Every since I moved to Desoto I've been looking for a stylist in the area to press my hair occasionally and to also find an establishment where two separate bridal parties can be booked for hair and beauty services within the upcoming weeks. After finding this establishment on Facebook and Instagram I finally had time to visit today and left disappointed. I am always looking to support minorities, any small business, any new business, any AFRICAN AMERICAN OWNED Business etc. I pulled up to this establishment today and I parked in the front of the store, in a handicap parking spot (I am a DISABLED VETERAN w/ a DV plate on my car). As I was about to get out of my car the lady in the car next to me rolled her window down and asked me if I had a handicap "sticker," I told her that I didn't . She then said, "There's a guy behind you with a handicap sticker that wants to park there." So again, I said to her, "I have DV tags." (Keep in mind there are 100 other parking spots that are vacant, including handicap spots and it's 1:00 in the afternoon on a TUESDAY.) She immediately caught an attitude and mumbled something smart and act as if is she was about to move her car. She turned to me to say something and I just politely rolled my window up and parked in the spot behind me*As I was changing spots I thought to myself maybe this guy is more disabled than I am, so it's cool , whatever. After I parked the lady jumps out of her car and started yelling, "This spot is for people with handicap stickers and he has a handicap sticker..." By this time the guy is out of the truck, walking just fine and lifting items etc. I started to yell back at her explaining to her that the DV on my tags stands for DISABLED VETERAN and that he could have parked in the spots next to me or the one next to her. She goes on to ask me which building I was going in and I pointed at the Salon she then yells "Well I'm the owner and I don't want your money with that attitude."So from there it turned into a yelling match between her, the guy who I gave my parking spot to and myself. She was begging me to get out of the car so we could fight calling me out of my name, him calling me all kinds of raggedy hoes and me calling her out of her name. I never addressed the dude because #1 it had nothing to do with him and #2 you're a grown man calling a woman out of her name for no reason. Every time she took two steps towards my vehicle to "fight" I guess she thought about it and continued to gonna back and yell from the curb (basically putting on show). Of course I would've gotten physical with her but as I put my car in park and took my seatbelt off, I thought to myself why would you catch an assault charge for whooping this girl ass over a parking spot. Take you and your peoples money, and business elsewhere. By the time I came to my senses and realized that I probably have more to lose than she does the police arrived and made her go inside. Very nice officer who calmed me down, gave me encouraging words and put the smile that I always carry back on my face. While the officer was speaking to me you can still see "THE OWNER" inside of the salon going crazy. Acting VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. All of the people who work there were also looking and confused about what was going on. So of course this whole situation pissed me off for a few reasons: 1. If you're the owner you should allow your customers to have the spots in the front of your store. 2.You should learn what DV on a tag stands for before you ask someone to move their vehicle.3. What kind of owner/professional provokes a fight in the front of their own establishment?4. This is why WE can't support each other.5.People need to understand it's not always what you say, it's how you say it. WATCH YOUR TONE. So I guess it's safe to say I will not support or encourage anyone to support this establishment. MOOD: Disgusted Read Less
