to see my girls and thank God they've moved closer to me. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Jen, Jasmine and Sarah are awesome when it comes to the service care you receive. You will be amazed at just how important you are to them.
