Manager rude, continue to up charge for round nails.... really? Then at the end wanted to charge me for buff $5. Like damn.... I won't be back the lady manager sits and stairs at you while speaking the vietnamese language in which i fully understand as she threatens the workers to up charge for Random reasons 😉 honey there's too many nail salons in Desoto to be disrespected at one. There customer service is horrible. When I first walked in I informed the lady I wanted a fill and a pedicure. They sat me in the chair and started on my pedicure and told me I needed to soak my hands to do because they were dipped nails. Then the guy comes over and starts crying my nails off stating I will be charged for a full set and for taking nails. When I asked to speak with the manage and informed him it was unprofessional because I should have been told that upfront. The manager gets an attitude and tells me I need to pay then for the pedicure and taking my nails off. I paid for my pedicure and told them I will not be paying for any nail service due to I didn’t get any service that I requested. I went to get a fill and ended up getting a fungus on my nail due to lack of care and detail. When I told the manager what happened he was unprofessional and made it seem like it was my fault. This was my first and last time going there. He did nothing to try and compensate me for this. I went to this place and they ask what you wanted soon as you walk in the door... I told the manager a pedicure. They seated me in chair where the water was already in the bowl... But it was a little warm... So then 30 mins go by my water is cold... Not one person came to check on me ( not a cold drink or anything).... so I politely got up and walked out, but as me walking out the lady said you pay I said no service... This place is not worth your time or money. I gave this place two chances to get it right and now I’m left with ugly polish on my toes. I’ve been getting my nails done since I was 15 and have never spent $167 for two services. The “gel” polish began chipping the very next morning. I ultimately peeled it off like child polish. This polish is cheap and for the amount of money you spend, the products AND customer service should be on point! The people working there are rude and act as if they are doing you a favor. They upsell you like crazy and get sour with you when you say NO THANKS. This place is literally down the road but sadly, I will never give them my time or money again. Read Less

I really disliked my visit to nail bar they did a horrible job and the customer service didn't make it any better and to top it all off they were being racist and giving me and my sisters ugly faces and they also cut my sister and she was bleeding i would not recomen this place AT ALL!! Man o man! How I wish that I would have read the reviews before going to this place. It was the absolute WORST job I've ever had done for a mani. The finished set was sloppy to say the very least and was not even completely filled and on top of that the shape is horrible and not at all what I asked for. The first time was a good experience. The second time my mom and I went and the gentleman who is "over things" was rude, obnoxious, and ugly. After our pedicures he started out doing my mother's nails in the middle of her session a young lady comes in he got up from doing my moms nails made her sit and wait while he proceeded to do the new comers nails. Their happy hour had new hours after 3 is regular hours now..."who knew?" He argued with most of us who made it there by 3:05 that we would pay regular price IN A NASTY way. He has awful customer service his delivery stinks. I really hopes the owner sees this because this is a great concept but his manager is awful. RUDE!Lacks customer service!This nail bar is located near my sister's house in Desoto. I came here to get my lip waxed. I literally sat there waiting for someone to just GREET me for about 5-10 minutes. The employees were even walking to the front getting things from the front desk but no one cared to greet me or even asked what service I needed. I literally had to ask a employee myself how much longer it would be before someone even said anything to me and she then got me a technician.This is crazy!I have never been in a salon that people didn't get greet their customers when they first come in. I am from Houston so I do not know my way around Desoto but I will be sure to find somewhere else to go if i ever need services while i'm in town. Read Less

I gave up my go to nail shop to come to DeSoto Nail Bar. Every time I come I get the red carpet treatment. Cindy takes the best care of my feet. I have calluses so that's no small task.  The store is clean, multiple TV screens, & wifi.  I don't know what there other reviewers experienced, but this is star treatment at its finest.  There are adult beverages to enhance ur services.  Whether u go solo or a group; u SHANT be disappointed. Initial customer service was a plus starting with pedicurist, halfway into pedicure the manicurist a male came over and greeted me with an offer of an additional drink then it went to all hell No! He shoved my hand back, said I was moving to much, then he told my child not to touch my foot as she was approaching me, I had to tell him off, then he didn't offer to oil my hands until I requested it be done...he was a short rude Gumby looking Asian man.  I reported him to the front clerk another male who I paid for the services redured$90 (2 pedicures,kid polish,& a horrible dipping powder set with tips added)I know I won't ever recommend this location because his Rude behavior. Firstly, they were very rude and I didn't get a comfortable welcoming. Then I showed the the guy who was doing my nails, a picture of what i wanted and he said $45. I said oh no , how come and he said because of the design and the coffin shape; but there wasn't a design. So, I just said whatever just give me a regular full set. I wasn't paying attention and I felt the man cutting my nail. He didn't ask me what length I wanted he just chopped it off very low. I tried this nail bar for the 2nd time and I'm still not completely sure how I feel about it. It's a very nice nail salon. Great decor and frozen beverages. The techs are fairly friendly as well. However....their work is not great. The first time I came I got a manicure and the tech cut my cuticles up! Today I tried the salon again because it is SO close to my home. I got the Next Gen Nails and my eyebrows waxed. My technician was once again pretty nice (same guy) but I got cut again! Also, my nails are not the shape I asked for....I advised him several times that I wanted them to be shaped narrowly and look natural. However after his 3rd attempt I just settled for a wider nail shape than I'm used to. I hate fat nails! Finally... the lady who did my eyebrows literally did them in 3 minutes. I had to ask her to make them look alike when she finished because they were TWO DIFFERENT SHAPES!!! She took another 2 MINUTES to tweeze them to look somewhat similar but they still don't match. She did NOT take her time at all and rushed out of the room when she finished (leaving me in there). So overall....if you're in a bind it will get the job done. But don't expect great quality work. I don't even know where to begin or if I should start because after reading the other reviews it's more of the same. Nice establishment. Poor, poor quality of work. I'm sure they won't miss me but I was diligently searching for a nail salon closer to home and when I stumbled on Desoto Nail Bar, I thought it was my new spot. I had been a loyal client of my previous nail salon for 6 years! It wasn't a fancy spot and they don't serve drinks but I found a technician that did excellent work and when he fell short he would admit it and without my asking discount it.I continued to go to Desoto Nail Bar after several less-than-par mani and pedi hoping to eventually get a nail technician that did great work--after 5 Pedi's and 5 gel mani's, I'm done!The last technician did a horrible job on my nails and I returned the very next day to show them how bad it was and they said I could get a 20% discount for the next time. Oh yea, he cut my cuticle and it bleed pretty badly which I feel warrants a discount anyways! Well after the 3rd day of this horrible mani, I couldn't take looking at my nails--I was embarrassed to show my hand in public. I went back to have them re-done that day but the wait on the technician was going to be at least an hour so I decided not to wait. I went out of town and returned to the DNS which now was 10 days.After much debate (because I refused to pay again for a job that wasn't done right the first time) they agreed to a polish change for free. I should have settled with the first job because the second one was worse--3 cuts, lumpy polish, the line around my cuticle very uneven. He glued one of my nails for the 2nd time which popped off the same evening. And wanted to charge me $5 for one nail because the tip broke and I actually agreed to pay but left the shop without paying because I was so unsatisfied when he was done I walked out and completely forgot about the $5. But when I remembered after I was home, I didn't go back to pay and as I write this review and look at my nails, I am so glad that I didn't!!You can go if you want to but it's at your own risk and you can't say you weren't warned.Oh and one more thing, My pedi was $40 and mani $45 (no 20% disc) so obviously cost has nothing to do with quality at this place! I decided to try this new place out because my usual nail tech was off work yesterday, one my nails broke, I needed a fill badly, and I will be too busy for the next few day to go where I usually go. And I am on the look for a place that does better pedicures. Beautiful place, good variety of nail polishes and they serve drinks. The manager speaks English and understands requests.  First I got my pedicure. I really like that they have the plastic lining for sanitary purposes. I got the traditional pedicure which is the cheapest one at $27. She used the pumice stone to scrub my feet, but not the cheese grater thingy ( which I think is the best for getting rid of dead skin). I saw another tech using it on her client that was getting one of the higher priced pedis. So I guess you have to spend $40 to get your feet really scrubbed. However, they do put hot towels on your feet no matter which pedicure you get. Overall she did a good job.   Moving along to my nails. Kenny did my fill. He was really friendly, but honestly, he does not have the skill set to be a nail technician. He applied the acrylic unevenly so it feels very lumpy to the touch. He basically added acrylic thickly to the bottom of my nails where I needed the fill, but didn't extend it evenly all the way up to the tip of the nail. I wear my nails coffin shaped and he told me he specializes in coffin and almond shaped nails. #lies. The nail he redid looks nothing like the other nails.  The nail is longer than the others and crooked. His painting skills are on a 2nd grade level. He applied two HEAVY coats of polish. The nail polish was literally standing up on my nails and started dripping onto my cuticles. I asked him to re polish a few nails. I will definitely have to let these grow out so that I can take these nails off and get a fresh set.  The funny thing is that Kenny kept bragging about how good they looked and I can tell he really believes in his heart that he does a great job. At this point it was after 8pm so I went along with his ego trip.  Overall I was not satisfied and had it not been for me getting 20% off my services for their grand opening, I would have complained to the manager. Today I had my hair done for the first time at a salon in god knows how long. Shawna did an amazing job the best job I've ever had done my hair.! So glad one of my great friends recommended me to come to salons by jc and visit Shawna! I highly highly recommend this salon, I have super super thick hair and it was not an issue for her at all. I've been the other salon and then turned away because my hair was too sick as they say. So thank you so much Shona for being an amazing stylist!! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing I love how she had her own room it was awesome you didn't have everybody right around you you don't have everybody listening to you you didn't have everybody watching you it was your own little personal space and I absolutely was amazed by that.
